~Rewind~
"If we keep going like this..." Kai muttered with his eyes closed. "It'll just drag on. So, how about a final attack?" When he opened his eyes, both Eugeo and Kazuto took notice of the trepidation held within them.
"Not a bad idea." they looked at each other with a glare.
"Ready. Set. Go!"
As the three sped up and met in the center of the ring staring unflinchingly at each other, they felt the retrospective of space leave them behind. Within those gazes was the key to their determination. The three teens tried to keep their emotions at bay but failed as they each bore witness to their drive. A tragic end tied down to self-hatred, hallowed victories that held no meaning without any family to share it with, and the warmth of a home weaved by all the loved ones within it.
"Haa!" the three teens shouted as they slammed their shinais at the same time.
"Point!" the referee shouted as the crowd held their breaths.

(Commentary Booth)
"IT'S A TIE!?" everyone shouted in shock as the crowd looked on dumbfoundedly.
"T-there you have it folks?" Hizashi grinned weakly as the crowd started to protest.
"Look, the finals are done. Win or lose, let's all agree that it was a great match and end it at that." Shouta stated with finality as the crowd grumbled.
"It was a great match. You guys can agree that much can't you?" Emi pouted. Suddenly, the guys forgot why they were protesting in the first place as Shouta frowned.
"Ya heard it here folks! I'm Hizashi, this is Shouta, and she's Emi, have a good day!" Hizashi shouted cheerfully as he all but bolted from the commentary booth and into the outside.
(Arena)
"Damn, that hurt." Eugeo whined while he held his shoulder with a slight grimace.
"Yeah, not my smartest idea." a voice drawled out blandly as the person looked at the ceiling with glazed eyes.
"We noticed." the two teens beside him muttered as all three of them laid sprawled on the ground.
"Give me a break, I didn't think you idiots would follow my idea!" he whined.
Kazuto only grunted in response.
"If you can joke, you can help us stand up now." he muttered as he tried to put on a strong front as he saw his family and friends hurry to their aid. 'That attack...so you're him, huh?'
"Whatever." Kai looked to the side in embarrassment as he hid his smirk. 'To think you're the one that the skull head was hinting...this group might be fun after all, Kuro.'
"Hn. Are you hurt princess?" Kazuto smirked as Eugeo started cursing at them lowly.
"No, he's just fragile." Kai added his own two cents as the three felt their eyes close without their notice.
(A few hours later)
Kazuto walked up to Asuna with a small smile as he gave her his prize. "Here, you can have it."
"B-but you won it! It's yours!" she denied with a blush.
"Nah. Believe it or not, as heir to the Kirigaya, I have a lot of money to spend. So, you should have it as a token of our friendship." he shook his head with that ever-present grin as Shino glared at their 'cute interactions'. The nerve!
"T-thanks, Kazuto." she blushed brightly as she worked up the nerve and kissed him on the cheek in front of everyone. 'For everything. I'm truly grateful.'
With that, Asuna walked off before Shino tore into her with that vicious scowl. Damn her! They'd probably end up in a triangular lovefest!
"Well now..." Kai smirked as he held onto the wall for support. "This is an interesting development."
"Yep." Eugeo teased with a grin as Alice chuckled beside him. Kazuto's cheeks only took on a light dusting of red in return.
"Not as much as yours and Alice though!" he shot back as the blond and brunette sputtered randomly.
"Don't you remember our promise?" Shino said with soft eyes as Suguha chuckled.
"Of course I do." Yuuki exclaimed softly with small crocodile tears as Alice turned red at their mockery.
"I did not sound like that!" she shouted in indignation as the boys just looked on with a grin. Except for Eugeo of course.
"I guess I'll catch you guys later then." said Kai with a wave as he started walking away.
"Wait for me!" Yuuki shouted cheerfully as Kai started walking at a faster pace.
"I guess we should head out too then?" Eugeo questioned with a tilt of the head as the rest just shrugged in return.
Yellow slitted eyes were left ignored as the shadowy figure walked out with shocked awe.
