Fictional tears
SeaweedBrain3000 asked for a oneshot of Snowing's reactions to Emma's reactions to Endgame. Obviously this will contain Endgame spoilers.
Snow and David didn't know fictional characters could invoke such a strong reaction. Emma was positively hysterical by the end of the movie.
Emma had finally convinced both her parents to try and catch up on the Marvel movies. Neither were exactly that bothered, but they could see it was important to Emma, so they gave it their best shot. Emma was ecstatic when they caught up in time to see End game on the big screen. It was the first of the movies they'd be able to experience for the first time together.
Only during the movie did the reality hit for Emma that this maybe wasn't the best movie to see her parents with. Not because it was inappropriate in any way, shape or form. Just because of how emotional Emma would become. She found forming attachments with real people difficult at the best of times, so she found she often formed strong connections with fictional people. Such as many of the characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Emma didn't really like anybody seeing her bawl her eyes out. Least of all her mom and dad. Particularly at both Black Widow and Ironman's deaths. By the time the end credits rolled, Emma was inconsolable. Snow and David had actually never seen their daughter so emotional before. Maybe they had to go back through and watch these movies again more carefully to spot why Emma felt so connected to the characters, particularly Black Widow. Maybe that would help them find a better relationship with their daughter.
