Someone who can understand- part 3
Inlovewiththecharmings asked for a oneshot of a third instalment to "Someone who can understand" where George kidnaps both Emma and Caleb and tells Snowing they can only have one, he will keep the other. Caleb insists they take back Emma.
"I'm going to kill him this time." David growled.
"Only if I don't beat you to it." Snow snarled. George had done it this time. He'd been after Caleb since he knew he'd been born. Obviously it was a lot easier to protect their child when a) they had the fairies' magic b) there was magic and c) he was a baby who couldn't move very far on his own. Now Caleb and Emma were both very much grown up and apparently easy targets for the disgraced king. He had managed to get his hands on both the couple's children and was holding them hostage. He obviously had a fiendish plan, as he had let Snow and David know exactly where their children were. Of course, they then wasted no time in making their way straight over there.
As soon as they made their way into the abandoned factory, they found George holding both Caleb and Emma by gun point. They were both tied to separate poles, looking quite groggy. George had obviously drugged them.
"George!" David bellowed. "Let my children go." George just smirked.
"Life as a prince is clearly suiting you well, throwing about orders." George taunted him.
"How about I take a leaf out of your book and try a threat instead then? Let my children go, or I'll slice your head clean off your shoulders." David growled. George clearly wasn't taking the threat seriously.
"I'm afraid I can't do that, David." George said, not taking the gun away from the heads of Caleb and Emma. "You see, when you took your little temper tantrum, you lost me a son. You lost me the chance to have an heir. Fortunately, you produced a spare. So here's the deal. You pick one of your children to take home, and I'll take the other with me."
"No!" The family all yelled as one.
"Yes." George hissed. "Time to choose, Charmings. If you refuse, I'll choose for you." George warned waggling the gun menacingly.
"Well the choice is obvious." Caleb said strongly. "You're taking Emma home. Don't worry about me, I'll find a way out somehow…"
"What? Caleb, no!" Emma said, struggling against her bonds.
"Quiet girl. It's not the boy's decision. That belongs to your parents." George snapped.
"Listen to me, Emma needs you, even if she acts like she doesn't. Take her home."
"No! I can't do this without you!" Emma screamed. As she did, a blast of magic shot out around her. The rope holding her and Caleb vanished. As did the gun in George's hand. He stared at his empty hand, astonished. David didn't waste any time. He ran up to George and his fist connected hard against his jaw, knocking him clean out.
"What was that?" Emma asked, alarmed. Her brother came over and picked her up, spinning her around like he used to do when they were kids.
"Magic, sis." He answered her. "Guess I'm not the only one doing the saving in this family, huh?" He said proudly. Emma was still too shocked to answer. She still wasn't used to her magic. She was just glad it came when she really needed it.