"So you're Kuro huh? You're quite cute...Kazuto Kirigaya. Hehehe!"
(With Kai and Yuuki)
"You didn't have to follow me you know?" Kai exclaimed as he looked up at the sky.
"I know." she giggled as her red eyes danced with mirth.
"For such an event, you'd think there would be an award ceremony or something." the bluenette smirked as the purple-haired teen giggled once more.
"I know right?" she grinned. "The way you fight is interesting though."
"Oh? How so?"
"You strikes slowed down at the end." she squinted her eyes in scrutiny. "As if you were gauging someone's attacks."
"Well empress..." he grinned cheekily as she puffed her cheeks in mock anger. "I wanted to see how the little snake charmer would attack."
'Besides, Kirigaya had been holding back from any killing blows.' he thought with a small frown as he looked to the side of the road and into a limo a few blocks away. 'It seems he's part of that branch of the hero corp.'
Yuuki only hummed cheerfully as she waved to her family on the other side of the road.
"I guess this is where we part ways." she grinned slightly as his golden yellow eyes looked at her own ruby red.
"I guess so." he grinned lowly "I'll see you around princess," Kai smirked with a wave as he saw her blush.
"D-don't call me that!" she shouted as the crowd looked at her questioningly.
"So Yuuki...is that your boyfriend?" her mother had a glint in her eyes that promised untold blabbering as her sister giggled at her misfortune.
"N-no!" she denied with her blush growing ten-fold.
"Master Zeoticus would like to see you." the butler stated with his air of arrogance as Kai looked at him blandly.
"Then take me there, please." he glared slightly as he heard him scoff. When Kai got into the limo, he looked at the window and reminisced about the past.
~Flashback~
Blue hair swayed in the wind as a small child sat on top of a rock. His dull yellow eyes looked at the crying sky with a frown.
"Is he that kid?" a woman muttered to her husband as they looked at him with pity one would give a caged animal.
"It seems so." he whispered as he gave his wife a warning look as the child's yellow eyes looked at him with a light glare.
"I just don't get it! How can he be the next in line!?" she whispered with a frown. "He's not even a Ryuuji! My son has more noble blood in him than that child would ever hope to achieve!"
"That's enough Shuri! Let's go." her husband reprimanded her as glanced at the child's deadly glare that promised death.
"It's always the same thing." the bluenette snarled with a frown as he heard the rustling of leaves beside him.
"It's human dictation. They hold truth, yet they still sting. One cannot cover the truth, no matter how hard they'll try to deny it." a frail old man sat beside him with a small sigh.
"That's just it! Am I supposed to be a scapegoat or something!? Not only do I not know who my parents are, but I'm always criticized for just being myself! Is it my blue hair!? My yellow eyes!? What dammit!" he shouted with small puffs to try and keep his temper in check.
Before he continued his rant, he felt a hand on his head as he looked at the smiling face of the only person he could truly trust.
"It is within human nature to stray from what is perceived as different, young master. You forget that the nature of humanity is evil, and any good in them would be artificial if given the chance. Once a person is given the choice on whether to choose one of the two evils, no one would choose a greater evil when there's a chance to choose a lesser one." he grinned slightly as the child looked at him with puffed cheeks.
"Even so, what right do they have to choose which one they would prefer? Why can't we all be equal?" Kai muttered with a frown as he looked at the water ripples caused by the coy fishes in the pond.
"Life can indeed be unfair. We are all great at diverging our own mistakes to accommodate falsehood and yet, even greater judges for the mistakes of others. Even if you haven't caused anything to upset the main household, the fact that they think you're inferior to them by blood alone is what sparks their hatred. Given time, they would one day warm up to you." the man smiled as the child looked at him in awe.
"Could they really?" the child asked doubtfully as the man chuckled.
"It may not seem like it now due to your prodigious label, but children just follow the orders of the parents. Could you fault them for their behavior even if it was founded for them in the beginning?"
