Two kids down

Becca asked for a oneshot of Charming insisting Snow go to work (as the mayor) while he looks after their 2 sick kids. He tells her he can easily handle it, but when Snow comes home he is passed out, exhausted, along with the kids.

Snow hadn't really been able to concentrate all day. She'd been on autopilot, just watching the clock tick down until it was five pm. As soon as the clock struck five, Snow left her office like a bullet.

David had been the one to insist Snow not skip a day. She had only been the mayor for a few weeks and the last thing either of them wanted was for people to start grumbling at her for slacking, or for Snow to fall behind on the work. It was hard enough keeping up as it was. When it was just Emma that had the stomach bug that had been doing the rounds, Snow was more comfortable about leaving. She was an adult, she would be ok. She had her dad there if she needed him. He had taken the day off from the station and left it in the dwarves' capable hands. Neither of them wanted Emma left on her own while she was sick.

Then, the previous night, Neal had fallen ill too. Snow didn't like the idea of leaving her husband to look after both their children when they were ill. He had, however, insisted they'd all be fine and ushered her out the door with a smile. Snow had tried to call several times, but he only answered once. Snow could tell by the sound of his voice he wasn't finding this as easy as he thought he might. The only reason Snow didn't close the mayor's office early was that he promised both Emma and Neal were doing well and were taking their medicine. He was also apparently fine, but Snow didn't believe that part.

Snow rushed home as quickly as she could. The house looked fine from the outside. No projectile vomit on the windows. That was a good start. She unlocked the door and hurried inside. Silence. Snow frowned. In their house, silence was deeply suspicious.

"Hello?" She called out. No response. Now panicking a little, Snow made her way into the living room. She relaxed at once, and smiled at the lovely sight. Clearly exhausted on the couch sat her sound asleep husband. In his arms was their equally dead to the world son, and their daughter at his side. Snow sighed gently and came over and checked both children's temperatures. Clearly still ill, but they had obviously been well taken care of. Not that Snow was surprised at that. She bent down and gently kissed her husband, careful not to wake him. He obviously needed the rest. Whatever would she do without him?
