"Silent night, holy night, all is calm, all is bright." Chloe loved hearing carol singers. Gran wasn't super religious but would always take Chloe to the carol concert. Silent night was her favourite! Chloe stood and watched them outside the hospital for a moment before going in for her night shift. "You've always loved Christmas lights you know." Ange Chloe's mum said tenderly coming to stand next to her daughter. "I just love Christmas." Chloe smiled. "And silent night is my favourite carol."

"I remember." Ange said. "I can't wait for Christmas with you and your Gran. Is there anything specific you wanted as a present?"

"Gosh, mum, I've not even thought about that, I'll probably buy you a scarf as usual. I'm sorry I'm so bad at gifts!"

"That's okay. I like scarves." Ange tenderly put a hand on her daughters shoulder. "See you later Chloe. Have a good shift." Chloe walked into pulses and saw a woman with two young boys looking frazzled. "Hi, can I help you?"

"Sorry, my brother was ment to meet me here half an hour ago to take these two monkey to see Father Christmas." She nodded towards two boys a few meters away, "muum, Zach pushed me!" One little boy yelled.

"But Jasper said I was stupid." The other wined. "Boys, come and sit down."

"Wait a second." Chloe said "are you Phoebe?"

"Yes, how did you know?" The woman asked.

"I'm Chloe, Evan's boyfriend I thought I recognised you from the photos."

"Chloe?" Phoebe asked.

"Yeah, that's right. I've heard a lot about you, and the boys. I bet he spoils them rotten!"

"He does, I've heard a lot about you too! You are so much better than Sophie?"

"Sophie?"

"His ex. I never liked her from the beginning.

And then spreading lies about him like that. Saying all that stuff. And then everything with Felix. Not letting Evan see him. She was manipulative. I know Evan was worried about coming back to holby after everything. You seem lovely though." Pheobe smiled.

"Back to holby?" Chloe asked.

"Not the hospital of course, but as I'm sure you know he trained at St James's and that's where he met Sophie, he wasn't sure how far her vicious lies would have spread."

"Chloe!" Evan's voice made her jump. "I see You've met my sister Phoebe then."

"Uncle Evan." The younger boy said as Evan picked him up and kissed the taller boys head.

"Yes, we were just having a girlie chat." Phoebe smiled, "lovely to meet you Chloe. I'm sure I'll see you again soon. Best get these two terrors to see the man in red before they're put on the naughty list."

"Chloe, you okay? You're being very quiet." Chloe's friend Nicky asked

"Yeah, yeah. Just something someone said." Chloe mused but didn't give anymore away. She was confused. Evan had never mentioned a Sophie and who the hell was Felix and he'd always told her he'd trained in London! He'd told her his last (and only long term) girlfriend was called Rachel, she worked a normal 9-5 in marketing And they broke up because of his long work hours. He never mentioned a Felix.

Chloe went home to Evan's. She was planning to go home to the girls but she couldn't get what Phoebe said out of her head. So many unanswered questions. She knew she was probably being paranoid and there was probably a perfectly normal explanation.

"Good Morning. She said as she stepped into the lounge of the flat where Evan was watching tv. He muted it and she went over to kiss him and sat across from him on the opposite sofa.

"Are your nephews still on the Good list?" Chloe asked jokingly.

"Seems so." Evan replied.

"It was nice to briefly meet them, and Phoebe." Chloe said.

"You seemed to be getting on well. I'm glad my two favourite women."

"Evan." Her tone changed. "Why did you tell me you trained in London, Phoebe told me you trained at St James?"

"Yes I did for a few months, then I went to London."

"You never mentioned that." Chloe said.

"I didn't think it was important. It's not. People move around." He replied calmly.

"And who's Sophie?" Chloe asked strongly.

"Ah, Sophie." Evan said but still seeming calm. "I realise now I should have mentioned her. Let me tell you the reason I didn't. She was a junior doctor too, and her father is Prof. Alan Taylor."

"The neuro surgeon at St James?" Chloe asked.

"Exactly. It ended badly and she started spreading lies about me and you know what these top consultants are like. I worried that you mum might know him and they might talk and I didn't want you to get the wrong idea and hear her lies, because that's all they are. Chloe. Lies."

"And Rachel, you told me you used to date someone called Rachel."

"I did, before Sophie. Finished with the Spanish Inquisition Chloe." Evan said sarcastically.

"One more thing." Chloe asked "who's Felix?"

"Our dog. Sophie and mine."

"You called your dog after a cat?" Chloe asked.

"Sophie thought it was witty." He replied

calmly.

"Really." Chloe scoffed

"Don't you trust me Chloe. I trust you."

"No. I do. I knew they'd be a perfectly reasonable explanation. I just wondered what they were." She backtracked

"Chloe, I know you struggle, and you need answers and I respect that. It's okay, I forgive you." He went over to the sofa she was sat on and hugged her. "I'm sorry, I do believe you and trust you." Chloe felt so guilty, he was her boyfriend she shouldn't be questioning him. Her boyfriend wouldn't lie to her.
