Hello again. Back with another Saturday update. These won't last forever so don't take them for granted :)
Drama Nation - Episode 3, Part 1 - Do I Get Complimentary Donuts?
"Last time on Drama Nation," Chris narrated. "The town of Gemini was faced with a tough decision – to kill the chickens or to, well, not."
"Not everyone was happy about this, particularly the girls of the blue district, who took to protesting by locking themselves in the pen."
"You're not killing the chickens!" Bridgette yelled. "It's cruel and wrong!"
"…and going on a hunger strike…"
"It's only…" Dawn took a deep breath as she got to her feet. "A matter of time before they give in."
"…like, seriously, they do realise that if they get hurt, their parents are liable. Not that I'm complaining."
"Meanwhile, the yellow district struggled in the kitchen, and council member Courtney refused to accept any outside help."
"DJ, I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to ask you to leave."
"The town was on the verge of starvation, when Owen, Cody and Shawn swooped in and served everyone a feast of trout and sturgeon. This effort did not go unrecognised, and at the next town council, it was Owen who won the second $50,000 gold star."
"Six days have passed, thirty-four days to go. How many kids will still be alive when the show is over? I don't know and I could say I don't care, but that would be a lie. We shall venture closer tonight on Drama…Nation!"
…
Shawn whistled to himself as he wiped the counter of the pub, when his attention turned to Dawn who was serving up a pint of root beer to Jo, who took a huge gulp.
"Oh man do I need this," Jo sighed to herself. "I just can't deal with this town sometimes. My district completely betrayed me. For some reason my team-mates care more about some stupid 8-year-old boy than getting upper class."
"Maybe you wouldn't feel so bad if you stopped viewing them as nothing more than team-mates," Dawn remarked.
Shawn's mouth dropped open. Ezekiel, who was also working the bar, let out a snort.
"What are you talking about?" Jo asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Jo," Dawn said, shaking her head. "Your non-stop thirst for winning is a product of your past struggles with friendships. And because of this you seem to misunderstand your district's motivations."
"Excuse me?" Jo frowned.
"Jo, it doesn't have to be like this. People are much more than their physical abilities. They can be friends, companions, or even more. Just consider it. I can assure you that your district will welcome you with open arms."
Jo looked very taken aback, but she quickly shook her head. "You have no idea what you're talking about. You don't know me."
With that, she walked out of the bar, leaving behind a half-unfinished glass.
"Dibs!" Shawn exclaimed, grabbing the root-beer and beginning to chug.
"Uh, are you psychic or something?" Ezekiel asked, stepping closer to Dawn.
"I prefer the term 'aura-whisperer'," Dawn scowled. "But yes, you more or less have the right idea."
"That is so cool!" Shawn exclaimed before letting out a burp. "What number am I thinking of right now?"
Dawn giggled.
"That's not how it works. Thinking of a number is a conscious thought. It disappears within minutes. I read people's auras – the shaping of their subconscious mind."
"Say what?" Shawn asked in confusion.
"The subconscious," Ezekiel repeated. "It's where your brain stores all the stuff that you don't need right now, but you could pull it out when you need it. Like you're not always thinking about when your birthday is, but you could tell me if I asked."
"Well sure. My birthday's the second of July," Shawn shrugged.
"So, what I can do is take a look at what causes people to be the way they are," Dawn explained. "Take yourself, Shawn. Your constant paranoia of a zombie invasion is a result of years of being raised by permissive parents who let you stay up late and watch scary movies."
"Awesome, isn't it?" Shawn grinned. "Most of my friends have to go to bed by 9 o'clock. It's so lame."
"Don't you get tired the next day?" Ezekiel asked.
"Not really. I usually catch up in the afternoon," Shawn shrugged.
"I can't believe it. You were spot on," Ezekiel said in awe. "What about me?"
"Ezekiel," Dawn said. "You have so many good qualities. You're strong, loyal and always willing to lend a helping hand."
Ezekiel grinned, liking what he heard so far.
