~Flashback~
[Disclaimer: I don't own MHA or Sword Art Online]
It was a relaxing and uneventful day with the sun shining brightly in the Kirigaya household. The Kirigaya's mother, Midori, was out with her friends to celebrate a baby shower of one of their co-workers while Minetaka went to watch a sporting event with his fellow men.
"So...are you a superhero too?" One Suguha Kirigaya decided to start the morning off with a question as both boys did a spit take.
"W-what?" Kai asked with a small cough. "Superhero?"
"I know my brother's one." the Kirigaya in question scratched his neck with a small grin as Kai shot him a glare. "It's only logical that you're one too!" she smiled brightly.
"Does your captain know about this?" Kai sighed tiredly as he looked at Kazuto.
"Yeah. He told me that as long as she keeps quiet, she could know. Even though she looks all bright and mushy, the girl knows how to keep a secret." Kazuto stared at the grinning Suguha.
"And you would know how?" Kai raised a brow as the ravenette looked depressed.
"I just found out my fish died" he mumbled as Kai looked at him with a glare.
"What does this have to do with anything?"
"I've been having him for three years..."
"..."
"..."
Suguha only looked sheepish while Kai looked impressed.
"Fine. I'm also a superhero. The name's Shin." Kai smirked as the girl looked awed.
"Shin..." she mumbled in a daze. "...you're the Blue Lightning!?"
"Blue Lightning?" Kzuto tilted his head in confusion as his aura of depression faded away. 'Lame!'
"Yeah! People say that the hero, Shin, is always seen surrounded by blue particles of light!" Suguha nodded vigorously as Kai coughed into his hand to catch their attention.
"Did you know your brother also has a nickname," Kai smirked viciously as the ravenette shook his head vigorously in denial.
"Really?" Suguha asked with a sparkle in her eyes. "What is it!?"
"The Legendary Pipsqueak." Kai smirked as the girl face faulted.
"Really?" she sweatdropped. "So lame."
"What!? That's no it!" the ravenette sputtered with a glare as Kai snickered.
"Whatever..." Kai crossed his arm with a huff. "...Monkey King."
"Monkey King?" Suguha muttered slowly as she looked at her brother. "How'd you get that nickname?"
"My mask resembles a monkey with its tribal markings." Kazuto grinned as Suguha nodded in understanding.
"By the way, does she know about it?" Kai asked as he glanced at his arm that gave a light spark.
"Not yet." Kazuto shook his head with a sigh. Suguha only looked at them in confusion. They then heard a knock at their door. As Suguha went to open the door, both Kazuto and Kai paled considerably.
There standing at the door were Shouta and Hizashi. Only one of the two teens was brave enough to wave weakly as they noticed Shouta's grin.
"You brats ready to go?" Hizashi grinned as Suguha started bouncing around in anticipation.
"Can I come!?" she all but screamed at them as Shouta glanced at Kazuto. Seeing him smile slightly, the man only sighed and nodded. "Cool! Where are we going!?"
(Shouta's Training Grounds)
"This house looks awesome." the girl muttered as she looked around the house.
"At least one of you appreciates it..." Shouta grunted as he shot the whistling Kazuto a glare.
"Still think the house seems creepy knowing that you're single..." the ravenette mumbled as Hizashi and Kai snickered slightly.
"Not for long~" Hizashi sang with an impish grin.
"Ms. Joke sure talked a lot about you during the meetings" Kai smirked teasingly.
"Keep it up. I'll only train you twice as hard." Shouta exclaimed menacingly. Although Hizashi wasn't the one being threatened, he also shut his mouth just as fast as the teens in question.
"That's what I thought." the man smirked triumphantly.
"So..." Suguha started out with a smile. "What are you guys doing?"
"We're practicing the usage of quirks" Kai smirked as the girl looked lost.
As she was about to ask her question, Kazuto beat her to the punch with a grin. "No sis, just because you're quirky, it doesn't mean it's about you."
He received a punch to his shoulder for the trouble.
"Quirks as in superpowers" Hizashi explained with a thumbs up.
The bob cut girl only stared at him with a raised brow in boredom. "Superpowers, really?"
