Hi guys, I know some of you may be disappointed by this news, but I'll go ahead and say it… There will be no pairing any time soon for this story, Why? Because as some reviewers pointed out, Kakashi is technically in his 40s, so that's a no for student pairing.
"What about Glynda or Raven or someone cool like that?" you ask… Well this time, it's the other way around, Kakashi is physically around 17, and pairing him with someone in their 30s or 40s, now that just makes the adult look bad.
'Soon' is the keyword though, this story is not yet 100% planned out, so who knows, maybe there will be a pairing, just much later.
So for now, we are gonna stick with the crush on Kakashi formula. Also to "Guest" Kakashi wears his Inu mask regularly just in case he has to use the sharingan.
Also I'm sorry that this took so long, the "Quick Break" turned into a decently long one. Sorry, just had a bit too much fun playing CS:GO, watching Gintama and reading Komi-san, the quarantine really leveled up my procrastinating
Let the chapter begin!
Kakashi was once more sitting on the rooftop of the dorms of Beacon Academy, this had become his favorite pastime. Not because he needed to relax, sure that was part of it, but that was not the main reason for his regular nighttime breaks up in the roof.
It was to think, to process all the information he had, to make plans for the future and most importantly, to talk. But not to Blake who seemed to regularly 'stumble' upon him, but rather to talk to them. By them, he meant, Obito, Rin, and his Sensei.
One of the problems with leaving his world was the lack of a memorial stone to give his respects. So his solution? To go the rooftops at night and just talk to them. Silently of course, lest Blake 'stumble' upon him while speaking to them.
step step step
Footsteps. Those same footsteps he always heard about half the time he sat up here. Looking behind him, again, the usual sight of Blake in her yukata, except this time, clearly wearing a bra underneath. She had heeded Kakashi's warnings.
"Why do you always have to come up here? It feels like you go up here since you want to see me and not the night sky" Kakashi said with a half teasing, half serious voice.
Blake's face became stained with a reddish hue. "N- No. It's nothing like that… I just wanted to talk to you about a while ago."
"So you did want to see me?" Kakashi deadpanned
Blake rubbed the side of her head as the blush grew. "Y-Yeah."
"So what did you want to talk about?" Kakashi looked back to the sky as Blake took a few steps forward.
"I just want to ask, why did you do that a while ago? I mean, I knew that you didn't hate the faunus, but I never knew that you would actually take action."
Kakashi let out a quick sigh
"What's the point of discriminating against those who are simply different based on physical features? But that's a different topic. The reason I acted was because I can't stand people who choose to abuse their power and use said power to abuse the weak, especially for such a bad reason as being of a different race."
She smirked and relaxed as she too stared at the night sky.
"So why haven't you told them yet?"
"Tell them what?" Blake acted confused, but she already knew what Kakashi meant
"That you're a faunus who was previously part of the White Fang."
Blake's smirk faded as she tried to find an answer.
"I… I'm worried of what they'll think of me, I know that they don't hate the faunus, but I'm afraid that as soon as they find out I was a former member, they will hate me. I'm worried, that they're not like you, that they won't accept me as a person."
Kakashi sighed for the second time tonight.
"Don't worry, I'm sure, that they would accept it, after all, I think the only person who would have a problem is Weiss, since she would be the only person directly affected by the White Fang.
"How so?" Blake said with a slight amount of confusion in her voice
"She's a Schnee, her family is a known oppressor of the faunus. So I'm assuming the White Fang attacked them the most, correct?"
Blake nodded her head with a slight amount of guilt.
"Then I don't believe I have to explain why Weiss would resent the White Fang. But, I've met people who have better reasons to resent someone, yet they snapped out of it, so I'm sure Weiss can do the same."
A waft of cold air passed.
"Well then, It's about time we go in. With the amount of times you follow me up here, I'm sure the others will think that we're doing stuff."
Not minding Blake's reaction, Kakashi walked downstairs.
"Can you explain why you made us all gather here so early in the morning?" Ruby asked while rubbing her eyes
Saturday morning, team White Knight were in a small clearing in the Emerald Forest, Kakashi had woken all four of them up at 7am and told them to get in their battle gear.
