Chapter 22: Hammer of the Gods
"When are you leaving?" Jesse asked as he watched me pack my things.
"I don't know, but soon," I told Jesse.
"Will you be coming back?" Jesse asked.
"It depends," I answered, as I stopped packing and sat down next to him. "This battle may last for days, weeks, or even months. And if we succeed, I have to go back to college and finish my degree."
"But you will come back." Jesse insisted.
I sighed as I took Jesse's hand. "Let's make a deal. When I graduate and get my job, my weekends, if not planned, belong to you. And if a job requires me to travel then how about you join me? Until then, I need you to be with Tony and Sienna while being a kid and focus on your learning."
Jesse thought about the deal. After a couple of minutes, he nodded, "Okay."
"And I'll call to let you know if I'm available or not. Don't go grabbing me out of nowhere again." I warned.
Jesse smirked, amused at that event. Gave Bobby a heart attack, and me going into shock. Luckily, I managed to resolve the situation before Bobby called Dean and Sam for a search party. I made sure I had my things together before going downstairs to the apartment's receptionist, informing them Jesse and I were leaving. I headed back up to collect Jesse and our stuff before we teleported back to the outback, doing all the forms and paying the rent if not interest.
Jesse saw Donnie playing with the werewolf twins and ran off towards them. I chuckled, carrying our bags inside, entering with ease while Sienna lay on the couch reading a spell book. She perked her head and smiled.
"Nice to see ya back." She announced.
"Well, after the turn of events, I need to make sure Jesse is safe," I said.
Sienna nodded as she came over and helped me put Jesse's things away. Then we went to the kitchen as we shared a cup of tea. Just two women gossiping about ordinary things. How her relationship is going with Tony and such.
Suddenly one of the werewolf twins came in. A little girl with brown hair name Luna was a bit nervous, "Sienna, there's an owl on the porch."
"Really?" Sienna replied cheerfully.
"Yeah, but it speaks," Luna said. "Asking for Skylar."
"Athena," I guessed.
I got up, running out to the porch to see Athena sitting on a rocking chair with the other twin Mace. Jesse and Donnie sat on the ground as Athena told them stories of Hercules. This time she dressed professionally, as her brunette hair put in a bun, wearing a business inspire jumpsuit, along with a golden belt, golden bands on her wrist and Greek-inspired sandals while the necklace owl rested on her chest.
"Athena," I spoke aloud.
The Goddess smiled as she set Mace down, then stood up, facing me. "Skylar, I see you are doing well."
"What are you doing here?" I demanded.
"Simple, I came for you," Athena said.
I looked at the Goddess with caution. This was Athena, Goddess of wisdom and strategic war. For the safety of the children, I told them to go inside with Sienna. Jesse refused, but I snapped and told him to go inside and wait. Not wanting to lead this to an argument, Jesse nodded as he and the other children followed Sienna inside the house.
"For what?" I asked.
Athena smiled as she pulled out a scroll from thin air and handed it to me. I open the scroll to discover it was an invitation for all the gods to come together to discuss the problem of the Judeo-Christian Apocalypse along with the guest of honor. Though it does not say who the guest of honor was, only that this conference was hosted by Baldur. I rolled up the scroll handing it back to Athena, not convinced.
"Therefore, I need you to accompany me," Athena said. "In case things get out of hand."
"Why are you interested in this?" I asked.
"As much as I enjoy strategizing for war with my brother Ares, this is no laughing matter. Also,
I need insurance in case things get out of hand, let alone wise enough to have a human representative with me." Athena explained.
"Last I check, you immortals eat human," I growled.
"Corrections, the other gods consume humans. The Greek gods don't require human flesh but ambrosia and nectar." She said.
"And if I refused?" I challenge.
Athena smirked as she raised her hand, aiming it at me. All of a sudden, my head hurt by an intense migraine. I groan, covering my eyes from the irritation of the light. Damn it, forgot Athena was born from Zeus's head after he suffered a tremendous headache.
"Would you like to have this migraine for the rest of your life?" she asked.
I grind my teeth before conceding, "Fine, I'll go. But you must leave them be."
"I promise Jesse and his friends will not get involve," Athena assured, waving her hand, causing the migraine to vanish. "Gather your things. We leave immediately."
I panted though nodded to the Goddess before going inside to grab my computer bag and purse. Jesse stood there, confused.
"You're leaving?" He asked.
"I have to," I answered.
"I can take care of her." Jesse sneered.
I stopped and bent down to his level while my hands rested on his shoulders. "Please, don't do that. She is the reason why I am clairvoyant."
