"I swear," Sara sneered. "Those two are never where they say they'll be."

I snickered. "They're our older siblings and yet we're the responsible ones."

"I know!" Sara exclaimed. "They're-"

"Sara, I know you're frustrated, but we have more important things to worry about than your older brother." Maise said pulling my attention to her.

She was pointing to an alley where Carlos de Vil stood staring at the five of us.

"Kamal..." He whispered. "Ani. Maise. Léo. Sara..."

I smiled guiltily. Oh great! Just what we needed. "Hey Carlos, I know this looks bad-"

"Looks bad!? What are all of you doing on the Isle?" He snapped.

"Well..." Sara trailed off looking to me desperately.

I took a deep breath. "Trust us, Carlos, it wasn't our first choice either."

"Why would it be anyone's choice!?" He was becoming hysterical, on the edge of tears.

I stepped closer to him placing a hand on his shoulder. "Dude, are you okay?"

He flinched looking up at me. "I... I saw Nadia earlier... I've missed her so much... And now I find her here... All this time... Did- did..."

"Carlos, it's not like that," Ani said stepping forward. "She loves you more than anything. She never shuts up about you."

Carlos smiled weakly.

"Carlos, I'm counting on you being my brother-in-law." I said smiling at him. "You know Nadia went to meet your mother."

"She did what!?" Carlos's eyes snapped up to mine displaying fear.

"Yeah, she doesn't talk about it much," Ani said. "I don't think Cruella approved very much."

"She knows my mother and I don't get along, why would she put herself in danger like that?" He asked more to himself than any of us.

"That's Nadia for you," Léonne said smiling. "She ignores her own danger to make others happy."

"Cruella may be a villain," Sara added. "But she's still your mom. She still means something to you."

"Getting to meet Nadia is a privilege I didn't want to grant my mother," Carlos snapped. "But if Dia wanted to meet her, I'm glad she did."

Carlos looked between us. "So, what are you guys doing here?"

I put my arm around his shoulder. "If I divulge this information to you, you have to promise that you will not tell another soul."

Carlos gave me a curious look before nodding in agreement.

I smirked filling him in on the plan, our plan not Uma's.

"So that's why you four disappeared?" He asked.

"Yep," Ani said smiling. "We did not expect you guys to show up, and Dia to fall hopelessly in love with you though."

"Dia, you said she came up with this idea?" Carlos asked.

"Yeah," I answered thinking back. "One night when we were kids she came rushing into my room asking why we weren't allowed to choose who we get to be."

"See crown royalty, like me or Quinn or Dia or Mai," Léo said stepping forward. "We don't get to choose any aspect of our lives. We're too busy attending balls and learning how to rule."

"We even take a special class at Auradon Prep," Maise added. "That basically teaches us how to run a government, kiss babies, and other royal things."

"We can't date any other crown royalty because there isn't marriage potential there," Léo explained.

"Why can't you marry other crown royalty?" Carlos asked.

"They're in line for their own throne," Maise said.

"You can't be King of Corona and Prince Consort of Agrabah," Sara added. "You cannot play both roles."

"It requires you to be in two kingdoms at the same time, and, well, that's a good way for you to get over thrown." I said.

"It's basically a recipe for civil wars," Ani added.

"So..." Carlos looked to us. "While people like me weren't given choices because of the Isle; people like Nadia weren't given choices because of their title."

I nodded for him to continue. "People shouldn't have a predestined fate just because of who they were born as."

"So, Dia is fighting for people to choose their own path in life?" Carlos said smiling.

"Yes, yes, your girlfriend isn't a villain whoopee!" I said shoving him back towards the hideout. "Now, get back before Mal does. We'll see you later."

"Wait what?" He said before I turned from him leading my small group away.

"Thanks, Harriet, really," I said trying to convince the older to allow us to leave. "But Quinn and I should really get going."

Harriet rolled her eyes. "Fine, but you two do know that you're welcome here anytime."

I nodded pulling Quinn towards the dock.

"Sultan! Princey! Wait up! I'm coming with ya!" Harry yelled catching up to us.

"Oh! Does this mean we get to stop by Uma's!" I exclaimed.

Harry smirked. "Gil's been on King duty, there's no way he's making it all night."

"Oh yeah, Dia," Quinn said looking at me guiltily. "I told Ben."

"Told Ben, what?" I asked giving him a confused look.

Quinn bit his lip. "Why the group split..."

"Quinn! We had ALL agreed not to tell him!" I yelled.

"Yeah! I know! But it's been years!" Quinn defended. "And he approached me while I was doing Chem homework! My brain was fried!"

I hit him on the back of the head. "How'd he react?"

"He kinda," Quinn rubbed the back of his head. "He went beast because we all lied to him then after I yelled at him; he understood why we didn't tell him."

"Ben went beast over that?" I asked surprised.

Quinn nodded. "We were some of his closest friends."

I smiled. "Good to know he still cares."