He found out from Ozpin that there was a part of the forest that absolutely no Grimm went to, the reason was unknown, but Kakashi, with his mild sensory abilities, felt it.
It was Chakra, there was a faint amount of chakra scattered throughout this part of the forest, the reason was unknown to him, the time of Ninshu should have passed tens of thousands of years ago. Contrary to what he originally believed, the trees weren't the cause for this, he had originally thought, that Hashirama Senju had created this part of the forest, but after doing some thinking, he remembered that the Rikudou Sennin of this world had changed the course of history.
So the existence of Hashirama Senju in this world was actually something up to debate.
But why did Kakashi call his teammates here?
He had something planned.
"I called you all here to determine your skills on a test."
Yang found the energy to finally speak
"A test? In the middle of a forest?"
Kakashi shook his head
"Not a written test, I think 'Practical Examination' would be better way to refer to it. I will be testing your collective skills in battle, I plan on improving your teamwork."
After saying this, he pulled up four white bells, he bought a lot of them before he went to Beacon.
"The test will be a bell test, the four of you will try to take these bells. Those who are not able to get a bell, will be given a punishment."
The girls seemed to be annoyed with this.
"I believe that the initiation was too easy, Ozpin claimed that death was possible, yet I did not feel the threat of death a single time."
Kakashi looked at the four of them, observing them.
"So how does this work? We just fight?"
"Yes, but I'll give you time to plan and hide. If you have no more questions, we'll start now."
All the girl shook their head to signify that they didn't have any.
"Alright then"
Kakashi threw a kunai attached with a paper bomb at a nearby tree.
"That is rigged to explode in 60 seconds, you can use half of that time to plan and the other half to hide, that's just my suggestion, do whatever you want. Check your scrolls every now and then, if your aura hits the red, you're out.
The four girl huddled up as whispers and mumbles were heard on Kakashi's end.
Kakashi took the time to put on the inu mask, as well as activating the Sharingan. He was going to fight seriously.
The test was meant to test and improve their teamwork, this was not to improve their skills, although it would be nice if that happened. Kakashi knew it himself that the girls had absolutely no chance of beating him, but he had confidence that they would at least try do something good.
He then tied the bells to his waist. The girl seemed to be finished planning.
The explosion finally happened, covering Kakashi in smoke.
Ruby and Weiss instantly took off into the forest, leaving Blake and Yang standing in front of the cloud of smoke
"Strange, you hid the one with the speed semblance and kept out the one with skills in stealth."
The two girls in front of him didn't speak, they didn't even move.
"Fight me with Intent to kill. Or else you won't win, even if hell froze over."
Another pause.
"Well, since none of you are moving, I guess I'll take the offensive."
Kakashi suddenly appeared out of the smoke, holding a kunai in each hand.
Blake loaded Gambol Shroud with Ice dust.
'Just stick to the plan.' Yang kept repeating in her mind.
Kakashi stabbed a kunai into Blake's torso.
But no blood came out, instead, what seemed to be shards of ice flew through the air.
Blake used her semblance, to leave a clone of ice in her Place.
The strength of his stab caused his whole hand to be implanted into the ice, Kakashi was stuck.
Yang readied her fist and released her strength at her target, his face.
Blake ducked under and attempted to grab the bells.
Their plan was to trap Kakashi in ice, then have Yang punch him and Blake grab all the bells, the other two hiding was a fail-safe, for the off chance that he escaped. It was a good plan, if they weren't fighting Kakashi.
As Yang's fist met "Kakashi's" face, she smiled. 'finally' she thought. She had been waiting for this moment since Kakashi beat her at the club.
But her smile was completely wiped off from her face when "Kakashi" turned into a poof of smoke.
There was nobody there.
From behind her Yang could her something emerge from underground, it was the real Kakashi, but before the real Kakashi could do anything, a sweeping sound was heard behind him, it was a beam of ice dust, courtesy of Weiss.
Yang's smile returned, but again as the ice hit, Kakashi turned into smoke.
Another sound was heard, from something emerging from underground, but it was far off, the sound was not coming from anywhere near Yang or Blake.
It was from somewhere within the forest.
