Just a fun premise, put Summoner in his 30s so this pairing is less creepy.
"Summoner!"
Kiran turned to see Est running at him. He looked down to see her put a necklace in his hand.
"I got this love charm from a store today. Hopefully, you find love soon!" Est smiled and waved as she ran off. Kiran tipped his head before shrugging it off before continuing his rounds in HQ. Est was a sweet girl, after all, maybe she wanted to do him a favor for once. As he was walking around, he spotted Tharja walking up to him, placing a ring on his finger.
"Hehehe, consider this a gift from me, any woman's heart should be yours so as long as you wear this!" Tharja grinned before walking off cackling. Kiran paused for a few moments before continuing his way. Tharja was an odd woman, so for his own well-being he should refrain from wearing the ring he gave her.
As he was checking out the training grounds, he ran into Jakob and Corrin, who handed him a box of chocolates, confusing Kieran even more.
"Hey Kieran! I'm so happy you're here! Jakob and I were working hard to make these chocolates for you so you can give them during Valentine's or whatever your people call that day!" Corrin smiled.
"Quite so, and I heard that Gunnthra, Nagi, and quite a few other ladies are free for dinner tomorrow evening sir."
Kieran nervously smiled back before immediately stomping off. He looked around frantically before finding Sharena chatting with the other heroes, quickly pulling her aside and glaring at her.
"You didn't tell everyone I was divorced, didn't you?"
"Um..." Sharena nervously smiled and avoided his gaze. Kiran breathed deeply, and paced around, massaging his temple. Sharena was confused by this reaction. "Why are you so mad about it?"
"Why? It's embarrassing! That story was for your ears only! I don't want everyone knowing what I did and my mistakes from my first marriage!"
"I didn't tell anyone the story, I just said that... you were lonely and wanted to find love again! Nothing more!" Sharena retorted defensively. Kiran looked at her
"I mean, I am. But asking for boons from other heroes for Valentine's won't fix it Sharena." Kiran sighed before leaning his back against the wall. "The divorce is a lot more complicated than 'I want to love again', Sharena. I do, but I also made a lot of mistakes that I'm having a hard time getting over. I can handle it myself, don't worry."
Kiran immediately walked away, leaving a worried Sharena.
Valentine's Day came, and though everyone had been bonding with their lovers, or courting the ones they had yet to win over, Kiran was alone. Kiran didn't like big gatherings anyway and sought to find a place that was free of any presence. He decided the royal gardens would do, the beauty of the flora and the calming sound of the waters would be good for his mind. Kiran sat down at the fountain, sighing as he opened his phone, which somehow magically stayed charged even in this world. He leaned back and opened the gallery, scrolling through pictures of himself, his wife, and his two little girls. It wasn't about love for him, it was about screwing up his only shot at being a father and husband. It wasn't the fact that he was lonely, it was the fact that he couldn't be with them because of the mistakes he's made.
"Kiran?" A mature voice called.
"Oh?" Kiran asked, turning to see Queen Henriette herself looking down at him. "Your Highness, to what do I owe this visit?"
"Nothing, I just don't see you much around here is all. Shouldn't you be out there trying to find a lass to woo?" The Queen teased.
"How old do you think I am? I'm way past the age of being able to do something like that with a serious face." Kiran rolled his eyes. "And no, just trying to get my mind off things. Valentine's isn't exactly a day I enjoy."
"I'm well aware. Sharena's told me about your... problem."
"Did she send you here to sweet talk me to finding love or whatever?"
"No, no." Henriette stifled another giggle. "I'm just more interested to hear about what sort of relationship you had with your wife before you separated. Before you married, I mean."
"Before we were married, I was such a dumb son of a bitch." Kiran laughed a little. "I used to drive her out to the beach where we'd swim together, watch the sunset, and eat a romantic candlelit dinner. I'd take her out to the movies too, and we'd watch a corny one which we'd laugh at later after. I was in love, alright."
"Sounds like you were quite the romantic. Gustav would do the same for me as well when he wasn't playing the heroic prince. He'd sneak me out of the castle so we could enjoy the town festivities and eat a lot of delicious food on the streets. He'd then take me to this hill far away from town so we could watch the lights go off." Henriette recounted with great pleasure. "When we married and had children, however, there was just no time for that. And with his kingly duties, Gustav could hardly find the time for anything anymore."
"That's so true, marriage and children just throws your whole life upside down." Kiran laughed sideglancing at a picture of his daughter on his phone.
"That's your daughter? How old is she?"
"By now, she'd be a little under Sharena's age actually." Kiran mused before tucking his phone in, sighing deeply. "Sharena just doesn't understand really. It's really not about the love or whatever, I could not care less if I could find another woman who'd make me less lonely, but I can't get over the fact that I wasted my only shot at being a good father and husband. It's my fault and I can't seem to ever forgive myself for making that mistake."
Henriette frowned, though with a gaze of understanding. Being a mother and a wife, she wouldn't know what she'd do if she ever failed to give her family the love they needed, it was something that bothered Gustav greatly as well. Responsibilities that kept him from being a true father to Alfonse and Sharena.
"I don't know, some nights I just feel like I deserve to be alone. Stupid me right?" Kiran chuckled bitterly. "In an order surrounded by the most beautiful women I could possibly ever dream of as a little boy, I decide to just throw my advantage away."
Henriette placed a comforting hand on Kiran's shoulder.
"I know what I say probably won't be useful, but I personally think it's never too late for another chance. You clearly loved your wife and daughter enough to care that you neglected them, and loved them enough that you regretted doing that to them. Things might not be the same ever again, but at least now you know what you've done wrong, so do what's right when the chance comes by again."
Kiran reflected deeply on those words, looking at the photo of his family again before smiling.
"Hey, that did make me feel better." Kiran laughed a little, sitting back and gazing towards the sky. "I probably won't throw my hat back in the ring anyway, since I'm too old for too many of those formalities. I'll just take things slow, and hopefully, have another family to do right by."
"That's the spirit. Now, do you wish to return to the Valentine festivities to start?"
"Oh hell no, I'm not even remotely close to doing that willingly. Eating chocolates in the royal garden is good enough for me." Kiran laughed a little before opening a box and taking a piece to eat. He then offered the box to Henriette. "Want one?"
Henriette, surprised by the gesture, smiled and took the chocolate. They both glanced at the beautiful scenery before them while eating delicious, milky chocolate from a heart shaped box.
Done.
