Hello again, Trickery here with another story.

This is something I have been writing about on and off for the past year.

A crossover between two of my favourite series.

This story will be a quick romp, and likely only be around 30k words.

This is also technically an AU on the Naruto side. Not much is different, I just specifically wanted to use a set of characters that were not in the same spot during the Naruto manga.

Disclaimer: I do not own Naruto or Bleach series.

Where is your courage when the world calls out for you?

Ichigo

Ichigo left the ghost behind. She seemed content enough to stay around for a while. He would check with her in a few days and see if she changed her tune. Then, he would send her off to Soul Society.

Ichigo frowned, she would end up in Rukongai. If she was lucky she would start off in one of the better districts, if not then her staying here might be the better alternative. It wasn't something he thought about often, but Rukongai wasn't much of an afterlife.

He sighed, stretching his arms above his head as he made his way to the corner store. A bottle of water, a snack and he would be on his way home.

Ichigo stepped inside the store, inside was the owner standing behind the counter and a teen, not much older then him.

"So, the population of this place is around thirty thousand?" asked the blonde, head buried in a magazine.

Ichigo walked past him as he entered the store, his eyes lingering on the weird sandals he wore. Spiky blonde hair, an orange coat and sandals made for a weird sense of style. The teen's body froze for a second as he passed, before he continued reading. A traveller then, likely some punk kid from Europe on a gap year.

"Yeah, around that mark. You might want to check some of the stats books we have in the back. " The shop owner said, nodding at Ichigo as he passed. "Do you really need to know simple stuff like that? Go out kid and enjoy the good weather."

"It's nice, but I have more important things to do." The blonde said, paying for the magazine and then leaving the store. As the teen walked out of view he gave one last look into the store, his gaze locking with Ichigo's before he disappeared from view.

"Kids," the shopkeeper muttered and then turned to Ichigo. "What are you having?"

"Just this." Ichigo placed a water bottle and two chocolate bars for Karin and Yuzu. "The foreigner giving you any trouble?"

"Nope, but he comes here every day this week and reads through my magazines. He sometimes pays for something or just leaves." The shopkeeper checked out the items.

"Weird, I thought he was a traveller passing through?" Ichigo paid the man, glancing outside the window at where the teen had disappeared.

"Yeah, he is. The blond hair gave it away, he has the weird accent foreigners usually have." The shopkeeper frowned. "Probably staying in one of the hostels."

"Thanks," Ichigo nodded and then headed out the door. He turned to his home, a few streets away and he would be there. Something forced him to stop and look back down the street.

Ichigo found the blonde walking away, a slight swagger in his steps. Something felt off about him, something weird. Ichigo wasn't good at reading a person's Reiatsu but it would be a good idea to check. He narrowed his eyes at the blonde, a moment later a thin aura surrounded the teen.

Ichigo sighed and turned away, nothing special. A bit stronger than the normal person, but nothing to worry about. When he turned back to the blonde he found him gone, without a trace.

"What the hell?" Ichigo whispered, the teen had been on an empty street. Nowhere near close to the next intersection. "Maybe he is staying nearby."

Ichigo turned and left, mind filing the information away about the kid. He needed to get home, relax for a bit and then head off on patrol.

Yoruichi

The Kurosaki residence was becoming a familiar haunt for Yoruichi again. She quickly entered the house via one of the open windows, her feline form giving her ample space. Noise from the first floor alerted her, she made her way up the stairs and into Ichigo's bedroom. The boy was rummaging through his closet, throwing out magazines and books, none holding his attention for long.

"What are you looking for Ichogo?" Yoruichi asked, sitting on top of his bedside table.

"Gah, Yoruichi!" Ichigo asked, spinning around on his knees and glaring at her. "How did you get in?"

"The open window downstairs, you should really look into closing them more often." Yoruichi tilted her head. "You can't tell what type of unscrupulous character may enter."

"As long as it is you and not Urahara," Ichigo stood and moved over to the chair. "Though at least I can sense Urahara, unlike you."