"I guess not. But, does it really have to hurt this much?" Kai looked away with watery eyes as he placed his arms around his knees with a sigh. "Even the smaller children tend to walk away from me without a second glance. I feel so lonely, and yet there's no one I could blame without giving the clan head stress over my predicament."
"So it seems." the man muttered as he saw the sunset drop down and give way for the stars in the night sky. "Even so, I would like to ask but one request from you."
"What is it?" golden yellow eyes locked onto old, brown eyes as he laid down on the rock to look at the sky.
"Never start doubting where you belong. Without a foundation, there is no home. Without a home, there is no happiness to hold on to. You'll be able to find your home someday, young master. Never doubt that." his grin made the ever distant Kai Asmotheos tear up with a slight daze.
"You make it seem like it'll be the last time I'll get to see you." he muttered as he was embraced by the man.
"There is no certainty that it could be, just take to light these words of mine, Kai, for they hold the key to a better life. Understand that forgiveness doesn't exonerate the perpetrator. Forgiveness only liberates the victim. It's..."
~Flashback End~
"...a gift you give yourself." Kai muttered as he looked at the droplets of rain.
"We're here." the butler stated stiffly as the bluenette walked into the estate without a word.
(Estate)
The house itself was a work of art. Structuring of high-level houses, a dragon statue depicting the great Tiamat, and an old Japanese household taller than all others. It all but gave way to a picturesque house built for an emperor.
As they reached the front door, Kai's companion managed to give him a glare before seeing the silhouette of a man sitting by a fire.
"He is here, my lord." the butler bowed as he walked himself out of the door.
"Lord Ryuuji." Kai bowed stiffly at the man kneeling on the mat with candles burning at his sides.
"How many times have I told you not to call me that now, Kai. I'm simply Zeoticus when in your presence." the man smiled disarmingly. It would have worked for a lesser man, but the bluenette saw right through his mask.
"Why have you called me here, my lord?" he asked in his still bowing position, missing the man's eyes get filled with regret.
"How did your match end?" Zeoticus asked with a sigh of defeat.
"As they had always ended, a victory nothing worth mentioning, my lord."
"I see." the man's eyebrows furrowed.
"If I may be so bold, why had you called me here?" Kai questioned emotionlessly.
"Cutting to the chase aren't we?" the man joked to himself as he saw Kai looking straight into his eyes with no emotion. "Tell me Kai, what had happened to the child my cousin had been so fond of?"
"He died along with the man who threw himself as the sword and shield he was told to be." Kai sneered with a glare.
"He had died in the noblest of heroics." Zeoticus frowned angrily at his remark.
"Is that what they're calling suicide now?" the bluenette mocked.
"Suicide!? He saved my life child!" Zeoticus stood up furiously. "You had better mind your tongue!"
"He told me about the coup d'état, Lord Zeoticus." he hissed with so much venom that the man stumbled back. "No need to hide behind your facade any longer! We both know the truth! Your cousin would've been best suited for the role of clan head, not you!"
"How dare you! After I had protected you, fed you, clothed you...this is how you repay me!? I shoul-"
His rant was stopped by the image of a blue dragon spreading its scaly wings. The laughter of the bluenette only managed to make the atmosphere more dreadful.
"You should really stop pretending to be the hero you try so hard to seem. War, power, and the label of hero was all it took for you to finally step in. Not the spilling of family blood, but the rolling of gold at your feet." the more he talked, the closer Kai got to the man who started cowering from him.
"Y-you monster! Stay back! You wouldn't dare hurt me! I'm your lord!" he rasped out in fear as the teen looked at him with a smirk.
"At the end of the day, you're just a pathetic man. One not worth mentioning!" with that, Kai started walking away with his hands in his pockets. He only stopped to look back at the shivering man with one last glare. " Ah, I forgot. You've called me a monster have you not? Your perception must be diluted. Tell me, does a monster create a war? Or does war make the monster? Seeing you, the answer is pretty obvious."
