Sudden realisation
Sienna asked for a oneshot of Charming taking a little Emma fishing. She comes home crying because she feels sorry for the fishes.
"Come on, let's go have dinner." Snow heard from the grand door of the palace. She made her way out to see her husband set their five year old daughter back down on her feet.
"I thought you two would have had a campfire on the shore together. She asked. "My two little fishers." Without warning, Emma burst into tears. Snow looked alarmed as David grimaced.
"Baby, what's the matter?" Snow asked, coming over and scooping Emma up. Emma wailed into her shoulder.
"I- didn't- like- it!" Emma sobbed. Snow looked over at David, hoping he could provide an explanation.
"It would seem when Emma begged to come fishing with me, she didn't quite realise that it was fishes we were catching…or that they died." David explained. He gave Snow an apologetic look. He hated seeing Emma cry. It was even worse knowing he was at least partially responsible. Snow stood in place, gently swaying from side to side with Emma until she calmed down.
"There." Snow said, once Emma had stopped crying. "Ok, you didn't like fishing with daddy. That's ok. There are lots of other things you can do with daddy to have fun with him." Snow said reassuringly. "You must be hungry now though. Why don't we have some dinner?"
"Ok." Emma sniffled. "But not fishes!"
"No fishes." Her parents agreed as David came and kissed her head. They then began walking with her to the kitchen to grab her something to eat.
"Is fishes the only animal people eat?" Emma asked. David and Snow shot each other a horrified look. They had a feeling they were about to become a vegetarian palace for quite some time.
