Birthday (in) wish
Ghaby asked for a oneshot of Snowing waking Emma up on her birthday in the wish realm.
"Happy birthday to you,
Happy birthday to you,
Happy birthday, dear Emma,
Happy birthday to you!"
Emma's eyes fluttered open. Where was she? Was she still dreaming? She saw her parents smiling over her. They looked different somehow, but Emma couldn't put her finger on it. Maybe she just didn't sleep well. She sat up and stretched. Her parents both kissed her cheek.
"Happy birthday, sweet girl." Snow cooed. She placed her hand on Emma's cheek, brushing her thumb along it. "Not so little anymore, are you?" Snow sighed. Emma smiled bashfully.
"Always my little girl." David countered, kissing the top of her head. "And today our princess is the birthday girl. The whole kingdom will be here this evening to celebrate with us." He said cheerily. Emma smiled at him.
"What a wonderful ball we'll have." Emma said. "I was thinking I could go out into the woods beforehand? Pick some flowers?" Emma asked. Snow and David shared a silent conversation. The Evil Queen has been defeated since Emma was a baby, there were no real villains anymore. Still, the king and queen were more than a little precious with their daughter. Despite the fact she had a child of her own.
"Since it is your birthday." Snow relented. "Just-"
"Be careful." Emma finished for her. "I will be. Thank you, mommy and daddy. I'll make sure I'm home in plenty of time to get ready for tonight." Emma promised them, rising from her bed. Even though Emma was happy, she couldn't shake the feeling of uneasiness. Something wasn't right here. Emma just didn't know what.