"So what's going beast?" Harry asked. I jumped I had forgotten he was here he was so quiet.

"Basically, Ben gets really angry, and he starts roaring." Quinn explained.

"He used to tear things apart when we were kids, but he's got better control of it now that we're older." I added.

"I still wouldn't suggest provoking the beast though," Quinn said eying Harry.

Harry smirked. "Why would I provoke someone?"

I hit him. "You provoke everyone."

"Not true, Princess," He said.

"Name one," I rolled my eyes.

"Gil," he replied smirking.

I shoved him. "Gil doesn't count! He never gets upset!"

Harry laughed.

Within a few minutes, we were at the doors of Ursula's Chip Shop. I ran ahead of the boys. "Uma!"

Uma smiled upon seeing me burst through the doors. I wrapped her in a hug.

Harry and Quinn threw their swords in the sword check crossing the restaurant to the two of us.

"So what time are they bringing the wand?" Quinn asked.

Uma gave him a once-over suspiciously. "Noon."

"And can I hook beasty boy if they don't?" Harry asked smirking.

"At noon, Harry." Uma said rolling her eyes.

"You're almost off this island, Uma!" I said squeezing her arm excitedly.

Uma smiled at me. "So are you, Dia."

"I came here voluntarily, Uma," I reminded her. "But you're right our work here is complete."

I looked to Quinn. "The arrival of them marks the final phase of the Isle stage."

"From here on it's foreign lands," Quinn added smiling. "And I have a feeling Nadia and I are going to same one."

"Oh most definitely, Kami wouldn't have it any other way," I replied ruffling his hair.

Harry smirked. "I'd join ya, Sultan."

I smiled. "Oh you're most definitely coming." I turned to Uma. "Uma, I'd like to have you too if you wish to come."

Uma smiled. "If my plans fall through, I'll join you."

I nodded.

"I'm gonna go relieve Gil of guard duty," Harry said walking out of the restaurant towards The Revenge.

"I hate to see him go, but I love watching him walk away," Quinn mumbled. I hit him on the back of the head. "Ow! Did I say that out loud?"

"Unfortunately," Uma said rolling her eyes.

I laughed. "I ship it."

Quinn rolled his eyes. "Of course you do."

"Don't break my best friend's heart," Uma warned.

"Yeah! Don't break my new brother's heart!" I added.

"Brother?" Uma asked.

"See, I set Vitani on James Hook, and the Hook siblings declared me an honorary Hook." I explained causing Quinn and Uma to laugh.

"You set a tiger on the Captain Hook!?" Quinn laughed. "That is the best thing I've ever heard."

"Do you think you could do the same to my mom?" Uma asked laughing.

"Oh yeah, totally," I joked.

We sat talking for a few more minutes before Quinn and I left in search of our younger twins and friends.

"Hey Kami," I said as Quinn and I came in the place we had been staying.

"Where have you two been?" Sara snapped.

"Valkyrie, this little cove, back to Valkyrie, Ursula's Chip Shop, and now we're here." Quinn said.

"And you?" Ani asked crossing his arms.

"Well after Harry and I delivered Ben, Harry dragged me to The Jolly Roger. Then after I set Vitani to on James we got kicked out. The Hook siblings made me an honorary Hook, then we went to Valkyrie and I've been with Quinn ever since," I replied.

"Wait, what was that about Vitani?" Kamal asked.

"See Harry and his dad were fighting. Harriet tried to break it up. She insulted their dad a lot. James cut Harriet with his Hook, so Harry tried to fight him off. Things weren't looking good, so I had Vitani threaten him." I looked up to see a few of my friends snickering. "Anyways after Harriet, Harry, Callie, and I got out of there, they declared me an official Hook sibling because what I had done was too great."

"Callie?" Kamal asked.

"CJ," I clarified.

"And where are they now?" Maise asked.

"Harry's got guard duty on The Revenge. Harriet and CJ are both staying on Harriet's ship, Valkyrie." I replied.

"What were you two doing in a cove?" Léo asked.

Quinn and I shared a look. "We just wanted to talk in private."

"The cove seemed pretty and quiet and private." Quinn added.

Léo nodded accepting the answer though it didn't look like she believed it. I touched the vial of dreamshade in my pocket. We're really going to do this.

"Hey," Quinn broke the silence, "What's our plan for tomorrow?"

Kamal smiled. "We have to go back don't we."

"What?" Maise snapped looking at him confused. "What do ya mean we have to go back?"

"Mai, if you don't want to I'm staying behind," Ani replied. "You can stay with me."

"We have to attend cotillion," Sara said.

"It wouldn't be weird if you weren't there," Quinn added.

"You skip balls all the time," Léo laughed.

"True," I replied shrugging. "Besides people will be too distracted by Kami and I's return."

"Good," Maise said. "I didn't want to have to go to another cotillion."

We all laughed.

Andre:

The next day the five of us planned to go back through the barrier whether Uma's plan worked or not. We had prepared everything, so our allies could follow us. Before we left Quentin and I had to speak to someone on the nature of shadows.

