Percy

Percy Jackson was a seven-year-old kid who was playing in the park. His best friend, Annabeth Chase, should be meeting him there.

His mom was talking with one of her friends a little bit away as Percy played on the playground.

Percy went down the slide and he saw an eight-year-old girl, with blonde hair, princess curls and stormy gray eyes, walking by an older women, who had brown hair, but the same eyes, Annabeth's mother, Athena Chase.

He smiled widely and ran over to Annabeth, who for some reason, had a sad expression on her face.

"Annie! There's nobody else on the playground, we have it all to ourselves!"

"Yeah, but Percy, I can't play with you today. Or tomorrow. Or ever."

Percy was certainly confused, and his smile disappeared right off his face. He watched Annabeth with an expression of hurt and confusion.

"Why… Why can't you Annie?"

"My mom is making us move away…"

"Why is your mommy making you leave?

"She said that its because of her job."

"Why can't she quit her job, so you can stay here? You belong here Annie!"

"I'll miss you, but my mom can't quit her job, she said so."

"Well your mommy's wrong! You should stay here!" At that point, Percy had tears in his eyes, hurt that his best friend would be leaving him. He was a little bit angry, but he was mostly sad and upset.

"I can't, Percy. Maybe I can convince my mom to visit." Annabeth seemed to have some tears in her eyes as well as she turned around and went back to her mom.

Percy looked over to his mom, heartbroken. Ms. Jackson was watching the two children with a sad expression, like it hurt to see Percy so sad.

He ran over to her and hugged her, unable to contain his tears anymore. Percy stayed there for a little bit, before decided to ask Annabeth one more time. He looked over to where the mother and daughter were before, and luckily, they haven't left yet, since they were watching Percy and Sally.

Percy wiped away his tears with the sleeve of his hood and walked over to Annabeth. He looked up sadly at her and with tear filled eyes.'

"Annabeth? Do… do you have to move?"

Annabeth nodded sadly at Percy's last attempt at getting her to stay.

"I do. I'm sorry Percy."

Percy sniffled and nodded. He hugged Annabeth goodbye, finally giving up. The two of the hugged for a good five minutes before Annabeth pulled back, also having tears in her eyes. She went back to her mom, and Percy went back to his.

He grabbed his mom's hand and started to walk away. Percy looked over his shoulder, and saw Mrs. Chase also walking away, holding her daughter's hand. Annabeth also happened to be looking over her shoulder at the same time as Percy, and they made a silent agreement.

The two best friends would always remember each other.

I'll admit that this wasn't my best work, and it seemed a bit rushed to me, but whatever, it was decently fun to write, so yeah. Hope you enjoyed; I suppose.