"But-"
"Ya have to stay and protect the others." I reminded him. "Tony is gonna need all the manpower."
"But Sky-" he protested.
"Jesse, I assure you nothing bad is gonna happen to me. It's time I start facing my demons. Okay?" I said.
The Cambion looked at me suspiciously before nodding, giving me a hug. I hugged Jesse back dearly, not sure if I would see him again. It is time to deal with the Apocalypse and hopefully end this once and for all. So saying goodbye to the other children and Sienna, I took my things and joined Athena on the porch. The Goddess smiled as she took my hand and teleported us to the conference meeting.
.o0o.
I stumbled a little from the rush of teleportation. Once I caught my bearing, I found myself in some four-star hotel retro polished of Las Vegas. Meanwhile, outside appeared to be a hurricane. But that wasn't the only thing, as my things vanished and my attire changed. Now wearing a crème colored textured skater dress, with a pair of sandals and the owl medallion. Wait, I was wearing a t-shirt and shorts…how did I get into this?
"Come along, Skylar," Athena called out.
Athena, I should have suspected. I thought.
I followed after her as she headed towards the receptionist. The front desk manager wore a red suit with black curly hair, as he typed rapidly on the keyboard. Behind him was a sign that read, The Elysian Fields Hotel Athena tapped the little bell catching the receptionist's attention. The man looked up and smiled.
"Athena, so glad you could make it!" The Receptionist said.
"Drastic times calls for drastic measures, Mercury," Athena replied.
"Agreed," Mercury said, then looked at me. "I see you have brought one of your pets."
"Pet?" I thought aloud. What did this Mercury fellow believe I was: the human figure of Athena's owl or just some human slave?
"Indeed," Athena said, her voice much serious. Suddenly in a blink of an eye, Mercury's hand was outstretched towards me, his fingers a mere inch away from my neck while Athena held his wrist in a vice grip. "You shall not draw blood from her. This is my human."
"Apologies," Mercury apologized in a professional tone drawing his hand back. "I'll inform the other guests."
"Have the guest of honor arrived?" Athena asked.
"Yes, the meeting will commence in a few hours. Why don't you and your pet rest in your suite." Mercury said, handing the Goddess her room key.
"Thank you," She said, taking the key and left with me in toll.
I rubbed my neck from the sudden action. Mercury, as in the Roman God Mercury, the counterpart of the Greek God Hermes. The messenger and a god of sex. Looking around seeing so many humans here, not sure which was human and who was a god. I had a few suspicions by those intimidating glances, but I suppressed my ability and followed Athena. Once we were in the suite, I discovered my computer bag was there, along with a birdcage with a small owl in it. Athena walked over and collected the little owl.
"Awe, did they treat you well, Noctua?" Athena asked the bird.
The owl ruffled its feathers before snuggling into the Goddess's hand. I stood there surprised to see the Goddess of Wisdom act…well, human in the pet department.
"So um, what is my part in all this?" I asked.
"Once the other gods have a word in this debate, I shall inform them that humans have a say in this. There you shall give a speech to defend mankind." Athena answered.
"Okay, but why?" I asked.
Athena side as she took a seat on the bed while the owl rested on her hand. "When Judeo-Christianity became the dominant religion, the fates converted into their beliefs. My friend Lachesis gossiped about the Apocalypse and how powerful these archangels are. If I am correct, I fear we immortals are not capable of going against Lucifer. As much as he reminds me of my brother Ares, someone who has no weakness is a major threat in battle."
"Still, how am I supposed to defend humanity in a room of gods who rather see me on a platter?" I asked.
"You tell them your experience with the angels and your encounter with Lucifer. If that doesn't catch their attention, then there's no choice but to live in Mount Olympus." Athena said.
"That's reassuring," I grumbled.
"Don't worry; I'll make sure Hades has a special place for you in Elysium," Athena assured.
I shook my head, sat down on the couch, and picked up whatever was on the crystal coffee table. The first thing I picked up was a pamphlet for "Casa Erotica 13" on demand. Wow, if Dean were here, he would be having a field day. The thought of Dean reminded me how I have been lying to him, Sam, and Bobby on my whereabouts. After all, this was over and done, I will go back to South Dakota to help. Setting the pamphlet down, I grabbed the television remote, putting the news on.
As usual, there was chaos in the world, thanks to the Apocalypse. Seeing all that has happened had, I started to regret my decision to go on vacation. Let alone telling the guys, I wanted out. Athena sat down on the couch with me, watching the latest update.
