Abyssal Hero: Eldritch

Harry Potter/ Amajiki Tamaki (Suneater)

Amajiki; a young skinny, pale skinned and indigo haired teen, who wouldn't look out of place in the emo scene, headed down the sunken steps in the side alley and casually knocked on the red metallic door. The shutter wrenched open and a pair of purple eyes appeared "Who are you?"

"Suneater, Internship, UA." Amajiki Tamaki whispered. The door creaked open revealing a young boy with purple hair and currently abnormal ears standing at the door. Amajiki didn't know what was more nerve-wracking the disorientating teen or the near permanent gloom of the agency.

"Uncle, it's the Hentai Fingers from the festival." There was a chuckling and rumbling sensation before the distinctive sound of a hand connecting with the back of a skull.

"Where'd you learn that?"

"Your weird anime boxsets…Besides, you said the exact same thing."

"True…Now, apologise. Get him a drink! I've taught you better than this."

"Aye, you've also taught me how to break wrists and cockshot in a scrap."

The shadows seemingly convulsed and Amajiki and the child were joined by another person "Amajiki Tamaki?"

"That's me."

"Potter Hadrian, Abyssal Hero: Eldritch. Now thankyou for taking my offer for your internship, now I understand that your quirk is a manifestation quirk, correct?"

Amajiki nodded "It reacts with the food that I've eaten."

"So, versatile in choice but not necessarily the most effective that's an interesting variation of mine."

Amajiki's eyes widened "You have a manifest quirk to?"

"Yup, mine is more visual and cognitively linked; it doesn't help that I'm a massive horror, thriller, chiller and occult enthusiast."

"You…run around like characters out of horror films…Only you've spliced them together to make them much more terrifying."

"Yes. Anyway, I'm intending to help you improve your quirk control, food combinations and micro-managing minor effects of the food you eat. For example; did you know Octopi have a poisonous blood; it comes across as a paralysis inducer?"

"I was aware, but I didn't know I could do that."

Eldritch grinned "That's the marvellous things about quirks, only through vigorous training and possible demon-deals can we master our potential."

"What about doing heroic stuff, like patrols etc."

"We'll be doing that. I've got a few cases that need wrapping up; so we've got that to do." Harry said as he handed Amajiki a cup of tea.

"I thought on internships, we, students are meant to observe."

"Technically, I didn't learn through supervision. So I'll teach you and mentor you the same way I was taught…on the job." Amajiki gulped, but was strangely excited.

The week started effective immediately; Amajiki got changed and met Harry in his training room. Harry was dressed in a simple black bulletproof and probably stab-proof clothing. Like Amajiki he was barefoot. "Let's see what you've got!" With that Harry lunged at his intern.

Amajiki nodded, as his feet turned to chicken feet and squid tentacles appeared from his fingers. With that Hero and Intern dissolved into a Jackson Pollock-esque mess of blood, broken tentacle limbs and sore bodies. The sparring only took half an hour for Harry to understand the many limitations, if self-imposed limitations, and many strengths of Amajiki Tamaki.

"You're too unsure of yourself. You've honed your quirk remarkably well but you fear that you'll never be as good as your friends. You've the potential to be versatile but you hinder yourself by comparing yourself to your friends."

"Then what do I do?"

"You follow my advice. I was much like you. I had people thrust all of their demands and expectations on me; I was expected to roll over and do whatever I was told to do. I did, from years Eleven to Seventeen, I was moulded and conditioned into being a Hero."

Amajiki's eyes widened "Then why do it?"

"Because as Alexander Anderson says in Hellsing Abridged 'Because its fucking fun!' Now, fancy a drug-bust or catching a serial killer?"

"Do I honestly have a say?"

"Only in which order."

"Let's do the Serial Killer…So what do we do?"

It turned out catching the killer was remarkably easy. The duo, sat on a building with takeout and drinks: sitting, lying and crouching on the roof waiting for their serial killer, a petty villain with a fear-to-strength quirk.

"Emotional related quirks are such potentially amazing quirks, had one guy at school. Dean Thomas, near-enough blind as a bat but he had a constant adrenaline flow and thus one of the physically more capable students I've met."

"Doing high tense stimulation requiring eye-sight meaning he moved quicker than everyone else."

Harry chuckled "Yup. Bastard decided to call himself the Daredevil; not exactly a common mantle. I suggested Batcrobat…Yeah, I wasn't the best at naming people."

