Chapter 1
First Day

"Welcome to Freddy Fazbear's my name is Blaze, may I take your order?" The pad was held ready in his hand and he smiled at the customers before him. It was a young couple with a toddler and a baby, both of the parents seemed quite flabbergasted.

"What?" The mother asked as she tried to stop the little girl from eating the salt packet in front of her.

"I asked if you would like anything?" He asked again still with a smile, the woman nodded with a breath.

"Right, right, of course, Jared, I need you to order hun." She said as she tried to pull the salt packet away from her daughter.

"Huh? I can't order right now, Sammy is upheavaling everything he ate this afternoon!" He said as he tried to clean his button up. Blaze pursed his lips and pointed at the stained shirt.

"I'll um, I'll go get you some napkins." All he received was a quick nod from the man before he had to turn back to his baby.

Blaze slipped away and went to the condiments area where everything was kept. He passed by Sheryl, the waitress who had helped him find a uniform to wear. Giving her a bright smile he hurried to get the napkins. She came over and raised a questioning eyebrow.

"Throw up?"

"Spit up actually, on the father's shirt and I believe some got on the floor as well." He fished around trying to find the new box of napkins, they were out anyways so he might as well get the new pack open. Beside him Sheryl winced and took a breath.

"Yikes, spit up on first day? Sorry about that Red." At the nickname Blaze quirked his lip before taking a breath.

"You know I'm not a redhead." He got up and set the box on the counter before him grabbing some scissors to open it.

"Yeah, but it isn't often you see a hoodie in that bold of a red." She responded before helping him get out the napkins once the box was open.

"Okay, yeah you're right. But regardless, I don't really mind the spit up." He responded with a shrug, she tilted her head.

"You got kids?" The question made him pause, napkins in each hand. The man wet his lips and took a breath, Sheryl paused gazing at him brow furrowed. "Red?"

He jumped and looked at her wide eyed, "huh? Oh uh...I better get back to that family." He offered a smile and put one half of the napkins away before going over to the table, both parents looked relieved as he helped them clean up the mess.

The first day wasn't difficult, but he certainly got his exercise, hopping from one table to another he served orders, had a bit of small talk and cleaned up several messes. It wasn't until his lunch break that he was finally able to get off his feet.

Sitting at one of the tables the man watched as children ran around, some of them playing on the carousel and giggling madly. Some of them sat in front of the stage watching excitedly as the toys did their performance.

Blaze had heard the nickname for them thrown around by the other staff.

Apparently there had been another location, but it had closed down due to sanitation issues. So these were the new and improved animatronics.

Though he thought he heard one of the other waiters talk about the old animatronics creeping them out, so the new employee couldn't help but wonder if they were in this building as well.

His attention drifted over to some of the kids dancing along with the songs that the animatronics sang. A smile crossed over his face and he leaned back in his seat with a breath. Okay, maybe Sara had been right. Maybe working here wouldn't be so bad.

The day was going well, that much he could tell, except he couldn't help but have a creeping feeling that someone was watching him. He didn't know why, but it was one of those feelings that make the hair on the back of ones neck stand up.

He glanced around, but he could never find the offender. Eventually he shrugged it off, for all he knew it could be the boss or other employees who were watching him.

Speaking of other employees, the day guard had showed up, and he had spoken to their manager, Frank. The conversation had been held in the office so it wasn't clear to anyone but Blaze what it was about.

But the worker had definitely made a scene when he walked out.

"The * Frank! Why would I want to switch to the night shift!?" The man shouted as he walked out of the office, Frank followed after taking a deep breath.

"You should've known this would happen Adrian. It was in your contract. Now are you really going to throw a fuss? We all have to do our jobs around here." He glanced around at all the people watching them, "and if you are going to kick up a fuss can we do it in my office?"

But Adrian wasn't having any of it.

"Oh shut up! I'm not taking the stupid night shift! I do have goals in life Frank! I don't want to d-" he was cut off when Frank covered his mouth and sent him a deadly glare.

"My office now." He ordered sternly, Adrian glared at him before following the man inside of his office.

Blaze had been serving at the time and perhaps it was just coincidence, but he would almost swear he saw the animatronics looking in their direction.

After his lunch break, Blaze was back on his feet, the dinner rush was just around the corner, but at the moment it was calm.

Well, calm until two kids broke out in a fight in front of the stage.

"Move over! I want to be closer!" A little boy protested, and shoved a small girl away from him, Blaze blinked and looked around for their parents but he couldn't find anyone. He pursed his lips and took a breath before going over.

"Hey kids, what seems to be the problem?" He asked before crouching down before them. The boy had his arms crossed and he huffed.

"I want to be close to the stage, but she is getting in my way!" He claimed, and Blaze nodded before turning to look at the girl.

