Mother's Day breakfast
Ghaby asked for a oneshot of Emma insisting on making a special breakfast for Snow on Mother's Day, but everything tastes terrible. Snow eats everything to make Emma happy and manages to fool her, but not David.
"Happy Mother's Day!" Came a singsong voice from the doorway. Snow stretched as her eyes blinked open, and David mimicked her motions beside her. It wasn't often they got a lie in, but Emma had arranged for them to be left to rest, since it was Mother's Day. Being the eldest at fourteen, she organised for her and her younger siblings to make their mom some special breakfast. With the cook's supervision, of course.
"What's all this?" Snow asked as Emma came into the room carrying the tray. Behind her, Neal was carrying a cup of hot cocoa (with cinnamon), Rosie a glass of orange juice, Christopher her cutlery and even Michael was included by carrying the napkin. He laid it across their mom's lap as she sat up in the bed. Both Snow and David smiled lovingly at their children.
"You're all so sweet." Snow praised them as Neal and Rosie placed the drinks down on the cabinet beside her and Emma placed the trap on her lap.
"We thought you deserved it. You work so hard being both a queen and our mother. We did all the cooking by ourselves. Mr Henderson just made sure we didn't burn down the palace." Emma said with a grin. Both parents were relieved they'd had some adult supervision. Snow smiled down at the plate in front of her. The food looked…interesting, to say the least. Well, no matter what was on that plate, Snow was determined to polish it off. Her babies had gone to a lot of effort and she'd hate to see them hurt if she didn't eat anything. So with composure befitting a royal, Snow hid any negative emotions and downed the lot.
"Well, that was just delicious." Snow praised her children. She gave them each a kiss on the cheek. "What a wonderful way to start my Mother's Day. Thank you all so much."
"You're welcome, mommy!" Michael said, taking the tray off her lap.
"We promised Mr Henderson we'd come back and clean up when you'd finished." Christopher said, taking the empty glass and mug. "We didn't think it was fair to leave him to do it all."
"Oh I'll bet it wouldn't be." David chuckled, only imagining the mess his children would have left the kitchen in.
The kids then tottled off to do the washing up. As soon as they were out of earshot, David burst out laughing.
"It's not funny!" Snow said, gently hitting his shoulder. "I might die of food poisoning!"
"I think you'll live to tell this terrible tale." David teased her. "Well done for eating it all. I think I'd have struggled with those eggs." He said, pulling a disgusted face. They loved their children dearly, but none of them could cook. They swore Emma could burn food just by looking at it funny.
"Well I'm glad you found it so amusing, Charming. I'll make sure to remind them of my special treat next Father's Day." Snow said casually. David's face turned to one of pure horror. She wouldn't!
