Chapter 42: Reunion and Betrayal

It was one of those lonely nights. Cheryl had to work late and then go to a business party. Alfie was studying for his exams. And anybody I know in Columbus was mainly busy. So I lay on the couch watching The Tudors while messing with dad's knife. Though memories of my sister kept popping up. Damn it, I missed my big sister. It has been too long since her death. We used to do so much stuff together. On slow days where Mom considered closing the bar, Jo and I would do anything. I remember a time she kidnapped me and we just went cross country. Mom was pissed, but she was glad us girls had fun. If Jo was still alive, no doubt we would either go bar hopping or something stupid.

"I was a freak with a knife collection," I quoted as I twiddle the handle around my fingers.

Suddenly it got cold.

Cold to a point I could see my breath

I gasped sitting up about to grab the salt when the apparition appeared before me. A woman who was pale, with blue lips, eyes dark, basically lifeless. Her blond hair showed volume as if it was still healthy and alive. She wore a pair of combat boots, jeans, a gray t-shirt, and wore a grayish green jacket. This could have been any ghost, yet she was no stranger.

A sense of choking filled me while the knife fell on the floor.

"Impossible," I cried.

"Hey sis," Jo said, with a small smile

"No, you can't be here," I said. "Your body was cremated."

"It's complicated," she said as she sat down. "Some Egyptian God brought me back. But it's temporary."

"Why?" I asked.

"Dean is being trialed," she said. "He has been found guilty. I assume Osiris wants me to see what I could've had going on….before the execution."

"But you can't, you care for Dean," I said.

"I'll try to fight it." She said. "But knowing those goofballs, they would break the spell before it happens."

Taking a deep breath I sat down next to her.

"You've changed, no longer a researcher." She noted

I nodded, "Hunter, researcher, and photographer."

Jo nodded, "Mom and Dad are proud of you."

I smiled softly.

"How's Ash?" I asked

"He's enjoying crossing others heavens," Jo said. "Especially with the greatest minds like Einstein."

"And you?"

"I can hop around to Mom and Dad, along with a few other hunters. Even met Van Helsing."

"Van Helsing, he's real?"

Jo nodded, "Even slain Dracula. Apparently, Bram Stroker was a Researcher like you and documented the events, with a twist of course."

"Impressive."

We talked for some time. We talked about the olden days from our childhood to hunting. She even brought up how happy Sam and I are together. Mom had a suspicion that there was something going on between us. Nothing serious, but knew there was something. Although, she brings up a message from Mom, saying to be careful and don't go too far into hunting. Yet Jo said to be me.

However, she that was when she started to flash.

"No, don't go," I said grabbing her hand. However, it right through her.

She gave an apologetic look.

"Remember, our blood."

Afterward she vanished. I sat there and began to cry. I had a chance to have my sister back and once more she was taken from me again. Turning my hand I saw the scar. Back when Castiel and Balthazar altered reality by saving the Titanic. Back in Carthage in that alternate reality, Castiel managed to escape the holy oil and got Mom and Jo out and healed my sister. So there was no loss. However, when Fate had the two correct History, Castiel wasn't able to save them.

Even though I have Sam, Dean, Bobby, Cheryl, and Alfie…it wasn't enough to have blood back. O has my mom and sister.

It would be the next morning did Dean called.

"Sky…you should know…Jo"

"Jo was resurrected for your trial." I finished.

Dean chuckled, "Let me guess, your ability."

"No Dean, she came to me," I said. "Osiris has a thing for the dead to rekindle to those they lost before the execution."

"Oh, right." He said.

"When she was…vanishing…was she set aflame?" I asked.

After all my years in the Supernatural business, when a spirit is vanquished either it is burning the bones or cursed objects that bound them to the living the go into flames in utter pain. Last night I worried for both Dean and Jo. How each could have died again.

"No, Sky," Dean sighed in a calm way. "She just faded with a smile."

I guess since she was summoned her soul wasn't tied to anything but Osiris magic. From what Dean said by Sam using the rams horns on the Egyptian god, did it put him to sleep? Therefore breaking the connection on Jo, letting her rest in peace.

"That's good," I said in relief. "And Dean…"

"Yeah?" he replied.

"I don't blame you for her's or Ellen's deaths," I said. "They were hunters even before you met us. They made their choice. And knowing Jo, she would gladly do it again."

Dean was quiet on the other end. After a minute he sighed, "I got one question. Did your sister ever had any feelings for me?"

I chuckled softly, "She did in the beginning."

"What changed?" He asked.