"It's better if you show her Kai." Kazuto sighed tiredly.
"Sure." the bluenette smirked as his hand started to glimmer in a mix of blue and white.
"I-is that fire!?" Suguha asked in shocking disbelief.
"Ah! He's on fire! Call 911!" Hizashi started running around in a panic.
"Hizashi." Shouta sighed tiredly.
"We'll get in trouble! I couldn't protect him!" he cried anime tears as he continued to run around.
"Oi, Mic!" Kazuto shouted to get the man's attention. He didn't.
"Nezu will get mad at me and I'll lose my job! I'll be homeless!"
"Mic!" Kai shouted with a tick mark as the man in question stopped dead in his tracks. "That's how my quirk works!" 'Dumbass!'
"Oh, I forgot." the man grinned weakly as Suguha made a good impersonation of Kazuto's fish.
"Sugu? You there?" the raven-haired teen waved his hand in front of his sister's face.
"C-can you do the same thing?" she asked in a stutter.
"Nah." the teen scratched the back of his neck with an eye smile. Seeing her about so sigh in relief, he decided to drop the bomb. "Only generate illusionary weaponry. Well, according to Shouta that is."
"Illusions..." the poor girl mutters slowly. "Huh. Next thing you know, we'll find out our parents are superheroes too." joked as she and the two teens smirked as they tried to imagine Minetaka in a hero suit, missing Shouta's and Hizashi's small winces.
"Anyway," Shouta exclaimed with a frown. "We'll start working on your control. Sadly, we don't have many illusionary quirk users from where we're from to help you control its use. With that said, I still want you to start reading books on forging weapons to get the general idea for your illusions as I keep helping you in your hand to hand combat tactics, Kazuto." the teen nodded seriously as he tried to think of ways to make his quirk function. "As for you, Kai, Hizashi wants you to continue to work on shape manipulation and electrical composition."
"Hai." the bluenette saluted as he walked off.
"Alright then, let's get started!" Hizashi chirped.
(A few moments later)
"You know, when I heard the guy talk about training, I thought I would see explosions, kunai throwing, and the quirk things being shot around like the jutsus in the show." Suguha muttered with a pout as her brother kept his attention on the book he had at hand.
"Uhuh" Kazuto muttered as he kept on reading.
Honjo Masamune.
A symbol of the Tokugawa shogunate during almost all of the Edo period. After the Honjo Masamune was acquired by Tokugawa Ieyasu, the sword was passed down from shogun to shogun. This masterpiece, created by the Priest Gorō Masamune, had the central focus of strength, hardness, and the complimentary durability of a long sword. The edge of the sword appeared like lightning surrounded by fog like a tranquil winter's day. This imagery analyzes the balance Masamune himself tried to capture within this sword: fierce power mixed in with a calm, and collected coolness that gives it a shine like none other.
Byakuya (Midnight Sun)
Rivaling the cutting prowess of the Masamune, the black laced chokuto has said to been used during the era of the first emperors. As dark as the pitch-black abyss itself, the sword had been rumored to precedent powers like none other. Its sharp edges gave light to the...
"It's time for your combat session, kid." Shouta stated blandly as Kazuto closed the book with a sigh escaping his lips.
'It was getting good too.' he trudged on with slumped arms.
"Great!" Suguha cheered as her once bored face plastered on a grin.
(Nighttime)
"We will keep the party going until we all drop dead!" an overdressed wealthy man came to view as his green eyes glinted with mischief and madness as the tied-up men and women looked at each other with horror.
"Hell yeah we will!" one of his lackeys shouted with a sleazy grin while chugging his beer as if it was the last thing on earth.
"What 'bout you dolly." another man smirked as he cupped a random woman's cheek. Seeing the woman in question flinch away only made his smirk grow wider.
'If you don't give the single right now Kirigaya, I will do this shit myself!' a certain blue-haired, yellow-eyed teen scowled with a glare that made a lackey flinch and step back in fear.
"I know you hate the men here young lad, but now is not the time to kill 'em" the overdressed man smirked as he thought the teen's glare was that of impatience.