"But you do come from a sheltered upbringing, so you are quite naïve to how things work in the modern world," she continued. "Like saying boys are stronger than girls, that's not okay."
"But they are," Ezekiel protested. "I've read…"
"Real life is much more complicated than what you read in textbooks," Dawn interrupted. "Sure, on average guys are stronger than girls, but that doesn't mean every girl is weaker than you. Take Eva from the green district – would you want to be in a fight with her?"
Ezekiel thought about it, "No. She's a shrew if I ever saw one."
Dawn laughed, "You have a long way to go, Zeke."
Ezekiel, 13, Manitoba: I dunno if I agree with what Dawn says about girls, but it's scary how much she knows about my personal life. And Shawn's. She's not a witch, is she?
"Well, that was a productive town hall," Leshawna said in satisfaction as she pushed open the door of the grocery. "I wonder…oh my God!"
She stepped inside and spotted several empty sweet jars scattered across the floor.
"…and that's how I got to level 23," Sam told Leonard as the two of them entered the shop, only to be greeted by Leshawna frowning with her hands on her hips.
"Tell me you two did not eat all that candy while I was gone," she said angrily.
"Sorry. Did you want any?" Sam asked nervously, hands behind his back.
"You weren't supposed to eat it, you were supposed to sell it!" Leshawna shouted at them.
The two boys hung their heads in shame.
"I'm sorry," Sam sighed.
"I'm even sorrier," Leonard added.
Leshawna shook her head, "Let's just get this place cleaned up before Harold checks in on us."
Leshawna, 14, Manitoba: [laughs] Kids do the darndest things sometimes.
The sun rose on Gemini as the four council members entered the chapel.
"Let's see what the totally-not-a-prop has in store for us today," Noah said as he shut the door behind them.
Sky was the first to sit down and turn a page in the journal.
"Pioneers, if you're reading this, I bet you're starting to settle into Gemini," she read. "Unfortunately, as we've found, there's a few bad apples hidden in the bunch. Some residents see no wrong in breaching the rules. Trespassing in the animal enclosures, fighting council members, stealing from the grocery…"
"That would never happen under my watch," Harold insisted, folding his arms.
"Something must be done to stop these crimes. The laws you set out must be enforced," Sky concluded.
"So they're saying we should have a police force?" Courtney asked rhetorically.
"Noah did suggest implementing a penal system yesterday," Harold said.
"I was kidding," Noah said dryly. "Not that it would be a bad idea."
"What's in this box?" Harold asked, opening a crate on the table. "No way!"
He pulled out four hats one by one.
"Hey, those are the hats the Mounties wear," Sky said excitedly.
"Campaign hat is the correct term," Harold stated.
"That's a fun fact," Noah said sarcastically.
"So who do we choose?" Sky asked.
"We need people who are strong, but have a clean record and will be willing to enforce the rules," Courtney said.
"I'd choose Brick from my district," Sky stated. "He goes to military school, so he's all about that stuff."
"I would have thought Eva was the obvious choice," Noah interjected.
"Yeah," Sky replied awkwardly. "Eva's my friend but she's not exactly what you'd call…a rule follower."
Noah shrugged in response.
"We shouldn't force anyone into these roles," Courtney said. "We'll announce our plans at breakfast, and then we can let people try out."
"Sounds good," Sky nodded, and the four of them stood up.
Sky, 9, Town Council: Like I said, Eva's great and all, but I don't trust someone who knocked out a girl with a metal pipe to be a police officer
Leshawna made a chef's kiss after she had swallowed the first mouthful of her breakfast.
"This biscuit is so good," Bridgette sighed in delight. "I'm so glad they let DJ back in the kitchen."
"You can say that again," Beth agreed. "Can someone pass the strawberry jam?"
"Here," Gwen replied, passing a clay tub to the stout girl.
"Attention pioneers!" Courtney announced as the four council members stood before the town.
It took a few seconds for the talking to die down, and then they had everyone's undivided attention.