"Are you alright?" She looked up at him and sniffled before rubbing her nose and nodding. He nodded in return and turned back to the boy. "You know, you could've just asked instead of shoving her."

The kid pursed his lips, "she wasn't moving fast enough." He claimed moodily.

"I see, well, it wasn't very nice to push her now was it? Is that how your mommy and daddy want you to act?"

"...well no..." he trailed kicking the ground.

"Exactly, so why don't we apologize and make up huh? The stage is big enough for both of you to see." The boy looked reluctant, kicking the ground and shifting on his feet. Blaze paused and thought for a moment, "you know, I had to apologize to someone once. When I was your age actually. And I didn't want to, I thought I was the one who was right and she was wrong." He paused again and took a breath, "we used to fight a lot, argue about different unimportant things. But...when I did, she didn't make me feel bad about it, she forgave me and we became best friends." He looked up at him again, "so apologizing isn't a bad thing and can actually lead to good things you know." The boy paused and looked at the ground and then to the girl who was back on her feet sniffling again. He sighed and looked away, gripping each arm in his hands.

"Fine. I'm sorry Lucy. I shouldn't have shoved you." He muttered, but it was loud enough.

"It's okay Lanyon." She offered a smile, and the kid just grunted in return.

Blaze smiled, straightening a bit, "great job! Now who would like some tokens huh?" At that they both brightened, he smiled and pulled ten out of his pocket, he handed over five each and then stood up. "Alright, now enjoy the show and no more shoving alright?"

"Yes sir!" Lucy smiled before happily counting her tokens, the boy nodded and did the same. The waiter smiled before heading off to one of his tables pulling out his notepad.

Toward the evening, Blaze was cleaning up a table when he spotted a family getting ready to leave.

It was a small family, a mother, a father and their little infant. The mother was fussing over the baby while the man gently reassured her that everything was fine.

The wiping of the table slowed as Blaze stared at them. That familiar weight dropped in his stomach like a cannonball. He wet his lips with a breath and turned to go back to work...trying to ignore how his hands trembled violently.

"Keep it together Blaze...you have half an hour left..." He whispered softly before moving to the next table. Ignoring how his eyes burned.

The sound of the door opening echoed in the empty house and he stepped inside turning around to shut and lock it behind him. Once he did, he didn't turn on the lights, instead the man rested his forehead against the door in front of him and took a deep breath, gripping the knob in a iron like grip.

"Honey...I'm home..." the words were whispered under his breath, they caused his eyes to shut tightly and his grip on the knob to tighten more.

A strange clinking sound made him look down at his hands, both were shaking and clasped around the knob. He watched enamored as his trembling hands made the knob rattle.

Finally he forced himself to pull his hands off it and close them into fists, still they trembled, but slowly they eased as he took deep and purposeful breaths.

"You are fine, you are fine, you will be fine..." he trailed off taking a deep breath before shaking his head and turning away from the door and heading into the empty and dark house.

His feet automatically followed a route he knew, a route that led him to the one place he didn't want to go.

The moonlight was streaming into the window, giving it almost an ethereal look to it.

But the emptiness of the small bed displayed the haunting reality that it was.

"H...hey Felicity..." he whispered before going over to the nightstand and picking up the picture of the little five year old. Wetting his lips he gave a little smile and gripped the frame in his now once again shaking hands. "Daddy had a good day at work today...saw a little girl..." he paused bunching up his shoulders, "she...she scrunches up her nose like you do...like you did." The last part was scarcely whispered and he shut his eyes with a breath. "Her name...her name is Lucy...I think you would've liked her...she had...she had the reddest hair I've ever seen..." he paused before gently placing his hand on the picture. "I...I know how much you liked that color..." a half smile with a breath overtook his face, "just...just like daddy..." he captured his bottom lip in his upper teeth and took a breath pulling the picture to his chest.

There was a strange...emptiness that filtered through his body, invading every spot and leaving a cold absence within it. The lights were out, the only source was from the moon. His eyes burned and his vision grew cloudy as he looked to the ceiling and willed them back. Before finally giving up and wiping them away with his sleeve, and letting out a clotted laugh.

"N...no, no, daddy isn't crying anymore. I promised you and mommy that I wouldn't." He sniffed and rubbed his nose with his sleeve before pulling the picture from his chest and offering a smile. "Let's...lets go get mommy huh?" He left the room and went to the living area. Atop the mantle he picked up another picture frame and sniffed putting them both onto the coffee table. He took a deep breath and went to the kitchen.

