Spending the night away
Kate asked for a oneshot of David being in a bad mood because he's informed Emma will be spending the night at a boyfriend's when they've just started dating a few weeks prior.
"I'm just saying that I still don't trust the guy. I mean, can you really blame me?"
"David…"
"Oh come on Snow! They haven't even been together that long. I'm just worried he's taking advantage of her. Or that he's going to hurt her. Or both. Maybe I should go round there and give him a piece of my mind…"
"David, stop." Snow said. She thought it was adorable when he went into overprotective dad mode, but she also knew Emma wouldn't find it so adorable if her dad went round there and threw his weight around. "Emma is a big girl. Like it or lump it, she can make her own decisions about where she chooses to spend her evenings."
"It's not the evening I'm worried about. It's the night." David grumbled. Snow smiled.
"Give him a chance? For Emma. She really likes him. She wouldn't be wanting to stay there tonight if she didn't. She obviously thinks he's changed for good. He's certainly provided enough evidence to suggest he has. Give him a bit of a break." Snow tried. David scoffed.
"When it comes to Emma I won't give anyone a break. Not even if he was a saint. I'd still be cautious and I know if she ends up hurt I'll find an arrow in his heart before my sword can reach his head." David pointed out. Snow laughed.
"Well that might be true, but I don't think I'll be needing my quiver tonight." She ran a finger down his chest. "Just think, it means we have the house to ourselves? No interruptions?" Snow reminded him. David sighed. He did like that part. Snow reached up and kissed him before he could begin overthinking again. Damn, she was good.