"W-where are you going!? Kai! Kai!" the man shouted pleadingly as the teen kept on walking forward, essentially ripping the Ryuuji crest from his shirt.
With that, Kai Asmotheos effectively walked away from the clan itself.
'No need of that from where I'm going.' he mused to himself as he looked at the crest one last time. 'I was offered a position as a hero for the exact reason. I don't want anyone to suffer like I did.'
It was the day after, that a random passerby found the Ryuuji crest lying beside the trashcan with a quizzical look.
(Hero Society: Entrance)
Men and women alike stood in the ceremonial area with whispers thrown around on what could be going on. Assassins lined up the towers with their ever-present masks. All at once, many known heroes entered the stage with a straight face, betraying no emotion.
"Woah, is that Pop Step!?"
"No way! We get to see the lieutenant Vlad King!?"
"It's the Mistress of Interrogation, Midnight!"
"The hero of the year! Stendhal!
"The heroine of the year, Ms. Joke!"
"I-it's the commander of the Hero Branch! Present Mic!"
"Even the captain and commander of the Underground Branch are here!"
"You're right! Captain Eraserhead is looking as scary as ever!" the person who said that received a glare for their troubles that would melt ice.
"That's a lot of people." Ares mused as he stood in front of the microphone. "Is this on?" At their nods, he smirked behind his mask. "Good."
He snapped his finger in a flourish and a masked teen with black hair stood at attention kneeling at the floor.
"I-it's Kuro!"
"T-that shrimp is supposed to be the Underground's prodigious assassin!?" a man asked with disbelief as he too received a death glare by the 'shrimp'.
'Wow! He was trained by Eraserhead alright.' the rest of the heroes thought with a sweatdrop. Ares gave Present Mic a nod as the blond gave the hidden figure a thumbs up.
The people turned to look at a figure with a black robe with white fur trimming over a blue turtleneck shirt along with two decorative necklaces. Although the design seemed simplistic, they paid more attention to his white mask that had red facial markings.
"I-it's Shin!"
"No way!"
"Will there be more surprises!?"
"Hm." Ares coughed to get their attention. "As you had taken notice, these two soldiers are of distinctive branches of the Hero Corp. We of the Underground and the Hero Society had taken an agreement to join forces by starting with these two to try and increase our forces in trying to capture both the League of Villains and the Shie Hassaikai. These two will be the building blocks for us to see if it is possible to cooperate with one another. Without any further ado, I now give you the first double agents of the Hero Corp., Kuroibara and Shin!"
The aforementioned teens stood beside each other with their right arm behind their back and their left hand on their heart in a salute as the crowd cheered.
"With that, we can come to a close." Ares smirked as he saw the crowd start to disperse. "That wasn't so hard, was it kiddos?"
"No." the two stated blandly.
"Ah! Finishing each other's sentences already!? This shows promising growth!" Present Mic shouted cheerfully.
"Hn." was the two teen's reply as the man huffed.
"As a formality, we'd want you to take off your masks." Eraserhead said in a deadpan as the two teens looked at him steadily until Shin started laughing lightly along with Kuro.
"I thought you'd say something dumb like having our own headquarters." Shin joked with a smirk. Kuro stopped laughing when he noticed Eraserhead smiling along with Ares. If it wasn't bad enough, Present Mic had this weird glint that was mirrored by Ms. Joke.
"We are~" Ms. Joke and Present Mic sang cheerfully.
"You're kidding right?" the two shared a glance in defeat.
"Nope," Ares smirked cheekily.
"We knew it." the two sighed.
"But it won't be that hard, will it...Kirigaya?" Shin smirked as Kuro went to take off his mask.
"As long as you don't mind being around some nutcases...Kai Asmotheos." Kazuto grinned toothily as Kai's blue hair came to view.
"So you guys already knew who you were?" Ms. Joke tilted her head in confusion.
"Not until today. He was holding back his speed/strength." both teens shrugged carelessly.
"Which reminds me, the hell type of quirk do you have?" Kai looked at Kazuto with a calculating gaze.