"So far, only North America is experiencing this." She informed. "If the Archangels continue this, it shall spread throughout the entire world."
There was nothing I could say but nod. A hotel staff member came by dropping off a complimentary tray of fruits and food. Athena assured me, that all the food on the tray were edible and not human. Since I was questioning the steak. Yet my stomach growl, and accepted the food. About a couple of hours later, there was a knock on the door. Being on the pretext of being Athena's servant, I got up and answered the door. It was Mercury again with that smug look on his face.
"The meeting is about to begin." He announced.
"Thank you, Mercury," Athena replied, with her owl in hand before following the God in the Grand Ballroom. On the way over, the main lobby appeared empty. Wait, wasn't this room active when arriving. I took a deep breath, hoping they weren't on tonight's course. Guess I'll be going vegetarian tonight unless I want to be Hannibal Lector, which I am not.
Once inside the ballroom, there were eight gods. I felt utterly out of place as they all stared at me. And let me tell you, the way the men were staring at me was unsettling. Looking around in seeing the name tags on their chest, Ganesh, Odin, Kali, Baron Samedi, Baldur, Isis, and Zao Shen. Ganesh, the elephant Hindu god. Odin king of Asgar and the father of Thor in Norse mythology. Kali Hindu's Dark Goddess, known for her four arms, or in this case two. Baron…Baron Samedi, the Haitian voodoo god. Baldur, if I am corrected, is a Norse God of peace. Isis the Egyptian Goddess, while Zao Shen, the Chinese chef. I have read and heard of these gods through myths and stories. Never have I thought to meet them in person.
Athena walked over to the sign-in as she wrote her name on a name tag. Her writing neat and strict, almost like Times New Roman. I also wrote my name on a tag and place it on my chest out of courtesy. Kali and Baldur walked over to us though I kept my head down.
"Ah, Athena, never have I thought the Grecians would get involve," Baldur said.
"Even though we do not agree on human sacrifice, Zeus and the other Olympians agree on this situation," Athena replied.
"To which I appreciate," Baldur said. "And who is your plus one?"
"This is Skylar Harvelle, my human valet of the gifted. I brought her here, for she has encountered Lucifer and have knowledge of the Apocalypse." Athena introduced.
"This is something I would like to hear," Kali murmured, not genuinely interested.
I open my mouth to speak, but Baldur interrupted. "I assure you, no harm shall come."
That wasn't what I was going to say. But Baldur and Kali walked away to speak with the other gods. Uncomfortable, I stood by the corner on high alert. Athena went over talking to Isis, who had blond hair. As the immortals talked, I noticed Zao Shen and Baron Samedi had vanished along with Mercury.
Speaking of the devil, Zao Shen and Baron Samedi came in dragging two other people. My mouth literally dropped in seeing Sam and Dean Winchester. They looked surprised in seeing all the gods were here. However, when their eyes landed on me, their mouths literally dropped.
"Something tells me this isn't a Shriner convention," Dean said.
Mercury soon entered with a tray smiling ominously. "Dinner is served." He announced, removing the lid to expose the main course. The Center of the tray was a human head surrounded by his organs. I cringed, looking away while the immortals applauded to some delicacy.
"Ladies and Gentlemen…" Baldur spoke, as lights magically aimed at the Winchesters. "Our Guests of Honor have arrived."
.o0o.
Everyone gathered around the table while Sam, Dean, and I occupied one end. We sat there in shock while the immortals feast on the human. Although, Athena sat there drinking out of a golden chalice, probably nectar, while Noctua pecked on the loaf of bread.
"Ladies and gentlemen, thank you for coming," Baldur announced. "Well, in all my centuries, I never thought I'd see this – this many gods under one roof."
"Gods?" Sam choked out.
"Greek, Roman, Hindu, Chinese, Norse, and Egyptian." I listed quietly.
"Now, before we get down to brass tacks, some ground rules – no slaughtering each other. Curb your wrath. Oh, and, uh, keep your hands off the local virgins. We're trying to keep a low profile here."
Ganesh looked at Athena doing something under the table that caused her to retaliate. She draws a knife and aimed it at his throat, "Keep your hands to yourself."
Immediately Ganesh retracts his hand back while the men started laughing. Athena lowered the knife though she kept a warning look to the elephant god. Baldur snickered before continuing his speech.
"Oh, we are so, so screwed," Sam whispered.
