Hey hey! Second chapter of the day! I hope you enjoy this as Skye gets to meet a few of her peers. I really love this story and am excited to continue it!

I'm also really glad that you guys seemed to like Kora too! She was one of my favorites this past season, so I just couldn't help but put her in this story!

Skye walked speedily down the primarily empty hallway, thankful that most people were in class. She kept her eyes glued to the floor, hoping to walk off the panic induced by the sound of the water bottle.

Skye was too focused on the floor and the poor attempts to slow her breathing to notice that she was about to directly collide with a boy stopped at his locker directly in front of her.

And collide she did.

She hit him hard enough to send both of them crashing to the floor, which caused the boy to drop his binder which burst open, scattering the papers inside all over the dingy hallway floor.

Skye sat up, having snapped back into reality, and noticed the papers strewn about as debris from their crash.

"Crap," She began helping him pick up the papers, embarrassment burning her cheeks. "I'm sorry, Are you okay?"

"Yeah, I'm alright." Skye paused for a second, looking up at the boy who began also picking up his papers. Skye noted that he was wearing a button up shirt. Who wears a button up shirt to school? "In any case, you've helped to delay me a bit longer from Calculus, so I think I should be thanking you, really." The boy smiled at her, which relieved a bit of the tension she was feeling, allowing her to smile in response.

"Well, I'm glad I could help you evade math class, then." She quipped back, feeling more comfortable.

Getting up, she handed his papers back to him. "Sorry for disorganizing all your papers, though. I hope they weren't too important?"

"Just all my math notes for the year so far, but I'll survive," He joked, scrunching his nose with a bit of a sarcastic grin. "You were walking pretty quickly, though," his face changing to reflect a bit more concern. "Is everything okay?"

Her anxiety began peaking again. What am I supposed to say? I ran away from a water bottle? Don't be stupid. After a second, she decided on "Oh, yeah. just wanted to get a drink and get back to class at a reasonable time, I guess," she replied, fiddling with the edge of her glove. "I'm already kind of behind from transferring, so I figured I should be quick."

"Ah, that's why I haven't seen you around. What brings you to Lincoln high? besides crashing into unsuspecting bystanders, of course," He smirked at her and she could feel her stomach flip, which Skye decided to chalk up to anxiety and definitely not the fact that this random kid who she'd probably never see again was slightly attractive. Okay, really attractive. Not that she'd ever acknowledge that, of course.

"Oh, my parents had to move for their job," she said, picking at her glove again. It's only a half truth, she thought. Besides, if I'm gonna bend the truth I should at least keep my story straight.

The boy had opened up his mouth to speak, but was interrupted by a relieved British voice.

"Ah, Skye, I see you've met Daniel."

Skye turned around, seeing the girl from her class that had sat in the front row with the curly haired boy.

"Mr. Coulson was worried after you ran, and you were gone a while, so he sent me to check on you." She smiled warmly, then, almost as an afterthought, added "My name is Jemma, by the way. Jemma Simmons. Nice to meet you!"

"Nice to meet you, too," Skye replied. "I'm sorry you got sent out here to chase after me." Skye felt anxiety creeping up. What happens if Mr. Coulson wrote me up? Would they notify the Garretts? She tried pushing those thoughts to the back of her mind, instead focusing on Daniel and Jemma.

"It was nice to meet you, as well, but I should probably get back. Sorry I couldn't keep you from Calculus for longer," she teased, feeling a smile form on her lips.

"That's alright, wouldn't want to keep Mrs. Amador waiting. See you around, Skye."

The rest of American History passed without incident, as did the rest of the day. She found out she shared English with Jemma and the boy she had been sitting with, Math with Grant, and Chemistry with Daniel. While it was nice to know people in those classes, Skye still found herself favoring her last class of the day; Computer Science. She had already gotten pretty good at coding from bored days with her laptop, but the formal education was nice.

The bell rang sooner than she would have liked, as she was in the middle of her coding project, but she was glad to have completed the day with few snags.

She began her walk home, hoping that when she got there, the Garrett's would be less upset. Were they upset? they seemed upset. I'm not even sure what for, though, she thought. She tried to stop worrying about it, but the nagging concern persisted. Guess I'll just have to find out when I get to the house.
