Good News Everyone! *coughs and throws Professor Jacket away*

So, This year has started out great! My Sister is Pregnant! (After having 3 miscarriages last year, this was their last attempt), and due this week, My mother just bought a new house and I finally got the job at Ford! I started Monday, Feb. 8th. This year is already so much better than last year. I wanted to get this chapter into you guys and tell you the good news while I was having my training at Ford. I am so not use to the hours. I went from working 3rd shift to 1st for my training. Waking up at 5:30am is such a pain when you've been so use to getting home from work around 5am and not going to sleep until 6-7am. Will take some getting use too. The money though... so nice! I will do my best to get chapters up on the days I am off work.

Also, I want to stress to some of you that the last several chapters have happened in the course of 24 hours. Even in the series this was a bit of a down time for action and the like. So dont worry too much if there isnt enough action going on at the moment. Things will start picking back up in the next few chapters, I promise!

Chapter 15: Affections

She woke up the next morning to a cold, wet nose prodding her cheek, and hot smelly breath upon her skin.

It smelled so bad!

"Ah, gross!"

Bolting up, Kagome coughed and glared down at Remy, who was looking at her with his head slightly tilted and his massive tail wagging lazily on the floor. A look on his face clearly saying "What? I have to pee!".

Rolling her eye's, she moved the covers off of her, taking note that Daryl wasn't in his bed. She sensed him in the bathroom though. As she stood up, she looked at her watch and noticed that it was nearly eight in the morning.

"Guess everyone is already up and about." She mused. She looked back to Remy who had moved to sit next to the door. He nosed the handle once and gave her a quiet "Woof", as if to tell her to hurry up.

Laughing, Kagome held her hands up. "I'm coming, sorry! I know you've been waiting for a while now." She changed shirts really quick and opened the door and made her way down stairs. As she walked by the kitchen, she saw Maggie and Beth making some breakfast.

Waving to them and saying "Good Morning", getting two responses in return, she opened the front door to let Remy out, who sped past her, Souta, and Chouko who were on the porch.

When they saw Remy run past them, both teens turned around and jumped up as soon as they saw her.

"Kagome!"

"Sis!"

Laughing, Kagome hugged Chouko and messed up Souta's hair, noting how long it was getting. "Well good morning!"

Swatting her hand away, Souta looked her up and down. "How are you feeling?" He asked. Though he already knew the answer, he couldn't help but ask. He had already seen Daryl and could tell that his sister had worked on him after Hershel and the others left last night.

"Wade said that you got hurt pretty bad, are you sure you should be up and walking?" Chouko asked in worry.

Rubbing her side where the arrow went through, she smiled at both of them. "I'm feeling much better, Hershel did a great job fixing me up." She explained. "Besides, you know how quickly I bounce back." She added.

"That's true! I wish I was that lucky Kagome! You and Souta always seem to be alright right after you get hurt." Chouko said, a small pout on her face.

Giving the young girl a strained smile, Kagome nodded. "Yeah. We're just lucky." She really wished she could tell her the real reason why.

Maybe one day she could.

Glancing at Souta, she noticed him giving Chouko a look that reminded her all too much of her days in the past, when she had feelings for a certain silver haired half-demon. She didn't want to get her hopes up too much, what with the world they were living in and all, however...

She wanted to see the two of them together, and she would do everything she could to make it happen and make it last as long as possible.

Placing her hands on both their heads, she messed up both of their hair. She got twin sets of "Hey!" in response.

Laughing, she turned , only to smack into a iron hard chest and was instantly engulfed in a hug. Getting a glance of shaggy blonde hair, Kagome yelped into Greg's chest and tried to push away from him, but to no avail.

She felt his chuckle and heard Souta and Chouko laughing behind her.

Finally able to move her face so it wasn't buried in his chest, she took a much needed breath and glared up at Greg. "Give a girl a warning next time, will ya!?" She growled out.

Laughing hard, Greg lessened his hold on her, his hands were still on her shoulders though. "Sorry Darlin', I couldn't help myself. It's not ever'day that a young pretty girl runs into my chest, ya know?" He said with a wink.

