Hey guys! I got a possible story idea. I've written the prologue here and I'll try to make chapters not long. So this is going to be a story about what if Beast Boy ran away from the Tower after a fight and would happen to both Beast Boy and the team.

I got inspired by some ideas from 90s Teen Titans's comics and by fanfic "At odds" written by "writer zero" when BB got away for some reason and tried to live a normal life. I don't know if it is Karma or fate, he failed miserably. There is some exploration of DC's mythology.

About pairings… something really important. I really like the idea of BBRae, but not a sudden "I love you". Rather a gradual progression of them bonding, but it'll take some time for them to see each other again. And, of course, Robin x Starfire. And, Cyborg x Jinx.

It is my sincere hope that you will enjoy reading it, though I am a very mediocre writer, but I am trying to get better xD. Whether or not that is a good thing is something I leave completely up to you. Please, whether you hate or love it, leave a review so that I may profit from your opinion. And I'll do my best to fix those mistakes before posting the next chapter.

Wish me luck guys. I'm really going to need it. And thank you very much for reading. Annnnd I'm sorry because I have limited time to write so I may delay in chapters.

Setting: Two years after "Things Change". A series of misunderstandings results in a fight between Teen Titans's members. Now one of them is gone. How well will the others manage with a broken team?

PROLOGUE

If there is one thing in life that is certain, it is that change is unavoidable and inevitable.

When things are going wrong, we sometimes feel like a veil of darkness has fallen upon us. Try as we might, we just can't see our way through to penetrating the fabric and letting the fresh air pour in.

You would think the older you get, the easier it would be to handle bumps in the road, right?

A lot of us discover that in actuality, it is quite the opposite. We think we have the maturity of face a crisis, as well as previous experience. Unfortunately, some of us find that certain crises remind us of all the negative things that have happened to us we have already faced in the past. We start to relive all the bad things, and become overwhelmed by the thought that it is all happening again.

That is what our blond friend here is dealing with right now. On a bus approaching to a place where people can get lost, he had been staring out of the landscape through the window since he sat in his place and nothing was what he had actually been seeing. He had been replaying each moment of the event of last week, but nothing could indicate such drastic change. Even in his darkest nightmares, he never imagined this kind of thing would happen with people who once he called friends and family. How he could be so wrong?

"So, are you running away?" asked the person next to him.

He turned his head, speechless. Totally absorbed in his thoughts, he would have been taken by surprise if someone had talked to him. However, after hearing that kind of question, he felt his whole body tense.

The blond guy hadn't really paid attention to his seatmate who kept his head resting on the seat, as if he hadn't said anything. Just knew, there wasn't anyone sitting on his side when he took the bus and for the most part of the trip remained this way. Maybe he hopped on the bus somewhere between Cleveland and Steel City. What did he want? Maybe the hood guy just wanted to start a conversation or something. Or maybe not.

With all his attention to his seatmate, our friend couldn't see the other one, because a red hood was up, hiding the other one's face. Even the other's voice was emotionless, remembering someone he knew.

"What?" asked the blond boy, trying to hide the maximum tension that was building inside him.

"You know what I asked," replied the other, still maintaining his position and in a calm and carefree voice. 'Maybe he just wanted to talk after all, I was really getting paranoid', thought the blond one.

"Yeah ... you can say that", he looked back at the window, trying to end this conversation as soon as possible.

"We've been sitting here for about three hours and you didn't take your eyes off the window for a minute. It must have been pretty bad," remarked the hood guy

"Let's say it's family problems ...," answered the blond boy.

"What a small world".

The blond looked back at his companion, who was still in a relaxed position. He could feel nothing hostile from the other, just an attempt to try to alleviate boredom or his own thoughts. Although, you can never be too sure these days.

"Sometimes families are too complicated," added the blond guy.

"You can say that again," replied the boy in the red hood. "So, what's your story?"

The blond guy sighed heavily. He didn't want to recall the events of a week ago. And also, I didn't want to give too many details so as not to be recognized.

"My family did something I never thought they would do," said the blond. "I felt a little betrayed, like an image that you created a long time ago shattered in a matter of minutes. I decided to leave. Moving to a new city, meeting new people and thinking about what happened."

Now the other moved. Slowly he looked into his seatmate's eyes. The blond boy can finally see the other's face. He could see the hood guy had black hair and blue eyes. And looked like he was the same age as his. However, there was something wrong with his eyes. There was a certain distant and cold look, and something more. Something more dead.

"Small world, huh?"

You too?" asked the blond with a slight tone of surprise in his voice.

"Yes. My ... father ... did something that I also thought he would never do it," said the hood guy. "He chose someone else over me. Someone really bad."

"I'm sorry to hear that," replied the blond.

"Thanks, but now I'm fine after two years away. Right now I am coming home to resolve these issues," completed the other guy. "And I'm really gonna resolve it…"

"And where was your refuge?" asked the blond, after noticing something hostile in the other's tone.

"I had never been in a place for a long time. It always kept me moving, but that's not really important," the other paused for a moment and continued. "You must be at the beginning of your ... journey, right?"

"Yeah ... I didn't know it was that evident," the blond replied, giving a slight smile.

"A little," the other replied, returning to a more relaxed position.

"So, if you're coming back ... what can you tell me about this city," asked the blond.

"It is a hard city which makes hard people, and for a long time, I hated it for it. But it was easy to hate the world, when only a small part of it was known," replied the other, "but not everyone lives a hard story. You have to create yours and hope for the best. Furthermore, it is a good city to start over if it is your intent."

"Hmm ..." was the only thing the blond boy said, 'That is not very…' his thoughts were cut when he perceived that the bus had stopped.

They saw that the bus had arrived at the bus station and some of the passengers started to get up from their seats and pick up their bags. The driver announced they have arrived at their destination.

"A piece of advice. During all this time that I was away," said the boy with the red hood, "I realized that there are some problems that there is no escape. Whatever your family problem, you will have to solve it eventually or it will start consuming you slowly. Take as much time as necessary to reflect, but it will have to be dealt with in one way or another."

The blond boy just watched for a few moments, while the other one got up to drive to the exit.

"Hey, ... eh ..., thanks," thanked the blonde. "And I never caught your name"

The other gave a slight smile, but very cold one and answered. "Jason. Jason Todd".

"Garfield Logan," replied the blonde.

"Well, Garfield, welcome to Gotham and good luck," Jason said before turning to get off the bus.
