Tohru exited the kitchen with a tray of food prepared for the Sohma's and a smile on her face as she peered down at the leek soup she had prepared for Yuki and Shigure and the miso soup and rice for Kyo. She could only hope that they would be up to eating, she knew the dangers of malnourishment and dehydration, definitely when sick in bed. She hummed quietly to herself on the way to Yuki's room. She pushed the door open with her foot and peeked inside to see if he was awake. He was propped up against the wall a pillow behind his back, one leg dangling off the bed, and a book in his lap.

He was still flushed and he was still sweating a bit. Tohru frowned. He really should be resting. She walked inside and smiled down at him as he looked up. "How are you feeling?". Yuki smiled and looked down. "I feel a little tired but I couldn't seem to fall asleep". He responded. Tohru nodded with a frown before laying his meal on the bedside. "I made you some leech soup to help you feel better". Yuki nodded laying the book to the side. " I wasn't sure if you were up to eating or if you could keep it down so I made sure to keep it simple". "Thank you, Ms. Honda". He paused for a minute as if in thought before he reached for the bowl and stirred the soup with his spoon.

Tohru smiled and got up to head to the other's rooms to deliver their meals until Yuki stopped her.

"Wait...Ms. Honda. how's um Kyo? he was out there in the rain longer than I was".Tohru stared back surprised but smiled. "I mean he always pushes himself and doesn't take proper care of himself when he's sick or injured dumb cat". She didn't realize how much Yuki cared about Kyo, they fought so much she thought they both hated each other so it meant a lot to her that she was wrong. Maybe deep inside Kyo cared about Yuki too. "I haven't seen him since this morning but it seemed like he only had a cold, his fever wasn't high and he just seemed mostly tired".Yuki nodded." That's good. Keep an eye on him okay? I don't want him pushing himself and getting sicker". Tohru's smile grew. "Don't worry I'll make sure he gets better". "thank you". Tohru nodded.

She wasn't surprised that Shigure wasn't all that hungry but she left the soup on his nightstand in case something changes. She was happy to know that he would try.

"Kyo!". She called. She had looked in Kyo's room but he wasn't there so she had searched around the house but couldn't find him anywhere. She laid the tray down and started off to search on the roof until she heard the door open she peeked out hoping it was Kyo.

By the time she retrieved the tray and walked into the living room, Kyo was lying down on the couch with an arm over his eyes.

"Kyo?", she called hesitantly. She walked closer and laid the tray down on the table before turning back to Kyo. He looked up at her but didn't respond. She watched silently as he closed his eyes and laid his arm against his stomach.

"I made you some miso soup and rice if you're hungry".

She kneeled beside his head and brushed his hair out of the way and felt his forehead. ' He's getting worse'. She thought sadly feeling his clammy warm forehead. He propped himself up on the edge of the couch and reached over for the soup. She could tell he was not feeling well but she knew he wouldn't ask her for anything. Kyo was never one to ask for help.

He ate his food slowly with Tohru sitting worriedly beside him unsure of what to do to help." How are you feeling? do you need anything?". He shook his head laying the unfinished bowl down and curled up on the couch." I'm fine Tohru, you should focus on the others". She could tell he was lying but she didn't want to annoy him and yet she knew she couldn't risk him getting worse. "I could get you some medicine ", she offered. Kyo groaned opening his eyes." Tohru I'll be fine, you should focus on the others their more important than me".

"That's not true, your very important and I care a lot about you and I don't want to see you getting worse".She suddenly interrupted her voice rising with every word as her emotions got the best of her, she moved closer to Kyo. "Kyo please don't say things like that. I don't want you to die or to think so little of yourself because you're really important to me", She finished her cheeks growing red in embarrassment at having said that out loud.

Kyo sat there wide-eyed a blush spreading over his cheeks at her words. He looked down and nodded. She smiled. She laid a hand on his forehead and frowned. He seemed to have gotten a little worse.

"How...how are the others?", he whispered.

" Shigure has food poisoning so he's not feeling so good and hasn't been able to keep things down but I'm sure he should be fine tomorrow. I'm not sure but I think Yuki might just be sick from a bad cold and fever".

Kyo stayed quiet for a moment before nodding. "Just make sure he eats even if you have to shove it down his throat, he's skinny as it is". He looked away trying to hide the worry in his eyes.

Tohru couldn't help but chuckle. "I will, I promise". She smiled warmly at him before standing up. "Are you sure you don't need anything?", she asked one more time not happy to leave him alone when he was running a fever. Kyo signed before looking up at her with that warm smile that seemed to make her heartbeat abnormally. She wasn't sure what it was but his smile always took her by surprise, it was also contagious. She rarely ever see it so whenever she does she makes sure to savor it hoping that one day she could be able to keep it there and break the curse. She wanted to see all of their smiles, she wanted them to finally be free and happy.