"Quirk?" the ravenette tilted his head in confusion.
"You almost tied with my speed without using your quirk!?" the bluenette looked gobsmacked.
"I have a quirk?"
"You didn't know!?" the rest of the heroes looked on with a raised brow as Eraserhead stepped forward and away from them.
"I think I have an idea." he stated blandly.
'Does he even have another tone of voice?' the spectators thought with a sigh.
"Now. Kazuto, I want you to focus your killing intent on me without any restraints." he then took out a dagger and tossed it to the confused teen. "Try to go for a disarming cut."
"A-lrigth." Kazuto nodded hesitantly. As he bent his knees, he then closed his eyes with a soft sigh. When he opened them, the spectators were marveling at the slight spectacle of crows moving about with their eyes as dark as the night itself. They were so enamored by it that when they saw the illusion break down, they let disappointed sighs.
Turning to Kazuto, they saw him restrained by Eraserhead's scarf with his red eyes blazing. What caught them off-guard, however, was the enhanced dagger that had slights trimmings of black from the point of contact.
"Your quirk is a combination of illusions and enhancement," Eraserhead smirked at the dazed ravenette.
"Illusions?" the rest asked in confusion as their eyes were still focussed on the dagger.
"Um, buddy?" Mic smiled with a sweatdrop. "That is no illusion." he pointed at the dagger with his shaky finger as Kai nodded with a calculating gaze and a smirk.
'Interesting...' he thought as he looked at the restrained ravenette.
"It is an illusion, it's just enhanced to the point that it takes a real form." Eraserhead stated with a light glare at being interrupted. "It is only limited to weaponry like a certain someone we knew."
"Yuki..." Ares muttered lowly with a nod as Midnight, Ms. Joke, and Mic looked solemn at their deceased friend's quirk at use.
"Hm? And here I thought I was the only one with an awesome quirk." Kai smirked as he held out his hand. A ball of blue fire mixed with lightning danced at the palm of his hand. "I call it Blue Haze." he smirked proudly as Kazuto tried not to cringe.
'The name...' he thought with a sigh as he looked away.
As if sensing his thought, Kai sent the trapped Kirigaya a glare. "Don't look away! I bet you won't be as creative since yours is a mutation!"
"Actually, I'll just call it Izanagi." the ravenette shrugs carelessly as Kai looks away with a scoff.
'Damn it! It actually sounds kinda cool. And he didn't even try!' the bluenette thought with a twitching brow.
"He who invites, huh?" Mic stated with a nod of approval.
"Meh, It sounds good to me." Midnight nods with a smirk.
"Pfft. It sounds better than Blue Haze." Ares snickered as he ignored the fuming Kai.
"No. I think Blue Haze sounds cool." said Kazuto innocently.
"Don't patronize me Kirigaya!" Kai shouted with a blush of embarrassment.
"But I'm not! Honest!"
"That's a lie and you know it!"
"No!"
"Yeah!"
"N-"
"That's enough of that." Eraserhead exclaimed with a twitching brow as Kazuto was entangled in his scarf once more.
"Why is it always me!?" the ravenette shrieked indignantly as Kai snickered.
"Anyway, now that we know of your quirk, I'll make sure to contact Nezu of the new recruits and their quirks." Ares rubbed his hands maniacally with a cackle along with Mic as Eraserhead groaned tiredly.
Kai was almost too afraid to ask, but he did so anyway.
"Why?" he and Kazuto asked at the same time as the raven-haired teen fell down with an "oof".
"Because..." Mic started off with a dramatic build-up.
"You'll be going to school!" Ares smirked menacingly as both ravenette and bluenette gulped audibly.
"Don't remind me." Eraserhead grunted with a glare as Midnight and Ms. Joke giggled.
"But you like kids~" the two heroines smiled teasingly as he only groaned tiredly.
"S-school!?" the two teens shouted in a panic.
"Yup." Ares smirked. "So, buckle up children! From now on, you'll train with Eraserhead and Present Mic in fully controlling your quirks until the start of the school year. That's if you survive the first obstacle..." he finished off gravely as Mic nodded solemnly.
