Chapter 41: Paranoid

Shock can do many things to people. It can make people fall into hysteria, numb, or merely breakdown. I felt so numb after seeing the Leviathan's true form. I've seen many things in the world. I fought many demons and gods, yet monsters…they are different. A crocotta and shapeshifter have I ever truly encounter when fighting monsters. Crocotta teeth extend while a shapeshifter takes another form yet they hold a human form. But a leviathan…other than its body, its face was no human.

Bobby took us to a suburban house in Sioux Falls. As we parked the cars and exited the vehicles I saw a mailbox saying the owner's home: Mills. This must be Sheriff Mills place. When we reached the front door, he rang the doorbell. It took several moments before a very stoned Jody Mills came out.

"Bobby?" She said surprised.

"Mind if we stay…I'm kind of homeless," Bobby said.

"Do I want to know why?" Jody asked.

"Smart monster," I said, and pointed at him. "Pyromaniac…"

Jody nodded and let us all in. Bobby thanked her, as she went to her room sleep off the pain medication. I sat on the couch still overwhelmed by everything. My clairvoyant abilities trying to adjust to the new information…yet it couldn't. As if the knowledge Athena gift has no knowledge of a Leviathan. Then again, how could it? Leviathans are the first beast. They were probably sent to purgatory before all humans walked the earth.

"What now?" I asked Bobby.

"Well, get the boys," he answered.

I nodded, taking my phone and called Sam. After several no responses I tried Dean's number but no response as well. I sense something was wrong and looked at Bobby. He took his cellphone discovering he had a missed call. He put the message on the speaker:

"You cannot be in that crater back there. I can't—if you and Sky are gone, I swear I am going to strap my 'Beautiful Mind' brother into the car, and I'm going to drive us off the pier. You asked me how I was doing. Well, not good! Now, you said you'd be here. Where are you?"

Dean sounded so desperate.

I looked at Bobby with fear.

"Track their cellphones," Bobby said.

I nodded pulling out my laptop and went through my phone records. I bought a family plan so Bobby, Sam, Dean, and I have a number of personal connections. I pulled up Dean's phone and went on the locator. After several minutes I found where Dean was and gave Bobby a scared look.

"They're at Sioux Fall General Hospital," I said with fear.

"Balls!" Bobby snapped.

"We need to get them," I said.

"We will, but we can't go as our usual selves." He said.

"I don't have my fake ID," I said. "Nor my suits."

Bobby sighed knowing this would be a problem. Bobby could go in there alone, except it would be a high risk.

"I got something," Jody said as she entered the living room. "Though, the clothes might not fit."

Bobby and I were thinking of a suit. However, when I followed the sheriff into her bedroom, she went to the closet and pulled out a police officer's uniform. She handed it to me; I was a bit doubtful since Jody and I don't look alike until look at the chest pocket and saw the last name on it. Instead of saying, Mills, the surname was Rhodes.

"My old deputies uniform before I was sheriff and married. The uniforms haven't changed so it should be a good in and of the situation." Jody said.

"Are you sure," I asked.

"The boys helped me out, it's the least I can do." She said. "I would go, except not in this condition."

I nodded.

"Well, we'll get them in the morning," Bobby said. "Let's get some shut eye."

We all nodded as Bobby took the couch, and Jody let me used the guest bedroom. My worry made it hard for me to sleep. Even with my ability kept telling me that Sam and Dean are fine at the moment. I still worry for my boys.

The next day, we dropped my car off at a hidden location of a cabin in the woods, before Jody drove us to the hospital. She was still in slight pain, but not enough to affect her driving. The plan was simple homeowners go in grab the boys and steal an ambulance to a pit stop where Bobby's van. Bobby was in a navy blue suit, crisped and clean that his hair was groomed and beard trim. I was in the uniform, my hair in a tight bun, and accessories of a police officer set. Surprisingly the uniform fit. Jody made a joke when I put it on saying, having kids will do that.

The thought of kids made me blush.

Anyway, back to the mission. We stopped at an area where security cameras won't spot us. When we entered the facilities, Bobby said he will find Dean while I go search for Sam. If our theory is correct, the Leviathan would go after Dean because he is more of a threat than Sam's condition based on Castiel's knowledge.

So splitting up I went to the front desk. The nurse at the desk looked at me with a smile, "Can I help you?"

"I'm looking for two men." I started.

"Aren't we all," She said.

I held back a smirk, "Anyway, two men came here last night by ambulance from the junkyard."

The nurse nodded as she typed on her computer searching for the specifics. After a moment she told me one is in recovery while the other is having an MRI. She gave me the details, after thanking her. I texted Bobby where Dean's room was and headed to the MRI sector. I tried hard to keep the act, making sure Dr. Leviathan was nowhere to be seen.

