Tree climbing

Sienna asked for a oneshot of during a picnic, Emma showing off in front of Henry by climbing a tree despite her parents' protests. She then falls.

"Could not."

"Could so."

"Could not!"

"Could so!" The childish banter went between mother and son. The family had taken a rare sunny day off together in the woods enjoying a picnic. Of course spending time with her twelve year old brought out Emma's still very present inner child in the form of tree climbing. Emma found the tallest tree in the clearing and insisted she could get up to the top with ease.

"Mom, there are hardly any branches!" Henry pointed out. Emma shrugged.

"So? There's a decent enough trunk. I can shimmy up that until I get to the stronger branches." Emma insisted. "I climbed up harder trees as a kid." Henry rolled his eyes.

"For the record, we don't think it's a great idea either." David called over. "It's been a wet week. That tree might still be slippery." Emma just laughed.

"It'll be fine. Relax." She told them, looking the tree up and down. Snow hid her head behind David's shoulder. This was bound to end in disaster.

Emma approached the tree with far too much confidence. She got off to a decent start, but began to get cocky. She started to go too fast, almost hopping up to the branches. However, just before Emma reached the first branch, her foot slid off the bark. Emma lost her grip and plummeted back to the ground, landing on her backside with an oomph. Henry fell about laughing. David gave her an "I told you so" look while Snow checked she hadn't broken anything. Emma was pretty much unscathed. Well, apart from a bruised ego.