"We read another entry in the journal this morning," Harold said.
"That always ends well," Gwen muttered sarcastically.
"So, as many of you may be aware, this town hasn't been the most complying," Harold continued.
"What does complying mean?" Shawn asked with a raised hand.
"It means some people haven't been respecting the rules of the town," Harold answered, which made Shawn grumble.
Shawn, 9, Alberta: Sometimes I think Harold wants me to die.
"Because of all this, we've decided to start a police force," Courtney continued. "Tryouts will be in the far east building after breakfast."
"We'll choose the best four. And you get to wear one of these hats," Noah added, holding one up.
"Cool," Jasmine said in awe.
"And one more thing," Courtney stated. "As part of this new programme, we will be building a town jail, and we'd like to upper class to pitch in and help us build it."
There were several groans at this.
Amy, 9, New Brunswick: The red district won upper class fair and square. No way am I helping to build some stupid prison.
Leshawna, 14, Manitoba: Is this really necessary? Trust me – police ain't always good news.
The four council members sat at a table in the far east building as nine other pioneers stood in front of them.
Cody and Owen from the reds, Ezekiel from the blues, Tyler from the yellows, and Brick, Eva, Geoff, Jasmine and Lightning from the greens.
"Thank you all for coming!" Courtney grinned. "We…"
"What's up, guys? Sorry I'm late," Duncan greeted as he waltzed in. "So, this is where we audition."
"I guess you can call it that," Noah shrugged.
"Good," Duncan nodded, rubbing his palms together.
"You want to be a cop?" Courtney asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Sure," Duncan shrugged. "Mom's a cop, dad's a cop, uncles, aunts and cousins – cops. It's in my blood."
"I thought you said you went to juvie," Geoff stated, scratching his head.
"Uh, yeah, for work experience," Duncan smiled awkwardly, sending Geoff a wink.
"Oh yeah, that's right. Sorry man," Geoff responded, his eyes going wide.
Duncan, 14, Manitoba: Honestly I just showed up to get out of washing dishes. But hey, being a cop could have its perks.
The ten candidates stood in a line outside as Noah drew a line with chalk about 100 metres away.
"We will be giving you three tests to see whether or not you're fit for this job," Courtney told everyone. "Agility, physical strength, and knowledge of law."
"When I whistle, you are to run all the way over to Noah and Harold," Sky said. "Good luck."
She let out a loud whistle, and everyone took off.
Well, almost everyone. Tyler tripped and fell about two metres in.
Courtney, 14, Town Council: I said I hated having Duncan on my district, but at this point, I'm starting to regret Tyler even more.
He's bad at challenges, he's bad at cooking, and he won't go near the animals because he's afraid of chickens. What is he good at?
Gwen walked over to Quiet Kid, who was getting started on building a foundation.
"Hey," she said. "Gwen reporting for duty."
Quiet Kid looked at her for a couple of seconds, and then got back to work.
"So we're the only two who showed up? Can't say I'm surprised," Gwen shrugged. "Our district is in for a treat when we lose upper class."
She gave Quiet Kid a light jab with her foot.
"Hey, I know you like to be in your own world, but let me do something," she said.
Quiet Kid frowned at her, but pointed at one of the crates. Gwen went over to it and pulled out some medium-sized planks.
"What do you want me to do with these?" she called.
Quiet Kid gestured for her to come back, and set the planks down beside him. He then proceeded to pick one up and hammer it in.
"So that's it?" Gwen frowned. "You just want me to hand you stuff that you're too lazy to get yourself?"
Quiet Kid didn't respond. He just continued to hammer.
"Forget it. I can see I'm not needed here," she said angrily, and she stomped off.
Gwen, 14, British Columbia: What is that guy's deal? I just wanted to help.
Gwen continued to stomp across the grass when Amy and Sammy came into earshot.
"Come on, Samey. Just because we're upper class doesn't mean we can sit around and do nothing all day," Amy said, gripping her sister's arm.
