The rest of shift passed slowly with Catherine getting increasingly more anxious about their upcoming date. It had been one thing flirting over text and sharing a few heated kisses but it was another thing entirely now it was actually happening. She had no idea what Sara expected to come from this date. What if she wanted more than just a nice night out and maybe a kiss? What if she thought this meant that Catherine was ready to take the next step and have sex with her? Catherine wasn't sure herself that she was ready for that yet. She had only just recently come to terms with the fact that she was attracted to another woman, and while she had thought of what it would be like to be with Sara in that way and had been aroused by Sara's kisses and touches, she just didn't know. It was all so confusing. She liked Sara and wanted to see where things could go between them but she needed time. Everyone knew Catherine was a woman who was unafraid of her sexuality, she had even boasted about it on more than one occasion but this was different. This was a woman. She knew how to be with a man, that was easy. A flash of your boobs and they were ready to go. Blowjobs, a few moans here and there and most men were satisfied. But how would she please a woman? Did Sara prefer oral or fingers? What if she expected Catherine to wear strap on? God, she just couldn't get it a straight in her head and it was slowly giving her a migraine.

She dropped her head into her hands and rubbed her temples with her fingertips in a feeble attempt to rid the dull ache from her head. A knock at the door rang through the quiet room.

"Go away." She mumbled not lifting her head.

"What's eating ya girl?"

Catherine lifted her head and smiled at her friend. "Hey Rick."

Walking further into the room Warrick pulled out a chair on the opposite side of the desk and sat down. "Okay spill." Catherine sighed and shifted some papers around on her desk to try and buy her some time and to try and think of what to say. How to explain what was happening. "Cath?"

Catherine lifted her head and met his eyes, shrugging slightly. "It's nothing really, just a date."

"A date? You're getting all eaten up about a date."

Catherine chuckled softy. "Shock, I know." Warricks easy-going manner and their long-time friendship just seemed to make it easier to open up to him. "This one's different. I don't want to mess it up."

Warrick ran his thumb over his chin while observing the woman in front of him. He'd never seen her so concerned about a date; she was normally the outgoing one. He'd even known her to be the one who had initiated dates in the past. This guy must have been something special for her to be in such a state over him.

"This isn't a blind date is it? You do know the guy?"

"Yes, I know them. I've known them for a few years actually, things have just changed recently. The dynamic has completely shifted, I feel like a fish out of water." Her body seemed to deflate slightly. "I've never felt like this before and I don't know how to handle it."

Warrick watched her as she spoke, taking note of how her voice seemed to sing when she spoke about this mystery person.

"We've kind of been seeing each other for a week or so but haven't had a date yet. There's been…kissing and stuff," Warrick smirked as Catherine's cheeks tinged pink at the mention of them being intimate.

"Why Cath, I do believe you're blushing." Catherine groaned and covered her face with her hands in embarrassment. "Hey, I'm just teasing." Warrick sat up straighter in his chair and rested his elbows on his knees. "So you know each other fairly well then?" At Catherine's nod in the affirmative he continued. "Then I don't think you need to worry. Just be yourself, I'm sure that's all he really wants anyway."

Catherine smiled softly, he seemed to make everything seem so simple but she so wished she could tell him the full truth, she just didn't know if she was ready to put everything out there yet.

By the end of shift Catherine had managed to reign in her thoughts and had actually managed to get a decent amount of work done before heading home. She had changed into her pyjamas and was lay in bed when her phone rang. Without looking at the screen, she already knew who it would be; she picked up the phone and answered.

"Hey you."

"Hey," Sara's voice replied down the line. "I didn't see you again after our little stop in the breakroom." Catherine could hear the smirk in her voice.

"That's probably a good thing."

"Really? How so? Because I seem to think it's a very bad thing."

Catherine took a deep breath, how could Sara's voice be affecting her so much. "Because you seem to be able to make me lose all coherent thought whenever you're near me."

Sara hummed down the phone slightly. "I like the sound of that."

"Sara."

Something in Catherine's voice immediately got her attention and she sat up in her bed. "Yes?"

"About the date…" Catherine's voice was tentative, nervous.

"You're not cancelling are you?"

"No. Nothing like that. I'm just…it's the sex."

Sara's eyebrows shot up. She wasn't expecting that.

"The…the sex?"

Catherine took a deep breath, gathering all her nerves. "Yes. I don't know how to be with you. How to please you. I'm not sure if I'm ready for that yet." Her voice was quiet.

Sara found Catherine's nerves adorable. And entirely justified.

"Hon, I'm not expecting to jump into your pants straight away. We will take as long as you need. And just for the record, anything you do will be more than enough to please me. God Catherine, you have no idea how you affect me. And when that does happen I will guide you, I'll show you. But when it does happen you better have nothing planned for the next day because by the time I've finished worshipping every inch of your beautiful body you won't be able to think let alone move." Sara's voice grew huskier the longer she spoke.

"Wow Catherine finally muttered.

"Wow good or wow bad?"

"Good. Definitely good." Sara smiled at her reply.

After assuring Sara a few more times that she was okay now they hung up the phone.

The next day at work Catherine was busy typing away on the computer when Sara walked into the office and closed the door behind her.

"And to what do I owe the pleasure?" Catherine asked, glancing at the other woman.

"I just wanted to let you know everything's booked for Saturday."

Catherine smiled and removed her glasses, placing them on the desk in front of her. She hated wearing them but needs must.

"Great. Do I get to know where we're going?" Sara shook her head no. "Oh come on. At least tell me what I should wear."

Sara leant her hip against the side of the desk and seemed to think for a moment. "A dress. Not too fancy though."

"That's all you're going to tell me?" This time Sara nodded. "Sara I need more information than that."

"Sorry hon but that's all you're getting." With a smirk Sara stood up straight again and made her way to the door. She knew if she stayed Catherine would easily be able to get any information out her she wanted. She had zero willpower when it came to the blonde woman. At the door she turned and looked back at Catherine still sat at her desk looking dumbfounded. "By the way, you're sexy as hell in those glasses."

Sara left the room as Catherine looked down at the black framed spectacle and toyed with the arms thinking maybe they weren't so bad after all.