"Now, we all know why we're here. The Judeo-Christian Apocalypse looms over us." Baldur continued. "I know we've all had our little disagreements in the past, but the time has come to put those aside and looked toward the future. 'Cause if we don't, we won't have one. Now, we do have two very valuable bargaining chips – Michael and Lucifer's vessels. The question is … what do we do now? Anybody have any bright ideas, speak up. This is a safe room. "
Zao Shen stood up as he spoke in Mandarin very angrily.
"Oh, I don't like his tone," Dean whispered.
"Kill them? Why?" Ganesh asked sarcastically. "So the angels here can bring them back again?"
"I don't know what everybody's getting so worked up about. This is just a couple of angels having a slap fight. It's no Armageddon." Odin spoke out. "Everybody knows when the world comes to an end, the Great Serpent Jormungandr rises up, and I, myself, will be eaten by a big wolf!" Zao Shen muttered something catching the Norse king's attention. "Oh yeah? And why is that? Because your beliefs are so much more realistic? The whole world's getting carried around on the back of a giant turtle? Ha! Give me a break!" Zao Shen said something angrily, waving his finger at Odin, which causes the Norse God to stand up. "What are you gonna do about it?"
Zao Shen said more though the only word that could be depicted was, "…Valhalla!"
"You watch your mouth when you talk to me, boy!" Odin warned.
Zao Shen rolled his eyes as he said more in Mandarin.
"No one's ever proved that." Odin challenged.
As the two gods argued, Dean gestured his head to Sam to leave. Sam nodded as he quietly grabbed my hand, helping me up as we attempt to exit the room without being noticed. As we neared the door, a chandelier falls in front of us with a loud crash.
"Stay," Kali ordered. She adjusted her neck as she continued. "We have to fight. The archangels - the only thing they understand is violence. This ends in blood. There is no other way, it's them…or us."
"With all due respect…Ma'am… we haven't even tried talking to them." Mercury started.
Kali gave the Roman God a death glare. Seconds later, Mercury began to choke on his own blood. The Roman God tried loosening his collar though coughed several times. It was like the Hindu Goddess was going Darth Vader on him.
"Kali," Baldur said, interrupting the connection.
"Who asked you?" Kali asked Mercury as he tried to regain his breath.
The doors open behind us humans as all attention went there to see the one and only trickster. My body tensed, remembering this was the guy who tried to steal my kidneys. The trickster enters, quoting, "Can't we all just get along?"
"Gabe-"Dean started only to be silenced by the tricksters with a wave of his hand. Sam was about to say the trickster's name only to have the same treatment.
"Trickster," I growled.
"Nice to see you too, Skylar." Trickster said, then faced the Winchesters. "Sam, Dean, it's always the wrong place, worst time with you muttonheads, huh?"
"Loki." Baldur said in distaste.
"Baldur." Loki greeted. "Good seeing you, too. I guess my invitation got lost in the mail."
"Why are you here?" Baldur asked.
"To talk about the elephant in the room," Loki answered. Ganesh was about to stand up, offended by that quote, when Loki faced the man. "Not you." Ganesh sighed, sitting back down as Loki corrected himself. "The Apocalypse. We can't stop it, gang. But first things first. " As he turned around, facing us humans. "The adults need to have a little conversation. Check you later."
In a blink, we were in one of the bedrooms. The boys and I panted after everything we saw. Sam looked at Dean with a panicked looked.
"Okay. Did that . . . Holy crap." Dean started.
"Yeah, tell me about it." Sam agreed. "By the way, next time I say 'let's keep driving,' uh, let's keep driving."
"Okay, yeah, next time," Dean replied. "And Skylar, how are you here?"
"Uh, the goddess who pulled out the knife…that was Athena," I said.
"So," Dean asked.
"She is the reason why I am clairvoyant and wanted me to elaborate on what is going on," I answered. "But seeing that…I doubt it."
"Uh, alright, so, what's our next move?" Sam said.
"I-I –"Dean stared only to chuckled. "I don't know. We grab those poor saps out of the freezer, I guess – bust them out. Gank a few freaks along the way if we're lucky."
"And when are you ever lucky?" Loki's voice said out of the blue. He sat on the couch, relaxed as if he was in this room this whole time.
"Oh, you know what? Bite me, Gabriel." Dean snapped.
"Maybe later, big boy." The person said.
"Gabriel, I thought his name was Loki," I said.
"Yeah, about that. This trickster is actually the archangel Gabriel." Sam clarified.
"What!" I snapped.
"I should have known," Dean said, changing the subject. "I mean, this has your stink all over it from the jump."
"You think I'm behind this?" Gabriel asked, standing up. "Please. I'm the Costner to your
Houston. I'm here to save your ass."