"I was working. I was doing the laundry with Ella when you dragged me away," Sammy protested.
"How many times do I have to tell you? You can't be around the green district. We're upper class, and they're labourers. It's just wrong."
"Are you going to help build the jail?" Gwen asked.
"Yeah," Amy replied.
"Don't bother. Quiet Kid wants to do it all himself."
"Okay," Amy responded. "Any other work that needs to be done?"
"Well, I guess I'm gonna help at the dry goods store," Gwen shrugged.
"Good. Amy here is a very hard worker, and she'd love to come too," Amy said. "And I, Samey, will go back to bed, because I'm lazy."
She let out a laugh as she skipped off, and Gwen turned to Sammy. The twin looked down and scratched her arm.
Gwen made a gesture with her head, "This way, Sammy."
"Y-you got my name right," Sammy stuttered.
"Yeah, I can tell the difference. Amy has that gross mole on her face," Gwen shrugged.
"She calls it her 'beauty mark," Sammy sighed.
The two walked for a bit, then Gwen said, "I don't know how she gets away with pushing you around like that. Oh wait, I know, because Noah's the laziest leader ever. Seriously, there could be a nuclear explosion right now and he wouldn't notice."
Sammy laughed nervously, "She's been doing it for years. I've sort of, just, gotten used to it."
"Well you shouldn't," Gwen said. "If my little brother acted like that I would smack him across the face."
Sammy laughed again as the two of them arrived in front of the dry goods store.
"Well, this is the place," she said as she approached the door, only to look back at Sammy.
Gwen sighed, "If you want to go do laundry, you should go do laundry."
"But…"
"If Amy has a go at you, she'll have me to answer to," Gwen smirked.
Sammy gave Gwen a hug, and then she ran off.
Gwen, 14, British Columbia: Amy thinks nobody notices what she does. And she's right. Most of the red district is too ignorant to realise.
The candidates for police, besides Tyler, stood in a line in front of the four council members. They were all at varying degrees of fatigued.
"Can't…breathe…" Owen puffed.
"Hey!" Duncan exclaimed, getting in Harold's face. "I won the race."
"Yes, you did. Congratulations," Courtney grinned at him.
"So…am I on the force now?" he asked, hands in his pockets.
"We still have two more tests," Courtney reminded him. "Next we will be testing your physical strength. All we ask is for you to punch at this wooden board that Sky is bringing over."
The candidates all turned to look as Sky pulled over a wooden board that was about 2 metres in length and width.
Cody raised his hand, "What happens if I…I mean, one of us, breaks the board?"
Duncan let out a snort of laughter.
"Uh…" Courtney replied hesitantly.
"There's more boards just like that one. I can bring them over," Sky shrugged, before dashing off.
"So," Noah said, rubbing his hands. "Who wants to go first?"
Right when he finished the sentence, Cody let out an almighty roar and charged for the board. But no sooner than his fist landed on the board, his roar turned into a shrill screech.
The boy clutched his wrist and let out several swear words.
Ezekiel gasped and covered his ears.
Eva gasped and covered Brick's ears.
Noah shook his head as he walked over to his fellow district member.
"Dude, go find Bridgette. She's done with Tyler by now," he said, patting Cody on the back. Cody nodded slowly as he walked off.
Bridgette, 13, British Columbia: So far I've saved five people from drowning, several chickens from being killed, and now I'm playing the role of nurse.
Would it be too much to ask for a gold star?
"…so I let her go," Gwen shrugged. She had just finished talking about her encounter with Sammy.
"Woah," Beth said in awe. "So what are you gonna do if Amy has another go at her?"
"She's nine, I'm fourteen. What can't I do?" Gwen smirked.
"You're really brave, Gwen," Zoey said. "You should get the next gold star."
"Nah, it's gotta be Bridgette next," Beth responded. "But Gwen would be good too."
"50,000 bucks would be awesome," Gwen sighed. "But I doubt I'll win. It's all about…"
"Hey, where's my change?" Scott interrupted. "I ain't paying 25 cents for a ping-pong ball."