We walked into the Facilier's shop fanning smoke away from our face. "Nadia!" Freddie exclaimed. "What are you doing here?"

I took Quinn's arm. "We're here to see your brother."

Freddie looked at us suspiciously.

"Hello, Sultan of Agrabah, King of Corona," Andre said coming from the back room. He gave a deep bow. "How may I be of service?"

"You have knowledge of the shadows?" I asked swallowing my fear.

"My dear," he smiled kissing my hand. "The shadows are my friends." He pushed the curtain aside. "Please step into my back room."

I shot Freddie a worried look before stepping through the threshold. Quinn and I sat at the table.

"So," with a flourish he sat across from us shuffling tarot cards. "How may my friends and I help you?"

"Is there a way to capture a shadow?" Quinn asked.

"Interesting," Andre said leaning back in his seat. "And why do you want to capture a shadow?"

"Let's just say there's someone we know that requires the correct leverage," I replied.

"And their shadow would do it," Andre replied. "A shadow contains a person's soul, their very own moral compass, the longer it is disconnected from a person the less human they become."

We nodded in understanding.

"Capturing a shadow is not an easy task," Andre said. "You mustn't let it slip from you," he chuckled. "Shadows are good at that."

Quinn and I shared a look. This won't be easy.

"I might have something to help," Andre said stepping from the table and grabbing something I couldn't see. "It's yours for a price."

Quinn and I nodded at each other prepared to negotiate prices.

I shivered causing Ming Yu to laugh. "You're the one that wanted to talk to them."

"I know! That doesn't make them any less creepy," I snapped.

"Kamal," Ming Yu smiled. "I'm going to miss you."

"It's going to be a few days," I said.

"Yeah, I know." She avoided my eyes.

"Thanks for coming with me," I said taking her hand.

"Of course,"she smirked. "You need protection."

"I can protect myself," I rolled my eyes.

Ming Yu snorted. "I know you can."

I smiled at Ming Yu not noticing that her hand hadn't left mine as we walked through the streets of the Isle.

"So we ready to go to Auradon," I asked as Kamal came through the door.

"If you guys are," Kamal answered.

"Awesome," I said. "Let's go before I change my mind."

Ani smiled at us. "See you guys in a few days."

I smiled at him with a puff of smoke we were standing in the courtyard of Auradon Prep.

"Kamal! Nadia!" Jane exclaimed.

"Where have you two been?" Doug asked.

"Dia! Did I hear someone say Nadia!?" Jonas exclaimed. He came barrelling over with Xeno, Elisa, and Petter.

"Hey guys!" I smiled giving them a group hug.

"Nadia," Elisa said. "Bless this day. My brother can finally stop complaining."

"Dia! I've missed you so much!" Xeno yelled.

"Dia, without you these people have been so annoying," Petter said rolling his eyes.

I laughed. Our excited crowd was interrupted by paparazzi.

"It's the Ababwa twins!"

"Nadia! Nadia! Did you run from marriage!?"

"Kamal! Do you still feel like the leftover twin!?"

"Let's get out of here," my brother hissed as he dragged me inside the group of friends protecting us from the paparazzi.

We made it into the entrance hall collapsing on the sofas inside.

"Ugh, they're like vultures," I snapped.

"We should contact mom and dad," Kamal said. I nodded in agreement.

We headed up to his dorm to do just that. There was a thin layer of dust on everything. I smiled to myself.

"Hey Mom," Kamal said into the landline.

I found a spot underneath a tree trying to avoid all the stares. I sat down opening a book. I thought of everyone I had to leave behind on the Isle. I wonder how Uma is.

"Hey, stranger," a voice said.

I looked up. It was Carlos and Dude. I smiled widely. "Carlos!"

I jumped up ignoring appropriate social norms and wrapped my arms around him. Tears fell from our eyes. "I've missed you so much."

"Nadia," he breathed. Before he could say anything else I pulled him into a kiss.

"Hey, can you two please put me down before you continue that," a voice said. I jumped back in surprise.

"Sorry, that's Dude," Carlos said giving the dog a look.

"Hey! I'm just trying to save myself," he protested.

"How long has he been able to talk?" I asked.

"A few days," he mumbled. Carlos took both my hands in his.

"I have missed you so much. I have so much to tell you. Carlos," I rubbed his cheek. "I love you so much."

"I love you too," Carlos said. "Your brother told me your plan."

I smiled. "Are you in?"

"Of course," Carlos gave me a kiss on my cheek.

"Carlos," I looked down. "I know this is sudden, but I have to be married by the time I'm 18. I also have to marry a Muslim man. Would it be too much to ask of you to marry me?"

Carlos lifted my chin to look me on the eye. "I would be honored to marry you." He kissed me. It was sweet and slow. "Now let's go get ready for cotillion."

I smiled allowing him to lead me off Dude following at our feet.
