Wishing in Storybrooke

Ghaby have asked for a oneshot of Snowing having to deal with a different version of Emma after Regina forcibly takes her from the Wish Realm before she remembers who she really is.

David was the first to see her, as he refused to sleep until Emma was brought back home. Regina appeared in front of him in a puff of purple smoke, a struggling Emma in her grasp.

"Let me go!" Emma demanded. Regina let go of her immediately. Emma looked shell shocked. She didn't even notice David standing there, massive bags under his eyes from the lack of sleep. She looked around the seemingly foreign world.

"Where have you taken me to, witch?" Emma demanded, although she was clearly terrified. "Where is this strange place? My parents will find me, they will always find me." Regina rolled her eyes. This version of Emma was, quite frankly, sickening.

"I see in this world they passed that sickly sweet sentiment on to you. Thank goodness you'll wake up soon."

"I am already awake, witch. What do you mean?"

"Would you stop calling me that? Stop playing dumb, Miss Swan, it really doesn't suit you. That world wasn't real. You need to wake up. You're home…"

"Would somebody please explain what's going on?" David shouted before the pair argued any further? Emma noticed her father for the first time. Her eyes widened in shock.

"Daddy?" She asked. David looked puzzled. Since when did Emma call him daddy?

"In the wish realm the Evil Queen sent her to she was raised by you." Regina explained. She hasn't woken up yet. I don't think she really wants to."

"You are the Evil Queen! Daddy, please help." Emma pleaded. Now David knew something was up. Emma never asked for help. If she had a problem with Regina she would have just either used her magic or punched her in the face. Knowing his daughter, probably the latter. David ran his hand through his hair. He understood why Emma might not want to wake up if she had been given the childhood she deserved in this world. He was far too sleep deprived for this. He came over and placed an arm around Emma, steering her away from Regina.

"Come on, sweetheart. Lets go to your mother." He explained. "Regina will have to come with us. Just trust me Emma, she's not the Evil Queen here." He tried to explain. Emma looked at his face closely.

"Why do you look so young?" She asked him.

"In this world you're both ancient by now." Regina added delicately. David rolled his eyes at her sharp tongue.

"That's a long story. One your mother might be able to help with." David added. Poor Snow was in for a shock when he woke her up.

David led Emma back to the loft apartment into his and Snow's bedroom.

"We're cursed to share a sleeping curse." He explained. "We can't both be awake at the same time, even with true love's kiss. You're working out a way to fix it." He explained, getting settled on the bed beside Snow. Emma, meanwhile, was staring at Neal in his bassinette. David smiled. "Your baby brother, Neal." He explained.

"My-what?" Emma croaked. David chuckled sleepily.

"Try and wake up, Em. I know that world was happier, but we need you back here." Were David's parting words before he pressed his lips to Snow and woke her up. Snow sat up in the bed and stretched. She blinked heavily when she saw Regina and Emma standing in front of the bed.

"What's going on?" She asked. "Emma, why are you dressed like your from back home?"

"Mommy, what's going on?" Emma wailed. She burst into tears and flung herself into Snow's arms. Snow was startled as she wrapped her arms around Emma. She looked at Regina for some answers.

"Oh, right. Emma was sent to a wish realm by my alter ego. She thinks she was raised by you and can't remember her real life. I say can't, I think it's more won't at this stage. Now that I have returned her to people who can stomach her whining, I'm out." Regina explained. Snow tried to call her back, wanting a more detailed explanation, but Regina was gone.

"Mommy, what happened to your hair?" Emma asked. Snow wasn't used to seeing Emma so vulnerable.

"Don't worry about that just now." Snow murmured into Emma's hair. "This must all be a bit frightening for you, huh?" Snow surmised. Emma nodded, terrified. Regina might favour the sharp shock approach to waking Emma up, but Snow thought the best way to get Emma back to her old self might be to help her remember that she could still have loving parents in this realm too. Snow smiled, taking Emma and leading her up to her bed in the loft. She might have moved out, but she always had a home there.

"Try to sleep, baby." Snow said gently, sitting on the edge of the bed until her daughter fell into a deep slumber. Snow stared down at her sleeping form, troubled. All they could do was wait until Emma was ready to come back into reality.