"You want to pull us out of the fire?" Dean asked, not believing this.
"Bingo," Gabriel confirmed. "Those gods are either gonna dust you or use you as bait. Either way, you're uber-boned."
"Wow – 'cause a couple of months ago, you were telling us that we need to play our roles." Dean sarcastically said. "You were uber-boning us."
"Ohhhhh, the end is still nigh." Gabriel sang, waltzing around. "Michael and Lucifer are gonna dance the lambada. But not tonight. Not here."
"And why do ya care, if you're Switzerland?" I asked.
"I don't care," Gabriel said innocently. "But . . . Me and Kali, we, uh . . . had a thing. Chick was all hands." As he wiggled his eyebrows. "What can I say? I'm sentimental."
"Do they have a chance?" Sam asked. "Against Satan?"
"Really, Sam?" Dean said.
"You got a better idea, Dean?" Sam countered.
"It's a bad idea," Gabriel answered, voice now serious. "Lucifer's gonna turn them into finger paint. So let's get going while the going's good."
"Okay, great. Why don't you just zap us out of here, then?" Dean suggested.
"Would if I could. But Kali's got you by the short and curlies." Gabriel said. "It's a blood spell. You boys are on a leash."
"What does that mean?" Dean asked.
"Means it's time for a little of the old black magic," Gabriel said, pulling out a bottle and spritzes his mouth with breath spray. "Ahh."
"What about Skylar?" Sam asked. "Can you take her out of here?"
"Sam-"I started.
"I can do that, but she is under a leash by Athena," Gabriel added.
"Yeah, okay, whatever. We're gonna take the Hors d'oeuvres in the freezer with us." Dean said.
"Forget it," Gabriel said. "It's gonna be hard enough sneaking you mooks out of here."
Then I remember something in the conference room, "They called you 'Loki' right? Which means they don't know who you really are?"
"Told you – I'm in witness protection," Gabriel said.
The Winchesters caught on in what I was leading to as Dean continued. "Okay, well, then how about you do what we say, or we tell the, uh, Legion of Doom about your secret identity? They don't seem like a real pro-angel kin fog crowd."
Gabriel scowled as he said, "I'll take your voices away."
"We'll write it down." Dean challenged.
"I'll cut off your hands." Gabriel threatened.
"Then people are gonna be asking, 'why are you guys running around with no hands?'" Dean countered.
"And let's not forget Athena can read the minds of her gifted," I added.
Man, we are playing fire with fire right now. Dean surely knows how to get under Gabriel's skin for knowing the truth. Going undercover in the pagan territory is a dangerous place to hide. Primarily when these gods are known for war and vengeance. So if they get word of an archangel is in their presence, then it's another poker chip to add to the pot.
Gabriel inhaled deeply, "Fine."
The archangel pulled out a wooden stake and tossed it at Dean. "You might need this."
With that said, he disappeared in a blink of an eye, followed by the sound of wings flapping. I took a deep breath looking at the boys. Dean held a serious look at me. Guess things are going to be complicated between us. Before I could say a word, he shook his head. "Later, right now, we got people to save."
I nodded, looking ashamed while following the boys out of the room. Sam gave a once over before taking my hand in a secure grip as we walked cautiously down the halls. He's doing this brought some comfort as we walked into the lobby. Again, it seemed empty until we heard somebody shouting out 'No!" while calling for help. Quickly we hid in one of the entryways, watching Odin, Baron Samedi, and Zao Shen dragged a man in a suit on the receptionist desk. The man struggled, begging for help. Dean was about to jump in, but Sam restrained him.
"It's too late," Sam whispered.
After Sam said that, Zao Shen lifted a butcher cleaver and chopped the man's head off. Sam's hand covered my mouth, suppressing a gasp of horror. Turning my head away, stuck to listening to the chef's butchering the man's limbs off with the help of the other gods. Once they were gone and the coast was clear, we headed into the kitchen. Immediately Sam got his pickpocket kit, trying to open the freezer while the people inside banged on the door for freedom.
However, my enhanced self-preservation ability kicked in, turning around to find Zao Shen in front of me. Before I could say a word, he grasped his hands around my neck and tossed me to the other side of the kitchen. I collided with a metal rack as spices and herbs fell on me. Dean got the same treatment of the body while Zao Shen pinned Sam to the wall strangling him. I looked at Dean, seeing him get up and drawl out the wooden stake and stabbed Zao Shen from behind, killing the immortal chef.
"Where the hell is Gabriel?" Dean said.
