Chapter 38: The Man Who Knew Too Much

The last few days have been rough on the team. The day after confronting Castiel… did Ben and Lisa get abducted by Crowley and his goons. Sam and Dean went to save them; however, the next day Dean came over and asked for my phone. Not thinking, I lend him my cell phone only to which he went to my contacts and deleted Lisa's cell phone number. Time and again Lisa and I would contact each other.

Sam had to explain that Dean told Castiel to erase both Lisa and Ben's memory. As if Dean or any supernatural existed in their lives never existed. So we never brought up Lisa and Ben, only focused on how to stop Castiel and Crowley. That is when the boys asked me if I could know where they were or the spell they were using. So with a deep breath, I let my clairvoyant ability go overdrive in figuring out where Crowley was.

I was at Bobby's desk going over his notes, my own, and the internet to search for any demonic phenomena. My mind goes blank as my fingers typed away on the keypad and standing up constantly at a map. I don't know how long I was in this zone. Only when Sam or Bobby came over to give me food or tell me to rest did I stop. But it only lasts a moment. However, I can't get this block. But all that I am getting is Kansas.

When I snapped out of it, I found the place empty. Looking at my phone I found a text from Sam saying they were going to see Bobby's friend, Eleanor Visyak. If I recall correctly she is a monster who came out of Purgatory. Bobby told me about the H.P. Lovecraft while the boys were helping Lisa.

Suddenly everything felt off, that I started calling Sam. Yet he wasn't responding. I was about to call Dean when a sudden surge of pain stabbed into my head. I collapsed on the ground holding my head in pain as if my skull was being shattered. The wall…Sam's wall is gone.

I gasped covering my mouth. Our first fears had finally come. We don't know what hell will do to him with those memories. Dean managed to live through it because he was in the pit where are all condemned souls who made a contract go. But Sam…Sam was in the cage with Lucifer and Michael. The two angels who probably beaten his soul up till it was nothing but damage.

It was probably until noon did the guys arrive as Dean and Bobby carried a Sam in. Sam was unconscious as if nothing had ever happened to him. Yet my abilities told me something was wrong. So we took Sam to the panic room and rested him on the cot.

"Sky, what can you tells us?" Dean panicked.

I sat down on the cot and rested my hand on Sam's head. Taking a deep breath as my ability tries to figure this out, "He's alive…yet…he's in some sort of dream."

"A dream?" Bobby asked.

"I don't know how to explain it," I said. "Castiel put him in some sort of dream-like trance…like a Djinn would do. He needs to find his memories in order to wake up."

"How many?" Dean asked.

"I don't know, memories that we kept from him," I answered.

"So hell and….his soulless self," Bobby noted.

I nodded, those are the worse things Sam has ever done in his past after getting out. Bobby suggested he and I do research. Dean didn't say anything as he sat down and watched Sam.

Once we were upstairs, I looked at Bobby. "What if he doesn't wake?"

"We'll just have to wait and see," Bobby said.

.o0o.

A few hours later we came down to check on the boys.

"Anything?" Bobby asked.

"I can't just sit here, Bobby," Dean said as he stood up. "I've got to help him."

"Dean," Bobby said trying to calm him.

"You know, dreamscape his noggin. Something," Dean said circling around having his anger fit.

"You know what Cass did. The dam inside your brother's head is gone, and all hell's spilling loose. We don't what's going on inside." Bobby reminded.

"I don't care," Dean said. "We have got to do something!"

"And we will, but right now we got sixteen hours 'til they pop Purgatory," Bobby said. "I'm down one man. I can't afford to be down two."

"Yeah and how's that going, huh?" Dean said walking over to us, counting his list with his fingers. "We've got no line on Crowley. We got no line on Cass. Balthazar's M.I.A. I mean, all we've got is Sam, going through whatever the hell this is!"

"Dean," I snapped to catch his attention, which it did. Afterwards took a deep breath. "This is what Castiel wants…For you to fall into pieces or mental fit. What would Sam do if this was you, or Bobby, or me in his position?

Dean took a deep breath and came over to take the glass of whiskey off the table, "Find Cass, Bobby. Find him now."

With nothing else to say, I took my medical kit and checked on Sam's vital to see if there was any change while the boys thought about in finding Castiel. Taking a small flashlight I open Sam's eyelid to see pupil dilation. Luckily there was, but not enough to wake him up. Then I checked his breathing to see it was normal. Afterwards took his pulse…it was going fast. I debated if I should tell the guys, but decided not to.

Bobby and I tried to summon Balthazar which didn't work. Bobby headed down to tell Dean while I sat in my chair getting pissed off. There is one thing I could try, but I stopped doing it when losing my faith. But it was worth a shot. I pressed my hands together and prayed directly to Balthazar.

"Listen here Balthazar; I know you are trying to help a friend as am I. But you owe me for the Titanic incident. You brought Jo back and then took her away from me. So it's time to pay up. If you don't Castiel and Crowley are going to open purgatory and all hell will break loose. I know you know this is not a good idea. There is something worse living there than condemned monster. So if you have the decency will you, at least, give us the information of where they are located. Dean would ask you to join us. All I ask is the location. I know they are in Kansas, but where? Balthazar…"

After praying I sat there and waited.

About ten minutes later an angel appears in the living room. The tall man probably in his early forties with short brown hair and slight scruffs. He looked at me amused.

"The Skylar Harvelle heard so much from you." He said.

"Balthazar?" I asked.

"In the flesh," he answered.

"Will you help us?" I asked.

"Still thinking about it," he said.