He laughed again when she tried to smack him, he moved out of the way to avoid it, barely.

"Still need to give me a warning." She huffed, a slight blush on her face.

"Yeah, yeah." He then turned serious. "How are ya feelin' though? Ya seemed to be in a lot of pain last night." He asked, and looked at where he knew her wound was.

"I am feeling much better, thank you for asking. Hershel did a good job at patching me up."

Nodding, Greg huffed. "I still want to kick that good fer nothin's ass fer allowing ya to get hurt. Wade won't let me though." He ground out, crossing his arms across his chest. "You should of told us that you were goin' out also little Missy." He said, messing up her hair like she did with Souta and Chouko earlier, which she forgot to brush when she woke up since she was rushing to let Remy out.

Pushing his hand away, she ignored Souta and Chouko's giggles and did her best to fix her messy hair. "I already know, next time I will be sure to let you guys know I will be going out and with who." She promised.

Nodding, Greg noticed the two horses that Kagome and Daryl rode the day before running across the field towards the stables. Both horses ran past Patricia, who was pushing a wheel barrel down the driveway towards the other barn.

He resisted the urge to shiver.

"That barn gives me the creeps for some reason." He whispered to Kagome, changing the subject.

Following his line of vision, Kagome got the same feeling from the barn that she got last night. There was something completely off about it.

It almost felt like...

Shaking her head, she placed her hand on Greg's shoulder. "Me too, however, this is Hershel's property. We really don't have any right to pry about it."

Souta took a long look at the barn too. If his sister and Greg had a bad feeling about something, it was best to be wary of what ever it was. He may not be able to feel things like his sister could, but there was definitely something off about the barn.

Both Teens and Adults watched as Patricia took the wheel barrel to the back of the barn.

It really wasn't their business though.

Turning to look back at the others, Kagome placed a hand on Greg's shoulder and gave it a gentle squeeze. "If he feels comfortable with us, he will tell us what the deal is on his own."

Nodding stiffly, Greg stretched. "Yeah, I'm just hoping that he tells us soon. I'm not sure how much longer I can keep m'self from lookin' in it myself." He said, spotting Wade, he ran his hand through his shaggy hair. "Well, Wade and I were suppose to make a run for another vehicle today. However, with what happened with ya yesterday, we decided to hold off for a day or so until ya got better."

"Why don't you and Wade just go on ahead and go?" Kagome asked.

"Well-"

"They want you to be with them, sis." Souta interrupted.

Raising an eyebrow, she looked at her brother, whom she noticed was looking to where Remy was doing his business by a bush. "Why would I need to be with them to get another vehicle?" She asked.

"That is because the seventeenth is coming up." He answered.

Kagome blinked. "Ok? Why woul- Oh."

The 17th was her birthday.

Now it made sense. She completely forgot about her birthday.

She flushed when they all laughed her.

"Good Job forgetting your own birthday, Sis." Souta said between laughs.

She huffed. "Shut up! Its not like I haven't had a lot going on lately, what with the end of the world and all!" She grumbled.

Hearing the front door opening, they all saw Maggie walk out with a basket with fruit and jerky in it.

She gave all of them a nod in greeting before she made her way to where they saw Glenn at under a tree.

Raising an eyebrow, Greg leaned down and whispered to Kagome. "Do ya think they're gonna hook up or somethin'?"

Shrugging, Kagome watched Maggie hand the basket to Glenn. "Maybe, I saw them in the barn last night before I went to sleep." She replied.

Nodding, Greg stood up at his full height and looked at Souta and Chouko. "I know some other love birds that are going to hook it up soon."

At Souta and Chouko's confused looks, him and Kagome couldn't help but chuckle.

Chouko tilted her head to the side and looked at Souta. "What do you think he means by that?"

Souta shook his head and shrugged. "Heck if I know. You know that him and Kag's are the weirdo's of our group."

His reply was dual sets of "Hey!"

Laughing, both teens ran to where they could see Wade by the Rav.