"AHHHHH!"
A high pitched shriek was heard from within the forest.
"Tch, he tricked us, he allowed Weiss to shoot his clone so that he can determine her position." Blake said as she loaded some more dust into Gambol Shroud
They both checked their scrolls, Weiss's aura only had a tiny sliver left.
Yang seemed to scowl a bit, they had been outsmarted, in fact, when did Kakashi get clones? This guy is just way too powerful.
"How did he even deal with Weiss that quick?"
"A surprise attack, Weiss definitely didn't expect him to appear, must have been caught off guard." Blake answered
Grass rustling suddenly echoed throughout the clearing, it was Kakashi with an unconscious Weiss slung over his left shoulder.
"You could've put them right in front of me, and that wouldn't have made much of a difference. What you could have done was have Weiss and Ruby shoot at me while you and Blake rush at me from the front." He took a pause to let out a quick sigh "Your planning and strategy need improvement."
Yang pouted "Isn't it your job as a leader to do all the, you know, leading."
"Who's to say that I will always be with the four of you, you'll have to learn how to fight and plan for yourselves."
He laid down Weiss on the ground.
Seconds passed, with Kakashi doing absolutely nothing.
Yang casually twirled her hair with her finger.
'That's the signal.' A nearby Ruby, thought.
A shot was fired at Kakashi.
Kakashi jumped up so high that it looked like he flew.
Kakashi pulled out three shuriken and threw them at Ruby who was perched on a tree branch.
Ruby fired at all three shuriken midair, causing them to either shatter or lose force.
Kakashi had finally landed on the ground,
Ruby took the sudden stop in motion as an opportunity to fire multiple times at Kakashi.
He flipped backwards continuously to avoid every single shot.
But before he could continue his acrobatics, he noticed a rock behind him, so he was forced to stop.
Ruby fired once more, aiming at Kakashi's leg.
He took a step to the right, avoiding the dust bullet.
Ruby fired once more, Kakashi jumped up and landed on the Rock behind him.
Another bullet soared through the air, ready to land on its target.
Kakashi jumped up one final time, placing his hand in his tool pouch, he readied his attack, this time intending for it to do what he wanted it to do.
He threw four shuriken.
Ruby readied her gun, but right before her eyes, the four shuriken suddenly turned into hundreds as a quiet "Shuriken Kage Bunshin no Jutsu" was heard from Kakashi.
Ruby was sitting on a tree branch, so she couldn't exactly run away. Her only option now was to defend and hope that her aura holds up.
Ruby stood up and transformed Crescent Rose into its scythe form.
As the shuriken enclose on her, she twirled her scythe as fast as she could, this deflected a good amount of the shuriken, but some of the shuriken weren't caught in her defense, the stray shuriken were cutting into her clothes and aura as her arms started to tire and the spinning slowed.
More and more shuriken hit her, her aura finally hitting the red as no more shuriken were left in the air
Kakashi called to her
"Ruby out!"
Ruby slowly descended down the tree.
Yang charged at Kakashi with as much speed as she could muster, she reared her fist and fired a shotgun enforced strike at Kakashi who ducked under it.
As he ducked he heard a gun fire, realizing it was Blake, his sharingan got to work as it searched for the bullet midair.
Kakashi grabbed the bullet and all the ensuing bullets that Blake fired.
Now with his hand full of bullets, he rolled forward and stood up.
He avoided Yang, fist once more.
Kakashi had an idea, though he didn't know if it would work, he tried it anyway.
He channeled lightning chakra into his right hand, which was where the bullets were. Once he felt the bullets surging with lightning, he threw them at Yang.
The bullets spread out in a web-like formation, the lightning in all the bullets connected, creating a literal web of lightning that electrocuted Yang.
This did more than damage her aura, it knocked her out, it certainly wasn't enough to kill her.
The lightning wasn't that that strong, and it certainly wouldn't cause any long term damage.
The only one left was Blake who Kakashi ran at.
Blake did the same.
Blake had already lost all hope in fighting as soon as she saw Yang unconscious. Knowing that Kakashi was better than Adam, there was absolutely no hope in her winning, so she might as well give up now, but she wasn't going to.