Rolling my eyes, I've gotten up and lead Balthazar to the panic room where the boys are. Bobby was slightly surprised to see him as we came down. Before we could enter the panic room the angel stopped. Oh right, the angel sigils.

"Look what the cat dragged in," Bobby muttered.

"Well, at least, you mudfish finally got the angel-proofing right." Balthazar said then pointed at Sam. "How's Sleeping Beauty? You didn't steal any kisses, I trust?"

"What the hell took you so long?" Dean asked walking over to Balthazar.

"Honestly? I was having second thoughts." Balthazar said.

"About?" Dean asked.

"About whether to help you. I was thinking maybe... Maybe I should rip out your sticky bits instead." The angel said. "But your clairvoyant friend helped me decide."

"And what did you decide?" Bobby asked.

"Well..." He started pulling out a piece of paper and handed it to Dean. "Cass and Crowley are there. That's where the show gets started."

Dean opened the piece of paper and shows it to Bobby and me. It said Bootback Kansas. Dean then looked at Balthazar, "Alright, well give us a minute to pack up and then zap us there."

"Oh, no, no, no, no. I don't think so." Balthazar said. "I promised little Miss Skylar information and nothing else."

"Balthazar!" Dean yelled.

"I'm betraying a friend here," Balthazar said in a serious tone. "A very powerful friend. We all are. So I think I've stuck my neck out far enough already."

"Thank you," I said.

Balthazar nodded, "Good luck."

And then he disappeared.

Bobby and Dean looked at me.

"What did you say to him to help us?" Bobby asked.

I stared at my left hand that had a scar on the palm, "I told him I remembered."

.o0o.

The lunar eclipse was in ten hours there was no time left since it would be an eight to nine-hour drive to get to Kansas. Bobby and I packed two bags of supplies on the journey. Although we made a plan that I would stay with Sam while he and Dean get a head start to Kansas.

Bobby put the last of the angel blades in his bag, "Time's up, Dean."

"Yeah, just a second." Dean said, standing over Sam. "Sky-"

"I promise, once he wakes we'll come," I said.

Dean nodded and looked at Sam and knelt down, "Sam…You get your lazy ass out of bed and come and meet us. Sammy, please."

He then stood up and placed Sam's gun by his head before leaving. I wished the guys luck before taking a seat by Sam and held his hand and waited.

"Please wake up," I murmured.

A few hours went by when Sam's body suddenly jerked. I came over when a bright light appeared out of nowhere on his chest. I tried to restrain Sam down so he doesn't fall off the bed. Yet his body continued to toss and turn, twisting like he was having an exorcism in the movies. Then he stopped and the light vanished. I panted looking at Sam wondering if he was back.

"Sam..." I panted. "Are you awake?"

Instantly his eyes popped open.

Slowly he sat up, rubbing his head, "Yeah."

I sighed in relief.

"Where's Dean?" he asked.

"Dean and Bobby are going after Castiel," I said. "If we leave now we can make it."

Sam nodded as he grabbed his gun. Taking our weapons bag we gathered what we need and got into Ellen's jeep. I put the address Balthazar gave us and started driving while Sam sat in the passenger's seat.

"What happen?" I asked.

"Memento without the tattoos," He said.

I nodded and continue driving.

Sam told me how he started running through a city with no memory of whom he was and how he got here. Until a Bartender name Robin nervously tried to help him search for his identity. Only to be chased by Soulless Sam. Afterwards, things just had gotten weird from day turning to light so sudden, always smelling old spice and whiskey when he should smell natural things. He confronted Soulless Sam and got hit memories in a gun match and learned that Robin was one of his victims. He killed an innocent woman in order to kill a demon.

He apologized to Robin before she vanished and made his way to Bobby's where he found his torture self. His tortured self-pleaded, begging Sam to not relive the memories of hell. Yet Sam confessed he was tempted to stay and wait for Dean, Bobby, and I to find another way or Castiel coming back. However he needed to help Dean, so tortured Sam gave him the knife and he killed him. Afterwards, he had woken up to the sound of my voice.

I nodded listening to everything.

"And how do you feel now?" I asked.

Sam sighed, "A lot of things."

I don't know what to say, but I took his hand and squeezed it.

Suddenly Sam groaned holding his head.

"Sam?" I asked afraid.

"Just drive," Sam groaned.

Memories of hell are coming back with revenge.

.o0o.

We made it to our destination as we parked at the side of the road. However, we found the impala flipped upside-side down. Putting the jeep into park, we got out of the car to see if Dean and Bobby were there. Fortunately, they weren't, except the impala smelling like sulfurs. Demons in their true form must have done this.

Sam had another memory episode, making it number ten throughout the drive. But we didn't have time as the eclipse started. We rushed inside the building. Although, we entered the building shook for a moment then stopped. Something was not right. There was a new powerful source…more powerful than Lucifer…and unstable.

Soon Sam and I entered the lab where Bobby, Dean, and Castiel. Were Dean was talking to Castiel trying to get rid of the souls that he has consumed. Quietly Sam took the angel blade that was on the ground and came over to Castiel stabbing him the back. Yet nothing happened. Wait; when an angel dies there should be a bright light and energy blast.

However, Castiel stood unphased by the angel blade. Sam groaned as he stepped back as I caught him. Castiel sighed removing the blade out of his back still clean as if there was no blood inside the vessel, then set the blade on the metal table.

"I'm glad you made it, Sam…Skylar." He said, turning around facing us. "But the angel blade won't work because I'm not an angel anymore."

Oh shit, I thought.

"I'm your new god. A better one." Castiel said, opening his arms wide. "So you will bow down…and profess your love unto me, your lord….or I shall destroy you."

Fuck, we're screw.