"Tch. These are nothing but worms at the bottom of my feet sir. Of course they would piss me off." Kai put on a smirk as one of the hostages looked at him pleadingly. 'I hate being undercover sometimes...'
~Flashback~
After walking Suguha back home with the promise of watching the re-run of her favorite show, Kazuto got the key beside his secret drawer in order to get on his motorcycle. As he sped up in the streets into the meeting point that had been written in the slip of paper, his mind ran a mile a minute. This mission had made both Shouta and Hizashi grimace. He had only seen that face once, and it mainly had to do with the League of Villain's solo escapades. Well, mostly the lesser henchmen that one would use as cannon fodder.
"Took you long enough" Kai muttered as his tuff of blue hair is hidden behind his white mask that had red markings on his cheeks.
"Whatever" Kazuto muttered as he quickly put on his mask.
"In the debriefing given to me by Present Mic, it mainly talks about a sub-ring leader that started trouble in order to spread the League of Villain name and strike fear into the heart of the people. Easily enough, this man is the only person dumb enough to come all the way here with no backing of the League. Our mission is as follows: I have to infiltrate a party being thrown by the leader, Gin Haru, in order to make sure none of the civilians get hurt. With my quirk, I am to start a small fire in the area where the man would most likely keep the people that had attended the party as hostages. Your mission is to strike the man directly and incapacitate any other lackeys accompanying him to give me time to both save the civilians and start the fire. Make sure to start the signal with anything flashy that comes to mind. Even though your illusions are still lacking finesse, I would want you to generate a flair in order to give the signal. Any questions?" Kai, now in his Shin persona, looked at Kuro with a serious stare.
"None." Kuro stated blandly as he surveyed the mansion. "I'll start by scouting the area and check the perimeter to ensure no variables are overlooked." With that, Kuro started walking away as Shin sighed and replaced his attire with a dark blue suit and tie.
"From the pan and into the fire huh?" Kai muttered to himself silently as he started walking into the estate with a carefree smile.
"Hello there." he smiled charmingly at a woman ushering people in. 'Must be the only female lackey he has. Shame, she's cute too'
"Hello" she smiled back warmly. "Are you here for the party as well?"
'A great actor too.'
"I've heard of a great man throwing his first-ever business party."
"And who might you be?"
"I'm the second son of a noble. My father had wanted me to go on his behalf to try and generate blood ties if you will," he smirked slightly as he saw her tense up. He got closer to her ear and whispered lightly. "It's your call." he smiled disarmingly as he took the keys without her notice.
"I-I'll go right away sir." she blushed as he smiled.
"Thank you."
As the pair walked into the house, Kai made sure no one noticed a black figure get inside the window right beside the mansion by asking random questions about the paintings on display. Finally reaching the door, the woman bowed as a man sitting on a chair overlooking the window was shown.
"Sir." Kai bowed.
"Who are you lad?" the man asked in a baritone voice that held a hint of hostility.
"I'm the son of a noble. I was wondering about creating funds for your business depicting a certain person." Kai asked blandly as he shifted his finger to the left. Thankfully, the man was still looking out the window and into a museum.
"Ah yes. I've received calls about the idea. I assume he sent you to be his representative?" he questioned as he finally turned around.
The man's baritone voice didn't do justice to his figure. He was a mountain of a man that seemed to have muscles everywhere. They were, however, enhanced to a degree.
'Steroids, along with something else' he thought with a grimace.
"Hai. My father had told me to ensure there were no loose ends" he stated blandly as his yellow eyes dulled.
"Straight to the point eh? I like you kid. Tell you what." the man smirked viciously. "First few hostages will be yours to deal with."
Kai almost let a smirk grace his lips but composed himself as the man kept on looking at him with a keen eye. "But first, show me the goods."
The bluenette let out an exaggerated sigh and a shake of the head. "You businessmen are so greedy. It's cool though, I'm the same." the teen smirked predatorily as Gin grinned.