"In trouble," Athena said, coming out of nowhere. "Just like you two imbeciles."
Snapping her fingers Odin and Baron Samedi appeared, grabbing hold of the Winchesters while Athena walked over and grabbed me. She held a disappointed look though her blue eyes had mirth. She must be enjoying this, to see human defiance amongst the other gods. Now I wonder if I was here to speak out for mankind or some sort of pawn to use against the Winchesters. For when Sam and Dean tried to fight off the other gods, Athena had her hand under my neck.
"Behave, or I'll snap her neck," Athena warned.
Complying with the goddess orders, the boys stopped fighting as we were dragged out of the kitchen. Back in the conference room, Gabriel sat in a chair in front of Baldur and Kali. Guess his secret is out of the bag, let alone under Kali's binding spell by the blood on his neck. Secured inside, the immortals shoved us into chairs, watching the dynamic that is going to happen.
"How's the rescue going?" Dean asked for kicks.
"Well, surprise, surprise." Kali said, "The trickster has tricked us."
"Kali…Don't." Gabriel pleaded.
"You're mine now," Kali murmured as she sat down on Gabriel's lap. "And you have something I want." Her hand travels into his jacket, pulling out an angel blade. "An archangel's blade. From the archangel . . . Gabriel."
She got off of Gabriel as all the other gods stared at the traitor in the room. Five thousand years of knowing the guy only to discover his dirty little secret must be a hard blow. Even Odin and Baldur seemed furious since Loki resides in their mythology. Unless Gabriel killed the real Loki and stolen his identity.
"Okay! Okay. So I got wings. Like Kotex." Gabriel said. "But that doesn't make me less right about Lucifer."
"He's lying," Kali said. "He's a spy."
"I'm not a spy. I'm a runaway." Gabriel defended. "I'm trying to save you. I know my brother, Kali. He should care the living crap out of you. You can't beat him. I've skipped ahead – seen how this story ends."
"Your story – not ours." Kali corrected. "Westerners – I swear the sheer arrogance. You think you're the only one on earth? You pillage, and you butcher in your God's name. But you're not the only religion, and he's not the only God. And now you think you can just rip the planet apart? You're wrong. There are billions of us. And we were here first. If anyone gets to end this world…it's me."
Kali moved closer, caressing Gabriel's face. You can see the love and the betrayal on her face as the Hindu Goddess voice broke with an apologetic, "I'm sorry." Then she stabs Gabriel with his own sword. The blade punctures his chest cavity, causing the archangel to scream, penetrating his angel soul while a burst of light appeared on his mouth and eyes. Not a moment too soon, Gabriel died when his grace goes out, leaving nothing but his vessel.
"This is crazy," Mercury murmured.
"Was that really necessary?" Athena seethed. Her grip on my shoulder tightened.
"Yes. They can die. We can kill Lucifer." Kali confirmed.
I panted, staring at Dean and Sam, wondering what are we supposed to do. Sam just held my hand tightly while Dean sighed, standing up. "Alright, you primitive screwheads. Listen up."
"Are you out of your mind?" Sam asked, bewilder.
"Sit down." I hissed before he gets us killed.
"I'm out of options," Dean told us.
"And what would that be, mortal?" Athena asked, letting Dean continued.
"Now, on any other given day, I'd be doing my damnedest to, uh, kill you, you filthy murdering chimps," Dean said, walking around and headed to the bar. "But, uh, hey . . . desperate times. So even though I'd love nothing better than to slit your throats, you . . . dicks . . . "
"Get to the point," Athena interrupted, petting her owl.
". . . I'm gonna help you." Dean nervously chuckled as he poured himself some brandy. "I'm gonna help you ice the Devil. And then we can all get back to ganking each other, like normal. You want Lucifer? Well, dude's not in the yellow pages. But me and Sam, we can get him here."
"How?" Kali asked.
"First, you let those main courses go. Then we talk." Dean replied. "We can either take on the devil together, or you lame-ass bitches can eat me. Literally." As he takes a sip of his brandy.
The gods discuss this while the boys and I sat down, waiting for the verdict. I was taking deep breaths, not sure what to do. The only person who seemed calm was Dean while Sam attempted to be calm. After ten minutes, the gods agreed as Athena took Zao Shen's keys while she and Dean went out to free the prisoners. On the other hand, I went to grab my computer bag, pulling out my laptop to check on the weather report. Right now, on I-90 in Muncie, Indiana, weather reports an increase from a category three storm to a category four storm.
"Baldur, are any of the gods altering the weather to be worse?" I asked.
