Shorter chapter for this one. I figured Angel was the bearer of bad news in the last chapter, so here's some good news for Faith.

Angel was early today. He also had a baby in his hands. Faith figured there was a story behind this.

"So...what's new?" Faith asked, testing the waters.

Angel looked up from playing with the baby and spoke into the prison phone. "Faith, this is Connor." He held up the kid so Faith could get a better look.

"Cute kid. Cordy get knocked up or something?" Faith asked. That was the only possible scenario she saw for this.

"Actually, Connor's my son." Angel said, in a whisper after glancing around.

Faith dropped the phone for a moment, before quickly bringing it back to her ear. "I'm sorry, he's what?"

Angel swifty explained the situation. The sleeping with Darla, the kid's mystical birth and foretold existence through world ending prophecies.

"You...as a dad," Faith said, testing the words. "Huh. I can see it."

Angel slightly raised Connor and said to him. "Connor, this is your aunt Faith."

Aunt Faith. She liked the sound of that. "Man, Angel, whenever you visit, I get another bomb dropped on me." She smiled. "For the record, I intend to be this kid's favorite aunt."

Angel suddenly turned serious. "Faith, he's had people come after already. You gotta promise me you won't say a word to anyone. I haven't even told Wesley and the others I brought him here, but I really wanted you to meet him."

Once again, Angel managed to surprise her. She figured he'd stop that by now. His kid's life was on the line and he wanted to take the time to introduce her to him. He took the time to think about her.

"So, how are you doing?" Angel asked.

"Five by five," she replied. She really was doing much better than when she first arrived. "Working out in the yard more. Most of the guards and prisoners know my rep by now to know not to mess with me, so it's nice. Peaceful, almost…"

"Boring?" Angel asked with a smile.

"You could say that."

"Boring can be good for people like us," Angel said. "Boring means calm."

Faith nodded. "The pain...all the pain from the guilt hasn't stopped hurting. It's like you said, it never will. I just...I think i'm starting to live with it."

Angel looked down at Connor before looking back at Faith. "I think I'm starting to understand that."

Faith laughed. "So, how's fatherhood been treating you?"

Angel looked at her, and as he began to launch into a rant about baby formula, Faith couldn't get rid of the smile that refused to leave her face.

I know Faith only found out about Connor when Wesley told her in season 4, but I couldn't help but add a nice baby Connor moment.
