"Oh, hello Mayday!"
"Hi, Mrs. Morales!" Mayday grinned while waving at the real head of the Morales-Davis household. "Is Miles home? We were supposed to meet up."
"Yes, he's in his room with Ganke right now." Rio moved out of the way and motioned her to come in. "They're probably building a Lego set."
"Well, they are building my new web-shooters. So you aren't that far off." She had been making some house-calls to Miles' house lately, mostly so that his parents got used to seeing her around. They were both nice and seemed to like her, though she did have to deal with some of Jefferson's little diatribes about how superheroes suck. "Thanks a lot. It's just going to be fast and then we're going to go see a movie."
"Oh, is that so...?" She couldn't help but notice the smirk on the woman's lips. "Well then, just be sure you two are back by seven!"
Mayday tried hard not to let the embarassment rise to her cheeks and merely grinned. That was the easiest way to deal with embarrassing parents.
"We're just friends, Mrs. Morales."
Rio rolled her eyes. "Sí, claro." She waved her off. "Let me know if you want anything to snack on before you go."
"Thanks!" She put her hands into her pockets as she approached the door. But as she drew closer she heard bits of a conversation between Miles and Ganke.
"You think it's the right size?"
"Dude, I know it's the right size."
"Yeah, but will it stay on if you're swinging around and stuff?"
"Hell yeah it will, now hold Spider-Man still!"
Mayday blinked. "Spider-Man?" What the hell was Miles talking about? He was Spider-Man!
"Meow."
Okay, now that was something new.
Mayday swung the door open and saw a very strange sight. Ganke was holding a little orange and white cat up while Miles was leaning down with a small Spider-Man mask being brought to the Cat's face.
Both of them turned towards her.
"...I can explain." Miles said simply before motioning to the cat. "This is... Spider-Man from Tao's Bodega. He wanted us to take him out to fight crime in a little Spider-Man mask and send him a picture. So, I got to work on this and... well..."
Mayday blinked once. Then twice.
Then she said the most logical thing for this situation.
"That is the most adorable thing I've ever seen. I'm in."
Within the hour, photos began circulating Twitter of Spider-Man and Spider-Girl kicking the recently escaped Ringer, but with a cat in a Spider-Man mask scratching the crap out of the supervillain's face.
It was, indeed, the most badass and adorable thing the internet had ever seen.
Spider-Man of Tao's Bodega now has his own Twitter and Instagram accounts with over fifty million subscribers.
Notes: After seeing the Bodega Cat mission for Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales, I just had to write this.
Hope you all liked it!