"You know, I almost considered skipping dinner today, haven't been able to buy anything...you know, after Samson fired me." He let out a breath and went to the fridge opening it up and grabbing some lunch meat and cheese. As he was opening up the packaging he took another breath and shook his head. "Said...I was too emotionally compromised." He shook his head, "I can still save people from fires...nothing happened with fire." He let out a breath and started rolling up the sliced cheese and meat. "But...regardless, I wasn't sure if I was going to have dinner, but then I remembered how you used to get after me all the time Nishie." He let out a breath shaking his head with a smile. "Stay up till all hours of the night to make sure I got home after work. You always wait with Feli." He continued to make rolls...instinctually making more. "With this job I won't be gone so long, so I won't have to worry you. Plus I can be home more. Maybe we can start eating at the table again." His shoulders slowly released from their tense position. "I'd love to start hearing about your work again, this time I won't be as tired." He paused and then remembered looking up, "oh right! Doesn't Feli have a game this weekend? I don't have to work weekends any….more..." he trailed off staring at the empty and dark living room.

Slowly his shoulders dropped even further and he looked around, as if to ensure that he was alone. Once it was confirmed the man turned quietly back to the rolls...and began undoing the pointless extra ones.

Once they were back in the packaging he went to the cabinet and grabbed the pill bottle, he was a bit late, but it would be fine. He had to take them with food anyways.

"You shouldn't be taking your medication late dear." The sudden voice made him drop the pill bottle, letting the contents spill out everywhere. He looked around with a breath, but spotted no one.

He wet his lips and let out a breath before turning back down to the stuff on the floor. Muttering to himself, the man crouched down and began to gather up the pills taking one as he did so.

Once the mess was cleaned and medication had been taken, the man sat in the living room legs pulled up under him and gazing at the pictures before him. Though after a moment, with a trembling hand he slowly put them face down and bunched up his shoulders.

"I...I'm sorry...I can't look at you right now my loves...I...I have to sleep tonight..."

Darkness settled upon the children's pizzeria. There was a faint humming noise that came from the generator outside, but Freddy had grown use to the mindless buzzing, humming and clanking of all the machinery.

That and the occasional noises those old bots in the back made.

Form his position on stage the bear was able to have a nice venue of the entire front room. Who came in, who went out, and wih the aid of his programming he was able to scan every person that entered the room for a possible criminal.

Was Freddy proud of his advancements over his older model? Most certainly.

There are some things that age well, old animatronics who smell like a garbage truck? That is not one of them.

He thought it was very intelligent of the company to make newer models such as himself and his stage partners.

Especially with that wretched man on the loose.

So, Freddy took his job of searching very seriously. Never will he be caught off guard again, never will he be taken by surprise and never shall something like that ever happen again.

So when the latest night guard waltz into the room with a baseball bat, it instantly made the bear tense up. The man stopped and turned to face the stage, dark hair fell over his face casting it in shadow and making it currently difficult to run a full facial scan.

"Alright you *ers. You can fool everyone during the day with your stupid innocent look, but I know what kind of monsters you are. And if you think I'm going to be easy prey then you are very mistaken." He stated and placed the bat on his shoulder confidently.

If the bear could he would raise an eyebrow.

Humans could be so predictable, so...unintelligent.

Freddy wasn't stupid, he knew there were ways for the humans to beat them, and they did it...for a bit, until of course their due date. It always came and it was never fun for the humans.

Did Freddy or his friends remember all of those times? No, but from descriptions that Jake liked to give him, the bear felt confident that they were getting the job done.

Was the bear always this hostile and confrontational? No, did he think that Jake has influenced his behavior? Certainly.

But was he wrong for feeling threatened by the guards?

No.

Not after what happened.

The bear watched as the human huffed and shook his head.

"This is so stupid for all I know, you guys are just stupid robot on stage..." he huffed and adjusted his bat before heading down the hallway and into the office.

Freddy waited a moment before looking over to his right, where Bonnie stood. The rabbit looked at him and then caught what he was implying, the rabbit rolled his eyes and took a breath.

"Do I really have to go first?" He whined in a whisper. The bear stared at him and mocked a breath.

"Can you please just get into it already? We have been doing this for years now." The bear tried, but the rabbit looked away with a breath.

"I don't know, it just seems kinda weird ya know? We have killed dozens...shouldn't we have gotten him by now?"

"They children are still here! So obviously not! We need to keep going! We owe it to them to get revenge for them." Chica protested, leaning forward to be involved in the conversation. Bonnie mocked a sigh and looked away ears drooping.

"Yeah, yeah whatever."

But all three of them were distracted by the sound of the camera's familiar buzz as it turned to look at them At the sound they all instantly stilled, the music box began to play, there to keep the Puppet at bay.

"Alright...here we go..." Bonnie mumbled without moving his mouth. He waited till the camera light was off and then hopped off the stage.