"You pull back and placing her in the friend zone," I said. "Ash used to joke the Harvelle and Winchesters would be the ultimate power team."

Dean gave a chortled.

"Well, I got to get ready for work," I said. "Tell Sam I expect a call later tonight."

"Will do," He said then hung up.

I sighed and got ready for work.

It has been a few weeks since Jo's return and the leviathan was now active than ever. Sam and Dean caught one with a help from a warlock. Let say it was an interesting story of the worst case of couple's therapy. A witch and warlock centuries old arguing over a possible affair that didn't happen and was willing to destroy the city to resolve it. Imagine if the real Doctor Phil dealt with them. It would be one awful curse after another on the Texan.

Anyway, the warlock put a spell on the Leviathan and Bobby's doing his cocktail of pain to figure out how to defeat the Leviathan before the spell worse off.

For me, I was doing a photoshoot in Columbus.

It was lunch time as I and the crew stopped at a local restaurant to eat. That is until the bar turned up the volume on the TV. It was the news going on a robbery gone murder spree. My hunter side kicked in as I looked at the television to see if it was supernatural or not. What I saw brought horror.

"The two men, who up until today were presumed dead, locked the doors and opened fire, leaving no survivors. Sam and Dean Winchester are the subjects of a manhunt throughout the state of California."

As they pulled up a video of Sam and Dean Winchester hold automatic guns at an open vault door of a bank. My ability told it was not Sam or Dean on the televisions. It was the leviathans; they must have gotten a sample of their DNA and altered their appearance to look like my boys. For one this is for sure, my boys would never kill innocent people intentionally.

When lunch was finished, I got in my car and called them.

"What the hell is going on?" I demanded.

"Seems like the Leviathan xeroxed us, from a hair in a motel we were staying at," Dean said.

"Oh god," I said. "What's the plan?"

"These Idjit are going to get new identities," Bobby answered.

"They will have to change their appearance as well," I added.

"What do you mean?" Sam asked.

"Damn it, you two don't watch a lot of crime shows," I muttered then explained. "You guys either have to cut your hair, dye it, or grow a beard until this is resolved. No doubt you two will be on the FBI's most wanted … again."

It was something I did. Every time I went on a serious mission I would change my appearance with makeup tricks or dye my hair. Did my hair blond for the Niveus Pharmaceuticals.

"No way am I shaving my head." Dean protested.

"She has a point," Bobby agreed.

"Well, I ain't shaving it," Dean said sounding like a five-year-old.

"Sky, Bobby has a friend who can help us. We will start from there." Sam assured.

I sighed, "Okay. But keep contact with me."

"We'll do," Sam assured.

We said a few more things before hanging up. I was worried about my boys. They went on a man hunt and faked their deaths before. But now, with technology far advance the past few years it could get them caught and killed.

Back at my apartment the next night Cheryl was intrigued about the case as she was keeping tabs on social media. Queasy about the conversation I told her I wasn't feeling well and went to my room. That was when Sam called me.

"What's the update?" I asked

"Well, Frank, the guy Bobby recommended to us is helpful. But there is a slight problem." He said.

"And that is?" I asked

"He wants five grand," Sam answered

I gaged at the price. I met hunters who got fake legit identities for at least a thousand. Sam and Dean don't have the cash. They make their money from credit card scams with fake names or gambling on a game of pool. Their third source of money was either Bobby or I. Since Bobby sold the property where the junkyard used to be, he got some money and with my job and inheritance, I got some cash as well. But damn, five grand.

"How many identities did you get?" I demanded.

"Four, one is the FBI's and the other a simple drivers license," Sam said. "Plus two burner phones and a laptop."

"And what year is a laptop?" I asked.

"Three to five years old," Sam answered.

"Damn it, I can buy you fucking tablets if you asked nicely," I said.

Sam sighed, "I take that is a no then."

"Sam, if what you guys say about the Leviathans knowing our lives and accounts, I can't transfer large amounts of funding"

"Understand," Sam agreed.

"I'm sorry," I said.

"Don't be, I'm just glad they haven't used you yet," he explained. "It would kill me if you got involved."

"Please be careful," I said.

"Will do," Sam said.

We finished our conversation. Taking a moment of getting settled I went to the kitchen to make dinner. While I was cooking I started to hum a melody that was now in my head. Cheryl was at the counter doing work though watched me. Yet I was overcome by this song, not realizing what it was until I got to the chorus,

"I'm all out of love; I'm so lost without you

I know you right believed for so long

I'm all out of love, what am I without you

I can't be too late to say that I was so wrong"

I just continued to sing that song while cooking. It wasn't until I finished the song did I realize Cheryl was recoding me.

