The BAU team was grounded until further notice, any cases that needed them badly enough were sent the next best agents on the field. They were flown back to Virginia but when the landed four unknown agents in a black SUV stepped out and approached. Three men and a woman. The woman speaking.
" Agent Hotcher, Dr. Reid we are going to have to ask you to come with us. We were sent by Dr. Fielding" she said as she gave them a bright smile. She was in jeans and a dress shirt with a fitted vest, her long red hair in a messy bun and sun glasses. Hotch rose a brow.
" And where are we going?" Hotch asked and the blond shaggy haired man beside her with a viking look to him spoke up.
" We have to take you to head quarters for evaluation and debriefing…you understand?" he stated. The two men in the back not paying any attention to them how ever as they were looking around, sentry's. Reid stepped forward.
" Then lets go…I am hungry and tired" he stated as he was rather rude about it. The woman smirking.
" Good cause tonight is enchilada night and Marco's is cooking" she turned and they all walked towards the SUV. Reid glancing back to Hotch in question before following the strange duo. They're go bags tossed in the back as they were let in the far back seats.
The woman was the driver as she took off and it was clear that she was not only an aggressive driver she was used to being in a war zone because she did not stop for anything, not even the red lights. Reid had a death grip on the seat belt once he got it hooked. Hotch however scowled at the reckless nature of it. The blue tooth to someones phone finally connecting Taco's - Puttin on the Ritz played came into sound as the girl dance sang and the guys just seemed to be amused by it. One of the men in the back turned back to them and smirked he looked like he just came off duty from Iraq or Afghanistan if his bread had anything to say about it.
" Don't worry she is the best driver we have. Trust that we are safe in here" he winked at them as he went back to listening the upbeat song. Reid blinking and looking to Hotch again who only shrugged as he was just as confused by the blahzay way that the agents were acting. They drive for about 15 minutes before turning down a long dirt drive that opened up to a pre civil war ear stately home. There were only a couple of cars parked in the gravel stone lot. The house large and white and looked like it come out of the civil war just like Dr. Fielding. Hotch snorted softly at the idea that hit his brain and shook his head. The other agents got out and their doors were opened and the bags handed to them.
" Alright this way…welcome to the Department of Magical Affairs" The girl stated as she held her arms out and smiling.
" Or what some of us call home" she added as she jogged up the stairs and went inside. Hotch and Reid giving each other yet another look but followed. In the entrance hall there was a desk but as it was rather late in the evening it was unoccupied. They followed the girls voice down a hall that opened to a large open spaced bull pen like works space with desk just like in an office. Two sets of stairs leading up to two different halls. No one was working but there was noise up the stairs as a couple of the rooms were office and then it opened up in to a traditional looking home. The Kitchen and dining room held a couple of people. The living area saw two young men playing some sort of video game.
" It is more like a fraternity than a government agency most times. " She stated as Reid looked around.
" Why do you live here?" he asked as she showed them where they would be staying a single room with a double bed which was just like a hotel so it was fine. She chuckled.
" Well there are so few of us…it just works better to live together…we work together here. You work for the FBI and not DAM though so you only get to visit" she stated with a sweet smile before leaving them to settle. Hotch blinking as he watched her leave.
" I have never been to a government organization like this before" he stated and Reid nodded.
" Very Bohemian, I like the no dress code" however Hotch looked at him and his sweater vest.
" You would fit in" Hotch teased and Spencer smirked lightly. It however fell from his lips as he glanced to the older man.
" I….I'm sorry about this Hotch" he said as he looked him in the eyes meaning it but Hotch held up a hand.
" No …Reid…it is better that it is me that this is happening to as well…as your boss it is my job to make sure my team is safe…and you are part of this team. I will learn what I need to do and I will help you" he said as Reid slightly nodded and began unpacking as well.
Reid stepped out of the room as he could smell the enchiladas that were mentioned earlier in the evening as his stomach rumbled and he slowly stepped into the communal area. The two on the couch were still arguing back and forth as they were now playing call of duty. There were two girls sitting on another couch in front of a TV watching the documentary about Jones-town massacre both girls taking notes both looked to only be teenagers. The woman from earlier and a Hispanic male were in the kitchen area talking but stopped when he came close and she smiled to him.