Zoey brought her hand to her face and whimpered.
"I'll handle this," Gwen assured her.
She marched to the other side of the counter to stand opposite the younger redhead.
"Scott, you keep playing the same trick over and over. Nobody's falling for it anymore," she said dryly.
"But…"
"Get out!" Gwen screeched. Scott let out a squeak and ran off, with Rodney right behind him.
Scott, 11, British Columbia: Darn it! People are catching on! I need some new material.
"Ahhhh!" Owen roared as he ran into the wooden plank, smashing it to bits.
"Thank you, Owen," Courtney said. "But you weren't supposed to use your whole body."
"I think it counted," Noah shrugged.
"So that's everyone," Harold announced. "Only two, Eva and Geoff, actually managed to smash it, but most of you at least made a dent."
"You can just say everyone but Cody," Duncan remarked, which made some people laugh.
"But it's time for the final part!" Courtney announced. "We're going to ask you all a bunch of rapid-fire questions about the law and the job. This won't just test knowledge, but also reaction and reflex."
"Are you ready!?" Sky exclaimed.
"Yes!" Owen shouted back.
"Jasmine, who is allowed into the chapel?" Harold asked.
"The council members only!"
"Brick," Noah asked. "What should be the penalty for shoplifting?"
"Fined 50 cents," Brick answered. "Or 3 hours in the jail."
"Not bad," Noah commented, moving his notecard to the back of the pile.
"Geoff, what time should pioneers go to bed?" Courtney asked.
"Uh…midnight?"
Courtney, 14, Town Council: The competition was really stiff. Just one mistake could really cost someone the job.
DJ poked his head into the girls' side of the green cabin.
Jo was lying flat on her sleeping bag.
"Hi Jo," he greeted.
"What do you want?" she snarled, turning her head.
"I just…wanted to see if you were okay," DJ said, sitting down beside her.
"I'm not doing any work."
"That's okay," DJ assured her. "I heard what Eva did to you. That wasn't nice."
"Tell me about it," Jo said, sitting up. "I thought she was my friend. I thought you all were. You're a bunch of traitors."
DJ took a deep breath, thinking hard about what to say next. "Throwing the challenge wasn't the smartest move, I'll admit."
"You think?" Jo snapped. "We could have got upper-class. Twice. Instead we're stuck taking out garbage and cleaning port-a-potties. It sucks."
"I agree. It totally sucks," DJ said.
"So why did you do it?" Jo asked.
"Because, we were angry," DJ replied. "And people do silly things when they're angry."
"Angry about what? Dave going home? He was useless!" Jo shouted.
"He wasn't," DJ said in defense. "But…he's not coming back. And you're still here. You're still a part of the district."
"I feel like I'm the only one," Jo sighed.
DJ paused for a moment, "Listen, I'm gonna fetch some water. You can come if you want."
Jo thought about it, "No. I'm gonna stay here."
"Okay. See you later," DJ, and he left.
Jo turned to her side. A single tear fell from her eye.
DJ, 14, British Columbia: Jo is a hard nut to crack. It's a work in progress.
The ten candidates for the force (who hadn't been injured) stood or sat in a clump while Courtney, Harold, Noah and Sky whispered to each other.
Sky, 9, Town Council: The rest of the council members wanted all four greens on the force, but I talked them out of it. I don't want my district to be the police district.
Noah, 12, Town Council: I wasn't too happy with the final decision. Let's face it, everyone except the green district were crap.
"Thank you everyone for your patience," Courtney smiled.
"Just get on with it!" Eva shouted.
"I take back my last statement," Courtney added.
Harold continued, "We have decided that the police will be…Brick, Jasmine, Owen and Duncan."
"Say what?" Duncan said in surprise. "You're serious?"
"My thoughts exactly!" Eva yelled. "You chose the criminal but not me!?"
As soon as she said this, Sky ran off.
