Stuck in Neverland

Julia asked for a oneshot of Snowing and Emma having to stay in Neverland because Emma got poisoned by dreamshade. They have to say goodbye to Henry.

Emma clung tightly to Henry, her whole body shaking slightly. This was the last time she would be able to hold her son.

"I want to stay here with you." Henry whimpered.

"Absolutely not." Emma responded. Of course she would love it if she could spend eternity with her son, but not like this. "You still have the heart of the truest believer. You will always be a target for Pan and his lost boys. No, you need to leave this cursed island, kid. Go home. Go back and live a full life. Just…don't ever forget me. Know that I'll always love you." Emma said, barely keeping it together. She felt her father's steadying hand on her back, trying his best to support her through this difficult moment.

"You two should go back as well." Emma tried one more time. "Go, have the other kid you want. Live out your happy ending."

"We have no happy ending without you." Snow told her daughter firmly. Emma sighed in frustration. She didn't want them sacrificing having a normal life for her. She gave Henry one final squeeze before letting him go so he could say goodbye to her parents as well. Emma looked over to Regina, a pleading look in her eye. Regina nodded, the question understood without any words needing to be said. Emma couldn't help but feel she saw a hint of joy in Regina's eyes. After all, she was finally getting what she wanted, and she didn't have to be the villain to get it.

"We have to leave." Rumple said gruffly. "Pan, he won't be held for long." Emma nodded in understanding. This was it.

"So long, kid." Emma said, forcing a smile on her face as she ruffled Henry's hair. "Go make the world a better place." Henry opened and shut his mouth, not knowing what to say. Regina took his arm and gently pulled him away towards the Jolly Roger. He kept looking back at the family he was leaving behind, and they watched him. They watched him until the ship disappeared towards home.

Emma then fell to her knees on the sands of Neverland and wept bitter tears. Her parents both knelt beside her, doing their best to comfort her.

"This wasn't goodbye forever, Emma." David tried to comfort her. "Don't give up. We will find a way to get you off this island without dying. We will get you back to your son." He promised her. They both knew the pain of being separated from your child, and they refused to let their daughter go through the same pain.

Emma didn't respond to her dad's comforting words. Right now, they felt hollow to her. She felt hollow. As far as she was concerned, her life as she knew it was over.