Kazuto and Kai are two of the most respected agents in their branch of hero work, but looking at Eraserhead's smirk, they couldn't help but whimper.
"You should both receive a letter in your mailbox telling you of our private school. Just make sure to pack your bags when the time comes, okay?" Ms. Joke smiled at the whimpering teens. That is exactly where they learned to hold her at a high pedestal as her smile looked angelic.
"Oh thank god!" the two sobbed as they held onto her for dear life.
"Oh and Kai..." Ares exclaimed with a smirk. "I've been told of your condition. As of this moment, you'll get to live with your friend here for the time being until you both transition to the school."
"You don't mean..." the bluenette muttered with dread.
"Yeah." Ares nodded with a chesire grin.
"Well look at that, we'll be roommates." Kazuto grinned half-heartedly as he threw his arm over Kai's shoulder.
"NNNNOOOOOOOO!"
(Kirigaya Household)
"Just remember to play it cool." the ravenette grinned as his friend took a look at his home.
"Not bad." he whistled at the antique look the house held. 'All regal and whatnot.'
"Hey! We're home!" Kazuto shouted with a grin.
"Welcome back." Midori smiled at her son as she took a look at the bluenette. "And who's this?"
"He's just Kai." he grinned cheekily as the teen scoffed.
"I'm Kai Asmotheos." he bowed lowly. "It's a pleasure to meet you Ms. Kirigaya."
"So well mannered." she smiled teasingly as the bluenette blushed slightly. "Why can't you be like him, Kazuto?" she put her hand on her side in a faux scolding manner.
"Wha? I'm well behaved!" Kazuto defended with a look of shock.
"Right..." the bluenette rolled his eyes as he glanced at an incoming black missile.
"Big brother! You're back!" said black missile shouted as Kazuto fell down with an "oof". "It took you long enough!" she huffed. She then looked into mischievous golden yellow eyes and bolted upright with a shaky finger. "Y-you're Kai Asmotheos! You're so cool!" she gushed with starry eyes.
"How come you don't say that to me?" Kazuto muttered with a raincloud over his head.
"It's because you're not so coo- ow!" a voice shouted from upstairs.
"He just cam back and you're making fun of him." another voice muttered.
"Alice! Shino hit me!"
"That's what you get." a mess of blond hair caught the two boy's attention as they saw her high-fiving Shino as Eugeo laid sprawled on the ground.
"Is it always like this?" Kai asked with a tilt of his head.
"You get used to it." everyone answered back as the bluenette sigh with a small grin.
"Come and have a seat." Midori smiled as everyone helped set the table.
"Hey mom, where's dad?" Kazuto asked as the ever reserved man wasn't around.
"He's at work today."
"Oh." the ravenette squirmed as he couldn't think of how to break the news to his mother. He couldn't outright tell her that Kai was going to be living with the without any further context, could he?
"Is something wrong?" she asked with worry.
'Here goes nothing...'
"Yeah, um, it has something to do with Kai here." he pointed at the bluenette having a food eating contest with Eugeo. "He needs a place to stay in."
"Oh no, what happened?" she asked exclaimed with a small frown.
"I left my clan because they are bigoted idiots" Kai stated matter of factly between a mouthful of meat. "Man this meat is good!"
Everyone else just choke on their food at his declaration.
'So direct!' Kazuto and Alice thought in shock.
"P-pardon?" Midori stuttered out.
"Oh yeah. Had a talk with the clan head and all." he shrugged carelessly. "I'm basically homeless."
"That's terrible!" Suguha shouted in worry. How could one of her favorite competitors of all time end up homeless in a single day!?
"That must have been horrible." Midori stated solemnly as the girls nodded.
'I doubt it.' both Eugeo and Kazuto hung their heads with a sigh.
"As I met Kiri-I mean Kazuto here, he told me that he would help me out since you have spare rooms and all." the bluenette corrected himself as Midori looked deep in thought.
