Chloe had a lovely few days in Aberdeen. Their girlie cocktail night out had been a laugh and they all got a little tipsy but no where near as messy as their nights out got in their late teens and early 20s. Although Chloe often ended up flaking out on them or going home early due to her Anxiety. She knew Eilidh would look after Fi and Soph. She'd had brunch with Eilidh they next day which had been lovely and the food had been delicious. She'd spent a lot of time with Gran too which was always wonderful. And she'd been round to see Fiona's parents and sister Alice too. She thought she'd have to come back to Aberdeen more often.
It was about a 3 hour drive to the cottage in the Trossachs. That would normally be a long drive for Chloe but compared to the drive up to Aberdeen a few days ago it felt like nothing. It was Monday and Chloe decided she'd have brunch with Gran and leave after that for the cottage and Mum and Fletch would get there later. It was about a 7 hour journey for them once you factored in dropping Fletch's children off at camp in Gloucestershire. They were coming in Fletch's big comfy car.
Although Chloe had a great time in Aberdeen she'd been quite busy she was looking forward too some quiet time and relaxing. She knew there was a huge jacuzzi bath in the cottage which she couldn't wait for. She needed to pop to the supermarket on the way too. The cottage was so in the middle of nowhere that it would take ages to go out and get supplies otherwise. She'd checked the weather and it's wasn't snowy which Chloe felt happy about. She wasn't that confident about driving in the snow. It had been a while since she'd lived in Scotland and the pathetic amount of snow Holby sometimes got was never too much of a danger to the traffic.
Chloe had an eclectic taste in music. Pop, soft rock, folk songs-especially those in Gaelic, she also had a soft spot for musical theatre. As a dancer Fiona was always sending Chloe new musical theatre songs to listen too. Her newest favourites were 'six' 'kinky boots' and 'everybody's talking about Jamie' since it was only her in the car she put her musical playlist on and started singing along.
Evan Crowhurst looked at his phone. He had put a tracker on Chloe's car. If he couldn't see her in the hospital he couldn't keep her safe. She'd been in Aberdeen the last weekend and he'd followed staying in a B . He'd spotted her from a distance in a park with another lady and 2 young kids. She was driving south west on the A90 now. Towards Perth. He followed about 10 miles behind. It didn't look like she was headed back to Holby. Especially when she turned onto the A9. She stopped in Dunblane. He could see her car at Asda he stopped in the B car park across the road. Far enough away that there was no way she could see him but close enough that he could follow again about 10 miles behind when she got going.
She seemed to be going towards the Trossachs or Loch Lomond so he continued to follow.
Chloe grabbed a load of supplies at Asda. Essentials such as bread and milk. Things she loved such as chocolate and some fake milk and a bottle of rosé, then some gin for her mum and beers for Fletch. Even a little bit of sherry for Gran. She just wanted everyone to relax and have a lovely time. She needed to relax. Aberdeen has been great but she spent a lot of time with people and was looking forward to just spending time alone, napping, reading, playing board games, talking walks and restoring her energy. She might even do some drawing. She used to draw a lot when she was a teenager. It relaxed her even though they definitely weren't masterpieces-although they'd got her an A in school.
The roads started to get windyer and she could feel the altitude making her ears pop. The Trossachs sure were beautiful. She pulled into the driveway of "pine cottage" it was exactly as she remembered it. Her mum had texted her the number for the key safe and she unlocked the door. She brought her suitcase in as well as her shopping. She put the shopping away and the suitcase in the room she was going to stay in. She poured herself a glass of orange juice and smiled as the sweet liquid filled her mouth. She pulled her jacket on and walked outside with her orange juice to the patio table out the back when she heard a car pull up. It must be mum and Fletch earlier than expected. She couldn't wait to tell her mum about Aberdeen. She'd texted her a few times but was excited to have a proper chat.
"Chloe" it wasn't mum. It wasn't Fletch.
"Evan?"