She attempted a to slash him with Gambol Shroud, but...
Kakashi kicked her so fast, that his leg appeared as blur to Blake as she was launched thirty meters into the distance.
"And Blake's out"
Kakashi let out a quick sigh for the second time today. Yang woke up.
"Well none of you got a bell after all, you four failed miserably. So you will be getting a punishment." Kakashi wanted to teach them the value of comrades soon, just not now, since he was not sure how to teach that lesson without as big a looming threat as possible expulsion.
Kakashi had actually already thought of a punishment for the girls. It was a punishment from back in Konoha.
"None of you will eat breakfast."
They actually had not eaten dinner the previous day due to an "emergency" which was really just Kakashi losing one of his Icha Icha books and asking them to look for them. So their hunger was amplified.
This was followed by groans of frustration.
"Aaaaaand done." Kakashi had finished untying Weiss from the tree that he had tied her to. He had tied all four of them up on a nearby tree for hours, occasionally letting them drink water.
The four girls stayed quiet, they had no energy to speak, they just wanted to go run to the Cafeteria and eat, which was what they did.
Kakashi watched the four woman seemingly disappear into the distance of the paved road. He slowly walked this road as well, but he was not going to the cafeteria, he was going to meet Ozpin, he was finally going to get his monthly allowance of 5,000 lien. Perfect since, it was a weekend and he really wanted to experiment with dust.
Arriving at Ozpin's office, Kakashi opened the door. It was a large room, with different design features and decorations. The Headmaster's office felt more like a daimyo's headquarters, it was even greater in quality, size and design when compared to the Hokage office. But Kakashi was not here to gawk at the office, no, he was here for the money.
"Welcome Mr. Hatake, Professor Ozpin is currently busy, but he left me with the lien."
Glynda Goodwitch, the headmistress of the school stood right next to the desk of the missing Headmaster, in her hand were five purple plastic cards.
Kakashi walked up to her, politely took them and pocketed them.
"Ariga- I mean, thank you." With this, Kakashi left the room and began his journey to the dorm. Though he did take a break to read at some point during his walk. He read two Icha Icha books in only two hours, which might seem impressive to average person, but to him, it was pretty average.
Opening the door to his dorm, Kakashi found all the girl laying in their respective beds, all of them doing different things. Ruby and Yang were playing some game on their scrolls as controllers pointed to a console projecting a hologram. Blake was doing her usual reading a book and not minding the noise, while Weiss's face was slowly morphing into one of anger due to the noise.
It was already around 5:00pm and Kakashi felt that he wanted to have some fun.
He was going to go out to buy dust anyway, so why not let the girls join for a little team bonding session (not that kind). Maybe they could watch a movie or eat out.
"How about we go out for a bit, I mean, don't you feel bored with just doing nothing all the time on weekends?"
Yang turned off the console "I'm down, it's better than easily beating Ruby all the time on Shadow Ninjas II"
"Hey!" Ruby shouted in retaliation.
"But yeah, I kinda want to go out too. I have to buy dust rounds for Crescent Rose anyway, so going out right now would be perfect.
Blake put down her book.
"I'm fine with anything."
Weiss face of anger shifted into one of calm. It's seriously crazy how explosive this girl's emotions were.
"Anything would also be fine for me, but since for the past three weeks I've done nothing but study, it would be nice to go out."
Kakashi clapped his hands together, as his eyes closed to form an eye smile.
"Alright then. It's decided, Team White Knight will go out tonight."
Night out in town next Chapter, the previous AN was a lie by the way, I DID NOT have fun watching that arc of Gintama, that was the complete opposite of fun, that was pure sadness, but hey, it was damn good arc, but I'm not an anime reviewer, there's a real reason I put thus A/N.
That is because I have the corona-... Nah, I'm just kidding, basically my Internet Provider decided to fuck everyone over, and now internet is extra slow, so again, chapter might come out late, but don't worry it won't come out late as this one.
So yeah, sorry if you're disappointed about the no pairing for now thing but eh, I'm not good at writing romance anyway.
See you in the next chapter. Love you, bye.
Update, 5/5/2020 - New Chapter tomorrow.