"Let it go, Eva. Sky's upset as it is," Geoff whispered to her.
"Wo-hoo! This is awesome!" Owen cheered, pumping his fist. "I'm a cop. Do I get complimentary doughnuts?"
"You could ask the yellow district, but they'd just give you rocks," Noah remarked.
"Hey!" Courtney exclaimed, giving him a nudge.
"Speaking of yellow district, I'm hungry. I'm getting a snack," Duncan said.
"But you still have to do the training session!" Courtney protested.
"Like I said, it runs in the family," Duncan shrugged, and then he walked off.
"Hey, man, wait for me!" Owen exclaimed, running after him.
Noah, 12, Town Council: Sky would only let us pick two green district members, so that left us with Owen, Duncan and Ezekiel. When it comes down to it, you need other people's respect to be a cop, and Ezekiel has exactly zero.
Brick and Jasmine stood in front of a wooden pole in the middle of town, both wearing their new hats
"So what now?" Jasmine asked Brick.
"We're on duty," Brick told her. "We need to act like we're on duty."
"Oh," Jasmine nodded. "What does that mean?"
"We're the police. We need to be on the lookout," Brick said. "Make sure there's no trouble."
"Okay," Jasmine said. "I don't see any trouble."
"Well this isn't the only spot in town," Brick reminded her. "Let's have a look around."
Scott and Rodney almost wet themselves laughing as they watched Tyler rock back and forth in the chicken pen.
"I wanna try something," Scott grinned evilly. He picked up one of the chickens, and dangled it in Tyler's face.
The headband wearing teen let out a shrill scream.
Scott took the chicken away and he stopped.
He moved it back and Tyler screamed.
And away again.
"What a baby," Rodney laughed. "Maybe we should ask Courtney to switch him back."
"No. Miss Courtney is the leader. She knows best," Scott insisted.
"It would be nice if we had some security though," Rodney sighed, jerking his thumb towards Izzy, who was standing on a crate and juggling three chickens.
"Go Izzy!" Sugar cheered as she and Amy sat and watched.
Just then, Brick and Jasmine ran over.
"Gemini police force – at your service!" Brick saluted.
"What are you doing to those chickens?" Jasmine gasped.
"Oh, that's nothing. Yesterday she used them as darts," Scott said dryly.
"H-hi Jasmine," Rodney drooled.
"Izzy," Brick said sternly. "Stop what you're doing right now or there will be consequences!"
"No way soldier boy!" Izzy exclaimed.
"Then you give us no other choice," Brick said. Jasmine kicked open the door and the two of them tackled Izzy to the ground. The chickens went flying and Amy caught one while Sugar caught the other two.
"Let me go! Let me go!" Izzy screamed as she was carried out. Brick held her hands while Jasmine held her legs. "I'm warning you! I know Vietnamese martial arts."
Sugar, 10, Ontario: They just came in and carried her away like she was a deer carcus.
Rodney, 10, British Columbia: Me and Jasmine have a real connection…[shakes his head] What am I gonna do? I'm dating three girls now! I hope none of them find out.
Heather, 15, Ontario: I need one of those gold stars. But there is no way I am doing any dirty work. So I thought, who is dumb enough to do whatever I say?
"Hey, Lindsay," Katie and Sadie greeted as they walked over to Lindsay, who was trying to bash a can against the counter.
"What are you doing?" Sadie asked awkwardly.
"I can't open this jar," Lindsay said. "I really want some strawberries."
"There's a can opener in one of the drawers," Sadie said, dashing off.
Heather smirked to herself as she entered the kitchen.
"Hey girls," she greeted as she walked over to Lindsay and Katie.
"Hi Heather," Katie smiled.
"I've got the can opener," Sadie said, waving it in the air.
"Thank you," Lindsay said. She then proceeded to pick the lid with one of the handles.
"Give me that," Heather said, grabbing the can. "So listen, I thought of a really great plan."
"Ooh, tell us," Katie said excitedly.
"So you guys know about the gold star?"