When I reached the scan sector I saw a male nurse pushing an unconscious Sam on a medical gurney.

"Hold it, who is this?" I asked the nurse who stopped. I grabbed the clipboard and take a look. "Yep, that's the guy. Coverage lapsed. We're shipping him to counting."

"Need help, ma'am?" the nurse asked.

"Nope, I got him," I answered, as I grabbed the bed and started pushing Sam to the ambulance dock.

Suddenly a hand was on my back. I jumped ready to grab my gun only to see it was Bobby. Sighing in relief, he helped me as we got outside and into an ambulance, which the hunter stole the keys.

"Where's Dean?" I asked.

"He's coming," Bobby assured, as we secured Sam.

I nodded, as I sat in the back with Sam. Bobby got out and closed the door before going to the front. He started the ignition. Carefully I looked out the back window, seeing if Dean would show. My heart was beating rapidly as each second passes by staying at the hospital doors.

The door swung open however, it was not Dean. No, it was Dr. Leviathan and another nurse. They looked everywhere till spotting us.

"Bobby!" I shouted.

There was a sound of a door opening and closing with Dean's voice shouting, "Go, go, go, go, go, go, go!"

With nothing else said, Bobby drove off.

I sat back down next to Sam and held his hand.

"You better be alive in there," I told him.

He squeezed his hands.

Three weeks later.

I was back in Columbus living my ordinary life. Things have been busy with work, as I was taking photography for many clients from The Ohio State University, businesses, and local city events. Sure, going to the everyday events in the city was fun with Cheryl and Alfie yet it wasn't satisfying. Not without constantly looking over my shoulder.

After the Leviathan incident, we spent a few days in a temporary hideout in South Dakota to make sure Sam and Dean were alright. Once Sam was awake, Bobby came up with a plan that the boys and he go to another hideout while I go back to my place to keep my charade. We don't know much about the Leviathans, but they didn't want to risk my normalcy.

I protested at first, but three out of four had me in my jeep riding back. The next day I was at work taking photos. And the next three weeks have been the same since then. All I know the boys were safe in Montana at one of Rufus's hideouts. I keep in, chatting with Sam, Dean, and Bobby. Sam was okay; though he sounded a bit distance though assured me it was the head trauma. Dean was bored beyond belief, probably because his leg is in a full cast. Bobby was doing fine; he was dealing with getting the boys settled and the paperwork of selling the junkyard. Surprisingly he had homeowners insurance.

Anyway, things have been careful. All we know is Leviathans can travel through water can possess the human body, have giant monsters mouths, unbelievable strength, oh and dropping a car can stop them. Even other hunters have encountered them. Everyone in the hunter community agrees to this: They are like shapeshifters, only a lot more into eating people.

Rules to follow:

Don't drink the water

Don't shower in water

Don't be near water

As a matter of fact, don't anyway near the water.

You be surprised how I stocked the apartment with bottle water lying to Cheryl that the water is more metallic tasting. Luckily she bought it, saying there have been cases of lead in the city's water system. So I don't have to worry about her drinking the water, except I can't stop her in the shower.

I, on the other hand, was stuck with dry shampoo sprays, lotion and razor shaving, and taking sponged baths with one bottle of water with the date before the Leviathan showed. It may seem paranoid, to the extreme, but until we can figure out this leviathan situation…let the OCD come in.

Of course, as I was in my apartment to do editing I grabbed my phone having it ready when it rang.

"City Morgue," I answered.

"Heh, still up for that crap," Dean muttered. "Anyway, is Sam with you?"

"Um no," I answered.

"Has he called you in the last twelve hours?" he asked.

"No, is everything all right?" I asked.

"Damn it," he breathed.

"Dean, I'm sure Sam is fine and needed some 'Me time'?" I said.

Dean scoffed, "Bobby said the same thing."

I sighed, "Just give him a few days and then hunt him down. I sense he is fine."

"Thanks," he muttered.

"Anything else?" I asked.

"Nope, thanks for the call." He answered then hangs up.

I sighed, I suspect Sam is going to have a nice Blackeye after this.

A few days later I get a call from Sam. He told me what happened the past few days. How an old case came to bite him in the ass, yet in a good way. His friend Amy Pond from his teen years who was a kitsune was in trouble and needed help. He understood that not all monsters are evil. Even Dean let her go and didn't go out killing her. A part of me hoped Dean agreed and that maybe he could meet my monster friends in Australia and understand everything.

Yet my clairvoyant ability told another story.

I know it is short.