"I don't know you were an Air Supply fan," she teased.

I rolled my eyes.

Damn Clairvoyant ability and connecting me to the Winchesters. After we ate dinner we watched the news again and saw the Leviathans had struck St. Louis, a mass shooting at a restaurant called Cone's Diner. Yikes, Dean will not be happy about this.

"Hey Sky," Cheryl started.

I turned my head to face her.

"You mention you have friends named Sam and Dean Winchester," she said.

"Yeah," I said being cautious.

"Are those by any chance them?" she asked,

"No," I answered.

"Are you sure?" she asked.

"Sam is dead, and Dean…he's married to Lisa and they are living in Hawaii right now," I answered

Her eyes widen in shock, "Oh, God, I am so sorry, I forgot about Sam."

"This is just coincidence," I said. "I mean Winchester is a common surname in the Midwest. Who knows, maybe they chose their name to be like that and it's not their name."

"True," she said. "I'm sorry I brought up your Sam."

I nodded informing her it was alright.

As much as I would love to tell her the truth. I couldn't risk her safety.

A few days later the news confirmed that Sam and Dean Winchester were killed at a police station. The Lone survivor was Sheriff Osborn. It was a relief, it was over since Bobby gave me the call confirming the leviathans were dead and the boys were safe. Also told me a way to kill a leviathan is cutting its head off and separating the two in a different location. Also Borax burns the hell out of them. So I made a mental note to fill a pepper sprayer with borax and other spray bottles around the house. Still no news from the real Sam and Dean, but Bobby assured me they need time to process and think. Fighting one's self is taxing.

Anyway, back to the current event as I sat in Cheryl room. As my roommate was packing her things for a getaway.

"You sure you and Alfie are okay?" I asked.

"Of course," Cheryl answered as she packed her suitcase.

Cheryl and Alfie were going for a couple get away for a group tour in Asia. They would be gone for two weeks. So, I don't have to worry about them…unless Naga is real. Shit, is Naga real? I mean, I met gods, angels, demons, witches, and monsters. So a many head serpent is possible. And they say they are going to Japan for the first two days, damn it, that means Kapas and Okame.

Damn it, now I fear.

At least I pulled in a favor and put traveler's protection charms on them. Well more on Cheryl purse and carving it in the bottoms on her shoes so it prevents monsters from coming near them.

"I wish you can come," Cheryl said.

"Sadly work calls," I answered.

Cheryl nodded; once she was packed we got in my car and drove to get Alfie. Afterward to the airport. Wishing them luck, and telling them to bring me stuff, I headed back to the apartment. It was a nice day, and I consider of going out going see a movie or something. But the moment I got to my place, Sam was sitting on the front porch with his head down. Parking my car, I got out and walked over.

"Sam?" I said surprised

Sam looked up and I could see a lot of emotions. But the most prompted emotion was a betrayal. Quickly I unlock the door, letting him inside. Sam dropped his back on the floor and went straight to the kitchen grabbing a bottle of beer. Then he sat down on the couch.

With caution, I walked over to the couch sitting down next to him

"What's wrong?" I asked.

"Dean, he lied to me," he answered

"What do you mean?" I asked

Sam took a deep breath and explained to me what has happened. That after the occurrence with Osiris, Dean has been acting strangely. At first, Sam thought it was because Dean holds too much guilt's, and seeing Jo, made him the fear of the next person Dean could feel even guiltier to after so many cases. Then the witch/warlock couple, and then the leviathan imposters.

The leviathan Dean told Sam about what the real Dean did. That Dean killed Amy. After months of Dean saying he let her go and understands, was all a lie. And that guilt got them in trouble all this time. When Sam confronted him, Dean's answer was, "Sorry, Sam."

I sighed; a part of me had hoped Dean would understand not all monsters are evil. Sadly after this, it has proven he wasn't ready.

"I guess I should get going," Sam said.

"Why?" I asked

"Your roommate is a journalist and I'm supposed to be dead." He answered.

"Well, Cheryl and Alfie are out of town for the next two weeks," I explained. "So, you're good staying here until then."

Sam gave a small smile and nodded.

"I'm sorry about Amy, I'm sure she was a nice person," I said.

He nodded, "The worse has she had a kid. I don't know if he is alive or safe."

"Want me to ask Jesse to find him and bring the boy to Australia?" I offered.

Sam nodded, "Or at least knows the boy is safe."

I nodded.
