"Oh Gran it's so good to see you!" Chloe said hugging her grandmother and took her suitcase "How are you?"

"I'm fine Chloe, darling, and how are you?" Gran said holding her at arms length. "Have you been watching your weight?"

"Just trying to be healthier. and I'm fine Gran. Just busy."

"Chloe, don't lie to me." Gran had an almost psychic ability to tell when Chloe wasn't doing so well.

"It's been a tough few months but I'm doing a lot better now." Chloe said confidently.

Ange was working the whole week so she could have Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing day off so Chloe picked Gran up from the airport on 22nd.

"Is Rosie okay at Great Aunt Eileen's?" Chloe asked after her Grans beloved dog. "Yes, and she'll be completed spoilt by thé children I'm sure" Sheila (gran's) younger sister Eileen has had 4 children. The children were all younger than Chloe the eldest was 30 and the youngest was 18. Chloe had always counted them as her cousins since she didn't have any of her own.

"Have you eaten Gran? I could take you out to lunch? Or would you rather just go back to mums? Or we can do some Christmas shopping. There's a gorgeous Christmas Market in Bath. It's not far."

"You know what Chloe is love to just go back to your mums and relax. With a Christmas film maybe. I know how much you enjoy love actually."

"Sounds perfect Gran!"

Chloe drove Gran back to her mums and felt the calmest she had in ages. Her Gran has that affect on her she felt her stresses melt away.

"So come on then, fairy" Gran smiled at her granddaughter "tell me everything that's going on in Chloe land." Chloe had always been a quiet child, Gran would always ask what was on Chloe's mind by asking what was going on in Chloe land. Chloe sighed "A lot."

"Go on..."

"Well. I'm doing better after having a tough few months, some things are going well, I have a lovely boyfriend. Remember me telling you about Evan? I'm actually moving in with him after Christmas. And I'm getting on better with mum. and even though it was a huge shock. I do like Dom. And I'm doing really well in work. I'm doing a big research project and my boss, Ms Naylor she's known as one of the scariest people in the hospital likes it which is exciting so hopefully I'll be able to get funding soon. I'm okay though gran. Evan looks after me so well."

"Umm." Gran looked at Chloe unconvinced. "Let me get something." Gran took a small plastic bag out of her large handbag and passed it to Chloe, she looked inside and broke into a smile. It had been Chloe's first Christmas not at Grans in Scotland but Gran had brought some of Chloe's favourite decorations. "Go on fairy, let's mess up your mums beautifully planned tree with homemade decorations. Ange's tree had been decked out in black and silver baubles. No tinsel or homemade decorations, Chloe preferred homely, tacky, personal decorations and gladly put them on the tree. "I can't believe this one survived. I made it in primary one." Chloe smiled looking at the toilet roll centre angel with doily wings. One of the wings was ripped and it's halo had fallen off years ago but Chloe was touched that gran had not only kept it but had brought it along with about 10 more of Chloe's favourite tree ornaments. "It's tacky but I love it so much more than boring black and silver."

"Me too." Gran agreed.

"Hello?" Ange smiled coming in to the living room just as love actually was finishing. "Hi mum."

"Hello Angel" Gran said embracing Ange. "Lovely to see you mum." Ange said.

"I'd best get going then." Chloe smiled.

"Can't you stay?" Gran asked.

"No mums only got one spare room. I'm going back to mine. A house share with 3 other girls, they're lovely."

"But you're still planning to move in with your boyfriend?" Gran asked

"Because the girls are all moving out so it makes sense for me to move in with Evan. I stay there so often. See you later mum, Gran" Chloe left.

"Is she really okay?" Sheila (Gran) asked Ange.

"I wish I knew." Ange said. "I mean you know she found out about my son. Dom right? She struggled with that and she's still not sharing stuff with me yet." Ange said sadly.

"Angel...I'd really like to see him. But would that upset Chloe? Do you have a photo? I'd love to hear about him." Sheila said. Ange showed her a picture on her phone. "He's wonderful. Funny and caring. He's married."

"Oh wonderful what the name of his wife?" Sheila asked

"Husband." Ange corrected "Lofty. Well it's actually Ben but everyone calls him Lofty."

""Husband, he's gay. Is that offensive am I allowed to say gay." Sheila asked.

"Yes, you can say gay. You'd like him a lot. But this whole things been hard on him. He didn't even know he was adopted. It's been hard on both of them, but seeing both my children, together, it's incredible. My dreams coming true." Ange smiled.
