Epilepsy

CSlove asked for a oneshot of Emma, having recently been diagnosed with epilepsy stops taking her meds because she hates the way it makes them feel. Snow comes home and finds her in a tonic-clonic seizure and panics. Her parents find out she stopped taking her meds and agree Snow will be in charge of distributing them from now on.

"Hey, I'm home!" Snow called, dumping her bag in the hall. She went through into the living room and was greeted by a terrifying sight. Emma was in the middle of the room, thrashing around uncontrollably. "Emma!" Snow called out. She tried to remain calm. Emma needed her. Snow called for an ambulance and made sure there was nothing in the way that could harm Emma.

Fortunately, by the time the ambulance arrived, the seizure had stopped and Emma was coming round. She was still taken to hospital to be checked over. Snow called David and he was over in a flash. By that point, Emma was ready to talk.

"Ok, do you know your medication doses off by heart? The doctor will probably ask and we need to let them know. There's a good chance they'll be altered. You shouldn't be having as serious a seizure as that." Snow said, shuddering. That was a horrible experience.

"There's nothing wrong with my medication doses." Emma told them. "Not when I take them, anyway…" Emma admitted. Snow and David tensed. "I hate the way they make me feel. It makes everything all fuzzy and I feel sleepy. I can't focus properly with them.

"Emma, do you know how serious this was?" Snow asked. "You could have died! What if I didn't come home? Nobody would have been here to call the hospital." Snow pointed out. Emma looked down, guilty.

"Your mom's right, Emma. This could have been a lot more serious. Maybe for the time being it's best if your mom takes charge of your meds. I know you don't like them, but it's not worth having a fit. This way you won't be tempted to skip a dose." David pointed out. Emma sighed. She didn't like someone else being in control of her pills, but knew they had a point. It would help her fight temptation, even if she didn't like it.