"Odin alters the weather to bring the Winchesters here." The God of peace answered.
"Aye, I did, but I haven't heightened it," Odin said, arms crossed.
I looked at Sam, who read my expression. If Odin wasn't changing the category level of the storm, then this would be biblical. Like the weather after Death was resurrected. Looking around, I noticed some of the gods were leaving the ballroom. But most importantly, Mercury was the first to go before Athena, and Dean left to free the prisoners. Something about Mercury bothered me. Like I can't trust him on the situation.
"Is this a problem?" Kali asked.
"Means the Devil might be here," I answered, turning off my laptop and putting it away.
Athena came in with her Noctua on her hand. She seemed a bit excited for some action. A bit cautious around the Goddess of Wisdom, I stayed close to Sam. Sam sensed my discomfort as he stood close to me by the door.
"I don't like this," I murmured.
"I'm the only one who can bring him here, Sky," Sam said.
"But-"I started.
"So, you're going to summon Lucifer," Kali said as she and Baldur walked over to us.
"Sort of," Sam answered. "I just need you to squeegee some stuff from my ribs, and he'll come running."
"Breaking them would be easier," Kali suggested.
"Easy Kali," Athena said. "We want him alive, not dead."
The doors open as Dean came in with a pissed off look. "Show's over. Sword's a fake. And Gabriel - he's still kicking. I hate to break it to you, sister, but you've been tricked."
Hearing this surprised Kali.
"Then we better leave before any of the other gods find a way to contact Lucifer," Athena advised.
After saying that, the lights in the grand ballroom started to flicker. "What's happening?" Baldur demanded. Afterward, the sounds of people fighting could be heard on the other end of the door. Hearing battle cries and sounds of agony before everything became silent.
"It's him," Sam said.
"How?" Kali asked.
"Somebody invited him," Athena suggested.
"Does it matter? Shazam us out of here, would you?" Dean said.
"We can't," Baldur said, walking towards the door.
The doors open, revealing Lucifer covered in blood. His vessel's condition was much worse as his face blisters around the forehead and temple region. The sight of the Devil brought memories from Valentine's Day and Carthage. Yet, I remain still, containing my emotions.
"Of course, you can't," Lucifer said. "You didn't say 'Mother, may I?' Sam, Dean, Skylar. Good to see you again."
"Baldur… don't," Kali warned as the Norse God stood in front of us.
"You think you own the planet? What gives you the right?" Baldur said as he charged towards Lucifer.
The Norse God's anger blinded him. Lucifer merely thrust his hand into Baldur's chest, going straight through, stopping the Pagan God. "No one gives us the right. We take it."
Lucifer then yanked his arm out, killing Baldur. The action angered the two goddesses as Athena pulled the pin out of her bun and transfigure it into a golden spear. Kali, fueled by rage, her arms were engulfed in flames. Lucifer stood there unimpressed until Kali shot fire at him over and over again. The flames were so intense it backfires to a point the boys and I had to hide behind a table to duck and cover. Unfortunately, the flames hardly burned the devil, even when Kali came closer. However, Lucifer merely punched her out of the way. Athena charged forward, stabbing Lucifer in the chest, causing the two to fight.
"Are you okay?" Sam asked.
"No, not really. Better late than never, huh?" Gabriel said, appearing out of nowhere next to Dean. He shoved a DVD into Dean's chest. "Guard this with your life."
Afterward, he got up, joining the fight. All of us humans looked at each other confused, then got up to see Athena on the ground coughing up blood while Lucifer lifted his leg to crush her. However, Gabriel waved his hand, magically pushing Lucifer away. I ran over to the Goddess of Wisdom while Gabriel stood in front of Kali.
"Lucy. I'm home. "Gabriel announced himself.
Lucifer got up, marching over towards Kali, except Gabriel drawled his sword, blocking him.
"Not this time." He said as he helped Kali stand up. "Guys! Get the girls out of here."
The boys grabbed Kali, Athena, and I as we cautiously left the grand ballroom with Gabriel as our shield. Once we reached the door, we ran out of the hotel heading towards the impala. The rains have stopped, though the skies were dark with lighting overhead.
"I'm not getting in that thing." Kali objected.
"Just get in the car, princess," Dean ordered.
Sam opened the door allowing Athena, Kali, and I in the backseat while the boys got upfront. Dean quickly put the keys in the ignition and drove off the parking lot, leaving The Elysian Fields Hotel behind. I held my computer bag close, yet hesitant sitting between a Greek and Hindu Goddess known for destruction and war. Yet, I kept silent as we drove off far away from the battle between archangels.