~Flashback End~
"Help the hostages huh?" Kazuto smirked from the other side of the building. "I guess I only got one shot at this." he let out a heavy sigh as he started to concentrate. As he got in a meditative stance, he thought of the weapon he would want to use. Considering the distance and the need for impact, daggers were out of the question. He would need something with a longer range, something like a bow. He thought back on a famous bow he had read in mythology. Crafted by the sun rays themselves, the bow of the prophetic deity Apollo would be what he needed. Of course, seeing as how his imitations had a limit, they could only copy the bow for a single shot before making his vision blur or bleed out depending on its power. Any legendary weaponry would end up leaving one of his shoulders numb considering that he still can't control the power output for his illusions.
Putting his plan into action, Kazuto started to close his eyes and waited for a small itch in his eyes to be felt. As he opened them once more, his eyes took the shape of half-moons. On his left eye, the iris was as white as snow. On his right eye, the iris was as dark as the night sky. These two halve moons represent the obscurity of twilight hidden by light and darkness forever entwined. When he looked at his lap, the bow was there along with a single arrow made of silver.
"Let's make this count" he muttered as he prepared to shoot the arrow at the nearest lackey beside Gin. Lining up the shot and making sure his body was loose enough, he looked at the bluenette standing by the wall with his arms folded and a facade of aloofness and indifference. As he shifted his left hand into an upward motion, Kazuto shot the arrow.
"Hey," the drunk lackey asked dumbly as he saw something from the corner of his eye. "Is it me, or are the mosquitoes bigger nowadays?"
"The fuck are you on about?" the man looking at the cupped woman asked lamely as he too looked out the window.
"Sir! It's-" the man beside Gin tried to warn before the arrow pierced his heart with small wisps of fire being visible.
'Not bad' Kai smirked as he took control of the fire and started spreading it outward. With a snap of his fingers, the rest of the lackeys were surrounded by rings of blue fire as Gin looked at him in shock.
"Y-you..." the man recoiled in shock. "I know that blue fire anywhere! So it's you, Blue Lightning!"
"Hey," Kai smirked teasingly as the man shook in his boots. "Are you going to be fighting, or are you just going to stand there like a wuss?"
"Wha-" Gin was going to question the bluenette but was cut off by a flying escrima stick. From the window, the hostages looked at a limping figure that had two concentric half-moons with black and white irises.
"G-give me a break," the masked teen muttered with blood dripping from his left eye. "It's harder than it looks."
"True, but we've had a whole day to practice this" Kai smirked as he went to free the hostages.
"I-it's the Monkey King!" an ex-hostage muttered after thanking the bluenette.
"And the man called him Blue Lightning!" another man muttered as he took a look at the figure in a masquerade.
"No time for chit-chat..." Kai smirked as the people nodded.
"Enough!" Gin shouted as he got up with a grimace. "I'll make sure you stay dead!"
"Try all you want," Kuro smirked in false bravado. "We'll still beat you."
"Hn" Kai smirked as he glanced at the scorched lackeys.
"Die!" the burly man shouted as he shot forwards at high speeds.
Kuro only had time to raise his left escrima in a defensive stance before coughing up blood at the man's attack. Seeing the ravenette stagger, Gin was going to try and punch him one more time. As he raised his hands in the air, a column of blue flames with wisps of lightning got in his way.
"Can't you see he's still injured?" Kai mocked with a frown, trying to buy time for his partner to recover.
"Then I'll just go for you!" he shouted in rage as he blasted off like a madman.
The bluenette covered his legs in blue lightning to dodge the incoming attack. as he turned around, he saw Gin's hand stuck into the now broken wall. Just when he was about to taunt the man, he saw him wrench his arm off the wall and stare at the teen with murder in his eyes. Kai, not scared in the slightest, only smirked behind his masquerade.
"Is that all?" he taunted as Gin ran forward screaming bloody murder.
"I'll get you for tricking me!" he raged on as punch after punch missed its mark. He didn't notice the ground getting covered in static as lightning currents danced around.
"Haze: Discharge!" the bluenette muttered as he pointed his index finger forward as if it were a gun. At his command, the particles of lightning gathered into a single point, consequently at Gin's general direction.