"Abyssal Hero: Eldritch…Not exactly the most friendly of names."

"My young apprentice; there are those whom many would call 'goths' and 'edge-lords' who flock to my banner! To be one with abyss and darkness takes a certain gravitas, style and drama…also being a batshit loon and able to quote the Necronomicon by heart is pretty chilling."

Just then Tsyosa Kyofa, a non-descript young man of college age; blood on his jacket left the second floor building via the fire-escape. "I see him." Harry said as he looked down.

"How do we do this?"

"I'd drop down, then pull the fire-escape out of the building. Or grab him as I do that."

"Without breaking him into pieces, Eldritch…I swear, you're more like Lemillion everyday."

"Oh yes, Exposure Hero: Indecency or Listed Hero: Nudist…I saw his fight in the Festival; I couldn't breathe because I was cackling at his despair. Anyway, down you go. I'll be right behind you. Signature: Yautja!"

Amajiki heard the distinctive sounds of limbs, ligaments, tendons, bones and muscle cracking and popping, as they distorted themselves. The indigo haired teen vaguely noticed that his mentors entire body had changed entirely; soon enough it didn't matter as Amajiki jumped off the building, sprouting chicken wings that manifested on him to accommodate the human weight.

As he fluttered/fell towards the floor, he chucked his left arm out and tentacles erupted from both his shoulder and his hand. The serial killer had no chance as he was seamlessly plucked from his escape route and chucked towards his supervisor.

By now the police were responding as the serial killer was caught by the transformed Eldritch "Tsyosa, you're under arrest for five quirk related serial killings. You are allowed medical assistance if you believe you are injured, your legal defence shall be contacted if you have one; if not one will be assigned to you. Do you understand?" There was a nod of the head and he was thrown into the back of the police car.

"Now, young Suneater…time for the paperwork."

The officers looked "Eldritch…you do know that your intern…"

Eldritch shifted slightly getting his new look up in to the officers face "Last time I checked it's the supervising hero, ME, who calls the shots. I decide if my intern has a cushy week or I decide to make him work it; I chose the way I was taught, besides Suneater did a bang-up job."

Eldritch had a reputation for less than pleasant relations with police officers who thought they could talk and walk professional heroics. Yet, almost paradoxically; he got along with former Police Officer turned Pro-Hero Fatgum.

Speaking of the BMI: Hero, he arrived moments later "Eldritch, Suneater; BMI Hero: Fatgum on the scene."

"Fatgum…Suneater, this is Fatgum; Fat, my intern Suneater."

Fatgum cocked his head "Your intern do this instead of you?"

"Yup…You can't fault an entity like me to not attempt to corrupt the youth of tomorrow?"

"No…that I can't. But I can fault you for your choice."

"A serial killer or a group of punks with guns…"

"Serial killer." The larger hero replied.

Eldritch turned back to Amajiki "You did fucking amazing…Now to the Agency, we get the paperwork done the sooner I can torture you."

"Mind if I tag along? Suneater, what is your quirk?"

"Manifest."

Eldritch growled and his stomach bubbled "Get your own intern."

"I will! I will! Besides nothing wrong with Heroes like me and you splitting Intern and Work Study hopefuls."

Amajiki watched as the two heroes cheerfully bantered over him "Am I some sort of commodity?"

"In terms of Heroics yes. Interns and Work Study Programme relations between school and heroes make up part of their figures. The more interns you've had working for you and the interns have developed, both of you get markings and poll updates; some heroes build careers around it. Unless you're Endeavour."

Amajiki looked at the duo "You guys aren't fans of Endeavour?"

"Spoilers, we'll tell you when you're in your third year. Anyway, under the cold embrace of the evening; villainy and stupidity only becomes more apparent. It is up to Abyssal Lords and Underground Heroes to keep the peace."

With that Amajiki's interesting weeklong internship began. As he would later do as he got older, Eldritch…The Abyssal Hero was right. A hero needed a certain gravitas; this current bunch of freshmen would benefit physically; not mentally but they'd benefit under the Abyssal Hero.

"You okay?" Nejire asked.

Amajiki smiled "Just getting my mask on. A Hero needs Gravitas and Suneater has the Gravitas that Amajiki Tamaki does not, anyway lets watch Mirio hospitalise our freshmen."

AN: This was harder to do than I thought. Enjoy.