"I am a few hundred years old Ichigo, get a little bit more experience and you might be able to sense me." Yoruichi said, smiling up at the boy. "Though, that is not why I am here, as fun as it would be to tease you while on patrol. Rukia has that covered; I can focus on other things."

"What's wrong?" Ichigo asked, taking out his substitute badge from his desk draw. His Reiatsu grew, as if ready for an attack.

"You don't need to be so worried now, but I thought it would be best to inform you." Yoruichi jumped from her perch on the desk and landed on the bed gracefully. "There have been a number of murders in the city, the police have been involved."

Ichigo could be a hardhead sometimes, but his Reiatsu calmed at her words. For that Yoruichi was grateful, he had come a long way from his first few months of being a Death God.

"That sucks, I hope they catch whoever it is. I will be careful and tell Karin and Yuzu, but I doubt my dad will listen." Ichigo smiled. "I think anyone that wants to kill me will have a hard time."

"That's fine," Yoruichi replied. "But that is not all, something more sinister is going on. Hollows in increasing numbers are being sighted, that's why your patrols have become a little bit more exciting."

"Yeah, I know. But they are usually not strong; I can clear through them easily." Ichigo frowned. "The police will catch the killer and then everything will go back to normal."

"We can hope. For tonight I will be joining you on patrol. I can keep an eye out for anything suspicious." Yoruichi said, licking her paw.

"You really think something will happen?" Ichigo asked.

"Maybe, there shouldn't be so many incursions by multiple Hollows. I wonder if it is related to Aizen or something else." Yoruichi said, eyes narrowing. "We will have to see in the coming days, but it almost seems like someone is using Hollow bait in the area.

Kisuke hadn't been able to track anything, just the increase in activity. Then the killings had started, four in as many days. Kisuke thought there was some type of connection, but Yoruichi wasn't so sure.

"Like Ishida did before you think? Someone might have acquired his things or it is someone new in the area." Ichigo said. "I'll talk to Ishida tomorrow; he'll tell me if anything is missing."

"Good idea Ichigo, we doubt it is anything but it is good to be prepared." Yoruichi said.

Yoruichi

Yoruichi slammed her paw onto the Hollows mask, breaking it apart. The Hollow screamed as it was seen careening into the ground, grass and dirt flying up at the impact. Yoruichi smirked from her position on top of a streetlamp, the weak hollow was child's play for her cat form.

In the distance, Ichigo dealt with the stronger, faster Hollows. He easily cut his way through their ranks, their numbers dwindled as the minutes passed until finally there were none.

"Come Ichigo, I expected you to be faster." Yoruichi said, rubbing her paw along her head. "These were simple Hollows, and you have fought captains. Don't let your guard down, wipe them out as quickly as possible."

"I know, I was just relaxing a little in between the fighting." Ichigo said, floating down.

"If you do that too much then your blade will dull, " Yoruichi said. "Always be on your guard, always look for the perfect opportunity and most important of all, always keep your mind clear."

"I know, I know. But I think coming back from Soul Society to this is just strange, the experience is different." Ichigo said, gazing off into the distance. "The fighting isn't as intense, where a mistake could lead to my death."

Yoruichi frowned, that was not the type of talk she wanted with Ichigo. Aizen loomed in the distance, the threat of another Espada incursion and his own issues with his Zanpakuto. She shook her head; she needed to remember that he was still a teen and not someone that was a hundred years old. He was still growing, still getting used to his body and powers. The Hollow mask was another thing she needed to talk to him about, they might need help from Shinji.

"It's fine, we do this patrol tonight and then you can take the rest of the week off. Enjoy your weekend with your friends, go out and party." Yoruichi replied.

"Hey! I don't need to be coddled, this isn't a big issue. I just need to focus more –" Ichigo whipped his head to the side.

More Hollows are appearing, that's more then usual. Yoruichi thought, frowning. A dozen Hollows ripped through the dimensional fabric and appeared a few miles south of their position.