" Dr. Reid…hope your hungry dinner is almost ready." She said and he nodded slightly.
" Yes, thank you…what is your name?" he asked and she chuckled.
" Oh yeah sorry…names Gene Silva grounder" and she stuck out her hand but he looked at it and bit his lip.
" Sorry I do not shake" he stated softly and she rose a brow but shrugged and motioned to the man. " This is Marco he is a wielder."
Pointed to the two girls on the couch.
" They are Jenna and Jamie twins they are our tech lab and Dr. Reg's daughters." She then motioned to the two guys on the console. " The blond is Mick, wielder and the red head is Charles, grounder The viking from earlier is Reynold, he is my wielder and the two others are Mason and Ryan. Grounder and wielder respectively" she said as she grabbed a glass and some ice and showed him all the options for drinks and he picked tea as he could use something to calm him.
" I have never met others like me…only those who practice witchcraft or other religions with ' magic' elements" he stated and the girl snorted.
" Witchcraft is good for basics, many of the old religions are all about the message and not the power. Do you practice any of those?" she asked and He slightly nodded.
" I uses protection and circle magics from witch craft to help ground and protect my team…every time I have forgotten to do it bad things happen" he said softly. She looked rather impressed by the admission most would not admit to practicing things like that.
" Impressive…you will have to show me one day " she stated and Marco rose a brow.
" Since when do you even practice balance Gene?" he asked and she narrowed her eyes at her friend.
" And no one asked you" she said as he chuckled. She could see the look Reid was giving them as she rose a brow.
" Most of us grew up here…recruited from foster homes by Dr. Fielding…agents in the field were discovered there usually…just like you two" she said softly to him. "I think the united states has maybe forty five confirmed wielders three quarters works for the government the other quarter are locked away in Leavenworth South" she stated as she worked with Marco to make plates and handed him his. " Marco here is one of the few convicts that saw the error of his ways and joined the team a few years ago" she smiled to him.
" His ground Ally is somewhere around here" she said waving a hand absently. Marco chuckled.
" Keep it up and she will get you" Marco warned and Gene stuck out a tongue. Reid still confused just sat at the table with his food and quietly began eating. It was not long until Hotch came out and he was greeted as well taking a seat next to him with his own plate of food. He was looking at his cell phone as a message from Jess came through and it was a video of Jack saying goodnight. He softly smiled at that before showing Reid who smiled softly.
" He is doing very well in therapy" he said softly and Spencer nodded.
" Dr. Morse is great with children…other wise I would not have recommended her " Spencer stated gently.
" So you two are a couple?" Gene asked as she looked at them curiously. Spencer sputtered lightly and Hotch frowned.
" Spencer is a friend and team member…no" he stated firmly but Gene rose a brow.
" Hmm…well…I hope your ready for that the change" she stated as Hotch rose a brow.
Gene however went back to helping Marco who had started scolding her in Spanish.
After dinner was when the commanding presence of Reginald Fielding entered the building. Spencer walked out of his and Hotch's room as all those who were wielders stepped out of their own rooms as they seemed to be attracted to the older man. Hotch watched from the door way as Spencer had been talking and then just went silent and walked out of the door.
" We have anew Wielder with us…the son of a former wielder I want the rest of you to teach him all you know, he is family now" he stated firmly as the others chuckled. This place was very unprofessional and strange but he found he liked it as well. Hotch's eye met Fielding's as he stepped out and the older man walked forward a hand outreached to his own.
"Agent Hotchner, a pleasure to meet you in a more…relaxing environment…this all must be so new to you" he stated as Hotch nodded.
" It seems very unprofessional more like a club that an organization" he stated but Fielding laughed and motioned for him to join him as he walked down to the offices. He showed him the rooms used for doing the same thing that the BAU and white collar crimes did. They worked to find missing children, it was an organization that worked to only solve magic related crimes and find wielders who did crimes. It was a very overwhelming feeling that Hotch suddenly got.
" Having a Wielder and grounder in the FBI will help relieve some of our work load, at least in theory." He stated as he looked to the other was however looking at a white board as his eyes narrowed.
" This is the Louisiana case…" yes…we had been tracking that man for a while now…never could manage to find him until your doctor led us to him.