.o0o.
By morning Athena and Kali were gone. They just vanished once Dean pulled off at a gas station to fuel up the impala. The moment Sam and Dean got outside to stretch their legs, the two goddesses vanished, leaving me in the back-seat unconscious. When Sam has woken me up, asking where the Goddesses were, I had no clue.
Anyway, were in some back lot with my laptop on the roof of the impala. Dean took the DVD out of its case and handed it to me. Putting the DVD in my laptop and started Windows Media Player. The movie started with the red tittle card, scrolling down with cheesy porn music as the warning came scrolling down.

18 U.S.C. SECTION 2257
As the title came up of: CASA EROTICA 13.
The porn starts with a young woman clad in black lace lingerie wearing heal writing in her diary.
"Dear Diary, being a high-powered business president is super-fun. But so exhausting. Sometimes, I just need to relax. I need… Casa Erotica."
Then there was a knock on the door, "Room Service."
"Come in!" the woman said.
"This is gross," I muttered.
"Gabriel wanted you to guard this with your life?" Sam asked in disbelief.
"Maybe he's a fan," Dean replied. "It is a good one."
I just shook my head, watching the video. The room service waiter entered the room carrying a tray. I gawked when seeing Gabriel being the man wearing a mustache. "I've got the kielbasa you ordered."
"Ooh. Polish?" the woman asked.
"Hungarian," Gabriel answered, throws the dish onto the mantle as we cut away.
I looked away, disturbed, not wanting to watch the perverted angel's sex tape. Already I could hear the make out portion of the film. The Winchesters also agreed that this content was disturbing. So, to put an end to our misery, I reached forward to my laptop to close the film when video Gabriel stopped making out and faced the screen.
"Sam, Dean. You're probably wondering what the hell is going on." Gabriel said, ripping off the mustache while the woman massaged his shoulders. "Well… if you're watching this. . . I'm dead. Oh, please! Stop sobbing. It's embarrassing for all of us. Without me, you've got zero shot at killing Lucifer, sorry! But… you can trap him. The cage you sprung Lucifer from it's still down there. And maybe - just maybe - you can shove his ass back in. Not that it'll be easy. You gotta get the cage open; trick my bro back into it. And, uh—oh, yeah - avoid Michael and the God Squad. But hey, details, right? And here's the big secret, Lucifer himself doesn't even know. But the key to the cage - It's out there. Actually, it's keys - plural. Four keys, well, four rings. From the Horsemen. You get 'em all, you got the cage. Can't say I'm betting on you, boys. But, uh, hey! I've been wrong before. And Dean…you were right. I was afraid to stand up to my brother, not anymore." He then stood up as he said. "So this is me standing up. And this is me . . . lying down."
Soon Gabriel and his girlfriend were getting it on. Disturbed, I closed the window, knowing I need to bleach my eyes later after seeing that. All three of us were recovering from that. Once we regain our composure, the discussion began.
"The Horsemen?" I started.
"Well, we got War's. We nicked Famine's. That's two down. Collect all four?" Dean said. "All we need is Pestilence and Death."
"Oh, is that all?" Sam said.
"It's a plan," Dean said.
"Well, we better head off to Bobby's then," I said.
I grabbed my laptop and put it back in the bag. As I was about to open the back-seat door to the impala, Dean slammed it. I looked at him, wondering what his problem was, but he held that authoritarian look.
"Where the hell have you been, Sky?" Dean asked.
"Dean, not now," Sam said.
"No, she's been gone for two months and has been lying to us," Dean exclaimed.
"I told you and Bobby I was stuck on an island in Hawaii." I lied.
"Really, because when Cass went to get you, you were nowhere in Hawaii. Hell, he couldn't sense you." Dean growled. "We thought you were dead."
"Dean, I'm sorry, but-"I started.
"No, buts," Dean interrupted. "Where the hell have you been?"
I looked down, ashamed, staring at the mud beneath my feet. "Australia."
"Australia?" Sam repeated.
"Why were you there?" Dean demanded.
"Because of…" I stopped myself.
"Because of what?" Dean continued his interrogation.
"Because of Jesse Turner," I whispered.
"Jesse…as in Cambion Jesse?" Sam asked.
I nodded, "He needed me as a guardian figure, and that is why."
None of the Winchesters said a word after that. They know they were the reason why Jesse had to leave his family. Opening the door, I got inside the impala, not wanting to talk to either of them. Sam and Dean exchanged a few words before getting in the front seat and drive back to South Dakota.