"Yes," Katie replied.
"Well, I know how we can all get one," Heather said. "We each work really hard, and then we give one person all the credit. That way it looks like one person is working four times as hard."
"Wow, that's really clever," Katie said. "Can Sadie get the star first?"
"Aw, I was going to say you," Sadie squealed.
"Really? That's so sweet," Katie squealed back, and then they both squealed together.
"I will be going first!" Heather shouted, raising her hand. "Since it was my idea. We can decide who goes next when it's someone else's turn."
"Okay," Katie, Sadie and Lindsay said together.
"Good," Heather said. "Now, you three can clean up the kitchen, and I'll do the mess hall."
Heather, 15, Ontario: Too easy.
The sun was setting on Gemini.
Sugar sat on her mattress while Amy chewed out Sammy.
"I've told you over and over again, but you just keep going back to them," Amy said. "Do you know how bad that makes me look? People are gonna think that I'm a traitor to the team."
"Hey, leave her alone," Gwen said, standing up. "She can be friends with whoever she wants."
"Did I ask for your opinion?" Amy snapped.
"I'm sick of you pushing her around," Gwen frowned, hands on her hips.
Sammy's was open-mouthed at this exchange.
"I said mind your own business. I was talking to Samey!"
"Her name is Sammy, not Samey, and it's my business if a team member is being bullied."
"You don't even know her!" Amy shouted. "Once she pulled down my skirt at a school concert."
"No, you did that to me!" Samey shouted back. "Everyone saw my panties. Then you got everyone to call me 'Samey Underwear."
"And people called me that because they thought I was you!"
"You've just proven my point," Gwen said dryly. "Now back off!"
"Make me," Amy said, crossing her arms.
"You don't want to mess with me. Stay away from Sammy." Gwen hissed.
"I don't know any Sammy," Amy smirked.
"And her name isn't Samey. Stop calling her that!"
"Everyone calls her Samey. She's the same as me. Just less popular, and uglier, and…OUCH!"
Sammy had given Amy a hard kick in the shin.
Amy started to cry and ran out.
The five boys all jumped as Amy burst in the door, tears pouring down her eyes.
"Amy, what's the matter?" Cody asked as he and Owen got up.
"Samey…" Amy said, taking shallow breaths. "S-samey…"
"I kicked her," Gwen said, standing in the doorframe.
"Gwen," Owen said in awe.
"She wouldn't stop bugging Sammy, and I sort of lost my temper," Gwen sighed.
"I am too tired for this," Noah groaned, sitting up. "Owen, take her to jail for the night."
"Is that really necessary?" Owen asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Yeah. Pioneers shouldn't hurt each other, or something. I don't know," Noah shrugged, then he settled back down.
Owen sighed, and put on his hat, "Looks like you're going away for the night, Gwen."
"I can take her, Owen," Cody said.
"No!" Gwen yelled. "Alright, let's go."
As he took her out of the cabin, Sammy and Sugar ran out of the other side.
"Where are you taking her?" Sammy asked.
"She's going to jail for the night. Noah's orders," Owen said.
Sammy took a deep breath. "I did it!"
Owen stopped, "What?"
Sammy ran up to him, "I did it. I kicked Amy."
"Sammy, it wasn't your fault…" Gwen said.
"Thanks for taking the blame," Sammy said, before adding in a lower tone. "But I want to be away from Amy."
"Are you sure? You know Izzy's in jail, right?"
Sammy nodded her head.
"Okay," Gwen said. "Owen, Sammy did it. I was just covering for her."
"That I did not see coming," Owen said. "Samey, looks you're coming with me instead."
"It's Sammy," Gwen corrected.
"Are you sure?" Owen asked in confusion. "Never mind."
"See you in the morning," Gwen said to Sammy as she was led off.
And that's another chapter. Halfway through the weekly updates. Like I said, don't expect anything soon after episode 5 is posted.
As always, fav and follow if you haven't already, review whatever your opinion and I will see you next time ;)
