Percy
Percy was headed to his mom's apartment so he could look after Estelle while his mother was off at a book signing. He reached the apartment and when he opened the door, he found his little sister, Estelle who was eight, standing on a chair with a cake and the room all decorated with streamers and balloons.
"Percy!"
His sister jumped up and threw a small box at him that she must have had behind her back.
"What's all this for Estelle?"
"It's your anniversary."
Percy looked at her, confused. Annabeth and Percy had gotten married in April, and it was August.
He shook his head, saying, "No, it's my birthday."
"Yeah, your anniversary of being born!"
Percy laughed at Estelle's choice of words and just decided to grin and now. "Oh, you're right, it is!"
Estelle nodded and mirrored his own lopsided grin. "Happy anniversary Perce! Open your present!" She finally sat down on the chair and Percy went to go join her after grabbing the little white box with a blue bow on top of it.
Carefully opening the box, he found a small, smashed blue cupcake with little green and purple sprinkles on it. Estelle's favourite colours was green and purple.
His little sister looked at him, waiting for him to tell her that he loved it.
"Thanks Estelle, this is great! Did you make it yourself?"
Estelle nodded proudly and showed him her hands, which were covered with flour. "Yeah! Mom only helped with the oven, but I did everything else!"
Percy chuckled and ruffled her hair. "Nice job!"
She smiled again and went to grab another box from underneath the couch. "I have another present for you! I made it all by myself!" Estelle looked around is if to check if anyone was there, leaned in and whispers into Percy's ear, "Mom and dad don't even know."
Percy gasped and acted shocked at what she did. "Wow, that's risky little sister."
The small girl nodded again and shoved the box, this time quite a lot longer but also thinner, blue and a red bow smacked on top of the cute box.
"Open it Percy!"
He chuckled and once again, carefully took off the bow and took of the lid. Percy found a hand-made wooden sword, but painted blue with a sloppy trident engraved on the handle.
"So? Do you like it?"
"I love it Estelle, it's the best present I could have gotten."
"I knew you'd like it! Cause I'm the best at giving people gifts!"
"Of course you are, you're the best at everything!"
Estelle grinned proudly and nodded in agreement. "Yes, yes I am!"
He chuckled again and set the box to the side and flipped the light sword in his hands a couple of times to get used to its weight.
"How about we spar a little, huh Estelle? You can borrow my sword and I'll use this fantastic one you made for me."
His little sister grinned and shook her excitedly. "Yeah! You said it, no taking it back!"
"I won't don't carry worry." He handed Estelle his pen-sword and she looked at it with wonder which Percy found amusing as it wasn't even uncapped yet.
"Now let's go, I have a feeling you'll win."
Percy picked up his little sister and they went out to the top of the apartment to do some safe sparring.