"Two major Hollow incursions in one night," Yoruichi muttered. Irritation bubbled within her, the constant attacks and threats. Karakura was becoming a battlefield. Her fur rose, and her tail swished back and forth.

"I'll deal with them," Ichigo said. He disappeared in a Shunpo, his Reiatsu already a few hundred feet away.

"Ichigo!" Yoruichi growled, the boy was a little impulsive at times. "Need to rein him in or he could fall into one of Aizen's traps."

Yoruichi followed after Ichigo, jumping from roof to roof. Her feline was more limited than her humanoid one, but hopefully she wouldn't be too far behind Ichigo.

A scream ripped through the air, a few nearby birds flew off their perches. Yoruichi stopped and glanced around the rooftop she was on. Her ears twitched, one perk of her feline form was that it provided better hearing.

A few streets away there was heavy breathing, followed by the patter of feet. The steps were uneven, as if the person was haphazardly running. Her ears twitched again, another person was following.

"What's going on," Yoruichi muttered. Ichigo was on the other side of a park, travelling toward a distant set of apartment buildings. "Someone get involved in a fight, or something else?"

Yoruichi moved from the rooftop, jumping down to the drains and then the fences as she followed along. Alley cats ran away from her, dogs barked in the distance and she even heard the croaks of frogs from somewhere. She frowned, the second person was casually following after the first, as if they had no care in the world. The first person, a man judging by the breathing, heavy footsteps and few muttered words. His heart beat rapidly in his chest, he stumbled through the alleyways, knocking over trash cans and other rubbish. The man came into view, just as he collapsed against the back of a bakery.

"Interesting, the creatures are drawn away tonight. With the amount of chakra I put into the area I would have thought they would devour you. It matters not, this deviation from the norm is worth investigating." Said the second man, stopping a few streets away from the first man. "You run in setbacks and problems, but they are to be overcome."

Yoruichi's eyes widened as the figure came into full view. A silver-haired man casually walked through the alley, his glasses glinting against the dim streetlights. He pulled out a small blade from his pocket, a Japanese kunai. He stepped around the corner and found the first man cowering against the wall.

"Get away from me!" The man screamed, scrambling along the wall toward Yoruichi.

"Now, now Kenta. You agreed to this, investigating the issues that plagues this fair city with me, it just so happens you would be the guinea pig for one of my experiments." The silver hair man said, brandishing the knife.

"No, damn you! I just felt things, nothing else and thought you were the same." Kenta said, spitting flying out of his mouth. He slowly made his way to the fence Yoruichi sat at. Blood dripped down the front of his shirt, his dark hair was a mess and snot dripped from his nose.

"You feel things, but I see them. Grotesque creatures that require further investigation, where did they come from and why are they here."

Yoruichi frowned and then meowed; the silver haired man glanced up at her before returning his gaze to Kenta. Yoruichi smiled at the other benefit of her feline form. She needed to step in to stop Kenta from dying, he was obviously involved in the killings and could help answer a few things. Ichigo was on the other side of the park and would be no help; it was down to her to stop this.

Yoruichi needed to save Kenta, if only to find out what this other man was up to. Her nose twitched, the amount of energy in the air was almost suffocating. It wasn't Reiatsu. She had never felt anything like it, was he another type of empowered human. They all seemed to be coming out of the woodwork lately, she shook her hair and tried to focus on the present.

Yoruichi needed to save Kenta.

"This is the end," the man said. He swung with the knife, right at Kenta's neck.

Yoruichi leaped from her perch, claws raking across the man's forearm. Blood spurted out from the wound as the silver-haired man jumped back. At the same time his knife pulled up against the force of motion, slicing into her paw.

The man landed on the ground, several metres away from her. A frown etched on his face.

Yoruichi hissed, making herself as small as possible as she licked the wound. It wasn't life threatening, but this changed things. He definitely was superhuman, his actions proved as much. He shouldn't have been able to strike her, not with the angle she was attacking. Another empowered human, but one that didn't seem to have much of an idea of what Hollows were.