"The hell!" Gin shouted as his entire body was singed. "I won't let you get away! I'll make sure the League pays me handsomely for your dead carcasses!" he shot off once more with fury overcoming his senses. He let out a scream as he got closer to the unmoving teen. Then...
the squelching of liquid red hit the ground as he turned to look at his left leg. Sticking from the other side was a black laced chokuto.
"Bind the shadows...Byakuya." Kuro smirked as the man stood stock still.
"I-I can't move!" the man shouted in fear as he looked at the chuckling bluenette.
As Kai got closer to the man, he saw the fear in his eyes and couldn't help but let out a predatorial smirk as he whispered into his ear. "Recover and remember, we let you live on a whim. Nothing more, nothing less."
With that, Gin saw nothing but darkness creep into his vision.
"G-guess it was a job well done." Kuro panted slightly as the half-moons receded, giving way to his coal-black eyes.
"Seems so" Kai smirked as he helped his friend back on his feet. Getting a burner phone from his pant's pocket, he sent a quick text to Eraserhead about the knocked out men before setting the phone on fire and turning it into ashes. "Time to get out of here."
"Hn" Kazuto grunted as he felt his vision blur.
(Two months later)
"Do you guys have everything?" Alice inquired with crossed arms.
"Yeah." both bluenette and ravenette exclaimed blandly as the blond puffed out her cheeks.
Laughing slightly at his girlfriend's antics, Eugeo went to Kai and shook his hand with a smirk. "Don't get into too much trouble."
"Tch. Ad if." Kai grinned cheekily.
"Oh! And try to keep Kazuto in line will you?" Eugeo smiled as he heard his brother shout in indignation.
"Oi! I'm not that bad!"
"Don't know," Kai shrugged carelessly. "I'm not his babysitter."
Suguha grinned cheekily as she saw her brother huff.
"I'll miss you." she muttered as she hugged her brother tightly.
"I'll make sure to call you and mom from time to time about my stay there." Kazuto smiled as he hugged her tightly.
"Ehem." three female coughs were heard as Alice, Asuna, and Shino looked at him expectantly.
"I'll call, all of you." Kazuto stressed the word as they nodded in approval.
Both Asuna and Shino shot forward and embraced their crush in a bone-crushing hug of their own.
"Good luck." they smiled beautifully at the ravenette before shooting each other dark looks.
"Yeah, see you." Kazuto scratched the back of his neck awkwardly.
"So..." a teen with purple hair and ruby-red eyes started off as she looked at the bluenette.
"So...?" the teen smirked as he saw her shift slightly.
"Good luck." she muttered softly as he looked into her eyes.
"Yeah, sure." Kai smiled charmingly as she hugged him. "I'll do that, Yuuki."
"Okay," she broke off the hug with a sigh. She then smiled brightly. "Don't forget to call me, okay?"
"Got it...empress." he smirked cheekily as he saw her puff her cheeks in irritation.
"Oh, my boys are growing so fast." Midori sighed sadly as she embraced both boys in a motherly hug. No matter how affectionate she had gotten during his stay at their home, Kai still felt a bit uncomfortable at the gesture. Not that he doesn't enjoy it, mind you, it's just that he still has to get used to them. The same goes for Suguha's crazed hugs, like right now.
"Way too fast mom!" Suguha sobbed loudly as her mother laughed lightly.
"Make sure to eat all your veggies. Especially you, Kazuto." she shot the raven-haired teen a glare as he shot his hands forward in a placating manner.
"I will don't worry." he smiled.
"And don't forget to focus on your studies without any distractions." she then shot the bluenette a glare as said teen looked alarmed.
"Me? But I'm more focused than Kazuto!" he tried to persuade the mother.
He only made her sigh tiredly.
"That's what worries me" she muttered.
"Oi!"
"Well then," Kai muttered as Kazuto composed himself. "Let's get going."
"Right." Kazuto nodded with a fond smile as he turned back to his waving family and friends.
Two blocks down the road, they took a sharp turn as Kazuto dangled some keys in his hand.
"Onto UA then!" he grinned as he threw a helmet to his blue-haired friend.
"Hn" he nodded with a smirk.
Through hell and high waters, this will be a hell of a ride. Hope our hero costumes come in time though...I made sure to change some things. Other than that, let's incite some chaos baby!
