Fernanda asked for a oneshot of the curse breaking when Emma is a kid and Ingrid is her adoptive mom. Snowing have to share Emma with her.
No villain had ever managed to get under Snow and David's skin quite like the Snow Queen. She was the one to have finally done it. She had defeated Snow White and her Prince Charming. Nobody knew about her friendship with the Evil Queen. Nobody knew about her full stop. She had been brought over from her realm when the curse hit with one purpose: to raise the young princess. She believed a prophecy from her world declared Emma to be the replacement for the loss of her sisters. Emma would be her new family. Much to the dismay of Snow and David.
Despite being raised in Storybrooke, Emma had a different curse from the rest of the town. She was not frozen in time, oblivious to her true self. She knew exactly who she was. The problem had been convincing everybody else.
She managed to do it when she was ten years old. Everybody remembered who they were, including her birth parents. It wasn't as simple as going to live with them and living happily ever after. Ingrid had raised Emma, and despite her coldness at times, Emma truly loved her. She was the only mother Emma had ever known. She wasn't to know all the circumstances behind Ingrid getting her hands on her. Snow and David didn't want to risk Emma not believing them by telling her they believed her adoptive mother was using her. They had to play this very carefully. As did Ingrid. She of all people knew how much Emma wanted a relationship with her birth family. She had wanted to break the curse since she had found that damn storybook. Ingrid had tried everything she could to prevent Emma from breaking it, but the little girl was stubborn, and once she had her mind on something there was no stopping her. Now that the curse was broken, if Ingrid tried to stop Emma from seeing Snow and David, she risked losing Emma for good as well. Now all three people were in a Mexican standoff of sorts, with Emma squarely in the middle.