"I didn't expect you to be frightened by that," the man walked forward. "Jumping down so recklessly, now you got yourself hurt. Poor kitty."

Yoruichi backed away. She couldn't do much else in this form and it would take a while to transform back to her humanoid self. Kenta had not moved from his position, still breathing heavily as he looked.

Get away you idiot. Yoruichi thought, with a little heat.

"You're not a simple cat are you? A cat would have run off by now, limping away." More energy erupted out of the man, covering his body in a soft aura. "Are you someone's summon, the shaking of your head earlier does make me think that. Have the ninja's followed me?"

Yoruichi froze, warily examining his form. She was stuck between a rock and a hard place.

"No answer, very well. I will get it out of you, I am fairly good at interrogating." The man threw his knife at Yoruichi, it slammed into her previous spot as she jumped.

Yoruichi ran through the alley, hissing as pain swept up her leg. More kunai followed after her, sinking into the ground or walls as she passed. She needed to get out of here, gather herself before attacking again.

"Not so fast," The man appeared in front of her in a burst of inhuman speed. He threw another kunai at Yoruichi, causing her to jump out of the way.

Yoruichi's leap wasn't far enough, and the man managed to tag her with his fingers.

"Argh!" Yoruichi screamed, unable to keep the pain at bay. She landed on the ground a few feet away from the silver-haired man, both her front legs injured in some way. Her left arm from the knife attack earlier and now somehow the muscles in her right leg were not responding.

"So, I was correct. You are a summon, but who's?" He turned to look back down the alleyway, where Kenta's retreating footsteps could be heard. "No point in thinking about it now, let's capture you and then I can deal with Kenta."

The man turned to pick up Yoruichi, she hissed at him. She wasn't in any position to fight back, but her cat form was now useless. The bindings on her feline form were slowly ravelling, she just needed a few more sections to get into her human form. Yoruichi could then -

"Yoruichi!" Ichigo screamed, slamming down on the ground a few feet away.

The air erupted along the alleyway, buffeting Yoruichi. She breathed a sigh of relief as the man was forced back along the alley, the tension flowing out of her body as Ichigo stood up to his full height. Zangetsu slung over one shoulder, anger radiating from his form. His clothes bellowed behind him against the wind, cold eyes gazed down at her assailant.

"Are you okay, Yoruichi?" Ichigo asked, glancing at her.

"I'm fine Ichigo, but take him down." Yoruichi shouted, as the man retreated down the alley.

"On it," Ichigo rushed down the alleyway.

Yoruichi sighed, the feeling returning to her right leg as Ichigo disappeared. The boy was headstrong, but she needed that right now. Once she had adequate feeling back in her limbs she followed after Ichigo. Only the higher ranks of the Fourth division and some within the Second knew how to use Reiatsu to disable specific muscles within a person. That this man did it so casually worried Yoruichi.

"Where is he?" Yoruichi asked Ichigo as he stood on a streetlamp a few minutes later. She gingerly jumped up to the fence beneath, licking her paw.

"I don't know, he disappeared." Ichigo growled, his eyes surveying the area. "I can't feel him at all."

"Neither can I." Ichigo's ability to sense acutely was dismal, but it gnawed at Yoruichi that the man had evaded her as well. "He was quick, not a normal human."

"Are you sure, I did feel something weird from him." Ichigo replied. "It wasn't Reiatsu, but something else."

"Yeah, it blanketed the -" Yoruichi froze as a scream ripped through the air. "Let's go Ichigo!"

Yoruichi jumped onto Ichigo's back just as he Shunpo'ed away, appearing next to an apartment building.

"Shit, we're too late." Yoruchi said as she jumped off Ichigo's shoulder and landed on the ground before Kenta. His neck had been sliced open, his eyes opened wide in horror.

"Damnit!" Ichigo said, his Reiatsu tinged with anger.

"Let's head back before the police come, we can't really help any more." Yoruichi said, glancing around. The murderer's energy had disappeared just as abruptly as it had started.