"Yes, I see why not." Midori smiled sweetly as Kai let a grin grace his lips. Suguha looked about ready to burst.
"Awesome!" she shouted with a grin. 'I get to tell my friends at school that I live with two renowned Kendo geniuses! Take that Illya! You got nothing on me!' she giggled evilly as her sister figures looked at her uncomfortably.
"Now that the matter is settled," Midori started out with a grin that Kazuto didn't quite like. "I have a letter for you Kazuto. I'm sorry if I read it before you, but it just seemed so interesting."
'Welp, time to try and put my acting skills to the test.' Kazuto groaned as he looked at the letter.
Dear Kazuto Kirigaya,
It has come to light your desire for computer science and mechanical engineering. We would like for you to attend our school on the high ordered promise of a scholarship to our private school in Musutafu. Within the Shizuoka Prefecture in Japan. We hope to welcome you to our private programming that has the latest high tech you would need in order to make all your dreams come true. Hopefully, you accept and help our school become the best it can be.
Best regards for a heroic good job,
Principal Nezu
"I'm what now?" Kazuto asked slowly as his friends and sister laughed or giggled at his misfortune. It seemed that the Kirigaya heir received the short end of the stick.
"You're going to school Kazuto." Midori smiled brightly.
"B-but I'm smarter than an average teen!" he exclaimed hysterically. "Why would I have to go to school just to end up as smart as Eugeo!?"
"Hey! That hurt man!" Eugeo shouted in indignation.
"For the record, I also got accepted to the private institution." Kai looked miffed as Kazuto only looked at him with a deadpan stare.
"And on top of that, you're making me go with him!" he shouted with puffy eyes.
"Hey!" the bluenette shouted in outrage as Eugeo patted his back in what he thought to be a reassuring manner.
Alice bopped her friend in the head after his remark.
"That's not very nice." Suguha scolded him slightly with a grin.
"I think you should go Kazuto," Shino muttered with a sad smile. "It's not every day you get the opportunity to go to a high end private high school."
"Not only that but with a scholarship no less!" Alice nodded in approval.
"You should really go for it, buddy." Eugeo smiled slightly as Kazuto started feeling guilty.
'It sucks that I can't tell them the truth...'
Kai noticed the ravenette's souring mood and decided to intervene before he spilled the beans.
'Besides,' he thought with a smirk. 'I heard that espionage had never been his forte.'
Everyone turned to look at him as he stood up with a slight grimace.
"That was some great food Ms. Kirigaya! I think Kazuto should head to bed since he seems to have a lot on his mind." he smiled charmingly as Midori nodded in understanding.
"You're right. I really hope you decide to go." she smiled softly as Kazuto grinned weakly and walked off with a "Thank you."
"Eugeo, Shino, and I have to leave in a few minutes, ma'am. We can at least help clean up." Alice offered as Midori looked grateful.
"I'll help too." Kai offered but was denied as Midori told him to ask Kazuto for a room to sleep in. "Thank you." he bowed and went to look for the ravenette. He walked up the stairs and next to a corner where the raven-haired teen leaned on with a sigh.
"I'm only good at tracking and reconnaissance." he laughed slightly as he scratched his cheek in embarrassment.
"I noticed." the bluenette smirked as the two walked off into the room next to Kazuto's.
"By the way, how did you join the Hero Corp.?" Kazuto smiled slightly as he knew what the bluenette would ask him in return.
"How did you join the Underground?" he shot back with a smirk.
'Called it.' the ravenette cheered. "Touché." he smirked as both of them went to their respective rooms.
That night, Kazuto waved goodbye to his friends and went to sleep with a single thought in mind.
'UA High School huh? Interesting indeed.'
And with that, Kai and I got ready to start off our first year in the fearful clutches of school. Oh, the dread! I just hope the people are nice... Or that I get a hang of my quirk in these three months. Although, Kai was right in one regard. The name of my quirk totally sounds better than his! And it was so hard to come up with it too!