"I'll be okay, I just need to sleep it off. Don't push yourself too hard and take a break. We can't have you getting sick too, we'll be okay alone for a while".

Tohru considered his words. She knew he had a point and if she was being honest she was kinda tired so she agreed reluctantly and make her way out to the porch leaving Kyo to sleep on the couch. She sat down and stared up at the stars for a moment in thought, her mind drifting to her childhood back when her father was still alive. Those memories have remained locked up refusing to open until that moment. She had always refused to think or mention her father after his death. She was young but she knew how much it had hurt her mother, and remembered how distant she had become. Seeming to forget all about her daughter's existence too wrapped up in her grief. Despite that, she remembered not wanting to bother her even though she felt so alone and sad. She kept her distance trying her best to care for herself until one day her mother seemed to break out of her trance. Her mother apologizing repeatedly as she hugged her close to her chest with tears streaming down her pale face. It was at that moment that Tohru decided to leave the memory of her father behind and when she started to fear any illness taking another loved one away.

She stood up and checked on the others before heading to bed. She would call Hatori and pray that he would be able to come over soon but right now she would do everything she could.

The next day arrived and Tohru made sure to wake up a little bit earlier than usual. She's been keeping track of all their conditions and symptoms so that she knew if they were improving or deteriorating. She visited Yuki first and so far his fever has been getting better, casually it would rise to her dismay but she would quickly battle the rising fever with a cold washcloth and some antibiotics she found in the bathroom cabinet. However, they soon ran out after his fever spiked for the third time that day. Shigure had woken up with a small stomach ache but hadn't felt the need to vomit so Tohru had convinced the older man to eat some soup which he seemed to be able to keep down.

She had hoped that meant he was getting better but the obvious vomit now stinking up the hallway was enough for her to realize she had been wrong. After about ten minutes he started to say something before his face turned that ugly green color and he abruptly stood up with a hand over his mouth and dashed for the bathroom. He, unfortunately, didn't make it time before his stomach decided it was time to relieve itself from the little food he had managed to keep down.

Kyo was just making his way downstairs to get some milk when Shigure busted out of the room in an attempt to get to the bathroom before suddenly freezing halfway there. He wasn't standing too far away when the older man suddenly grew more green and vomited all over the floor. Kyo recoiled in disgust suddenly feeling nauseous himself. He backed up and had to lean a hand on the wall when he suddenly became dizzy. It was at that moment when Tohru rushed towards them. Kyo could barely make out the several quiet apologies as his head throbbed painfully. His hearing was going in and out and his vision was getting blurry so much so that he didn't even notice Shigure calling his name or Tohru approach him. He slightly jumped when he felt someone touch his shoulder. "'y...Kyo?". He blinked several times to clear his vision before turning to look at Tohru who was looking back at him with concern. "Are you all right?". Shigure suddenly asked from right in front of him?.'When did he?'. "Kyo?". He shook himself out of his thoughts before nodding wincing as the motion seemed to further aggravate his growing headache.

"I'm okay...just a headache". Technically it wasn't a lie.

Tohru frowned but nodded helping Kyo up. She watched as Kyo slowly made his way back to his room leaning against the wall for support. She wanted to help but Kyo reassured her that he was fine and probably should focus on cleaning the vomit up. She reluctantly agreed and grabbed the mop while Shigure went back to his room to lay down. Shigure had made six other trips to the bathroom that day, Yuki had several awful coughing fits and well Kyo had a bad headache his fever having thankfully went down sometime that morning.

She called Hatori again to check up on Momijii and to see if he could pay a visit. There was no change.

She breathed a heavy sigh as she placed the phone down. She stared down at the floor in thought. She was worried and afraid. She wondered if these kinds of illnesses normally lasted this long and were afraid she wasn't doing what she needed to do to help them. Hatori had reassured her she was but she just couldn't push that feeling away. She knew she couldn't doubt herself and give up, not when the others needed her beside it was only the second day.

She was getting ready for bed when she decided to check up on the others before she went to bed. A part of her felt guilty like she should stay by their sides throughout the night. Shigure and Yuki were fast asleep but Kyo was nowhere to be seen. She called out his name but she got no response." Oh no! he didn't leave the house...did he?". she rushed to grab a coat and made her way out the door intending to search the woods when she heard a snort from above. She turned and looked up and much to her surprise there he was staring down at her with a tired expression. He was lying down on the ceiling with his arms behind his head with no jacket or shoes. " What are you doing up there?", she asked as he slid down.

Once he was on the ground in front of her he smiled. "I wanted some air so I came out here but I guess I fell asleep", he responded with a yawn. His voice quiet and strained. Tohru leaned forward and felt his forehead. "Your fever is back". He closed his eyes and let out a deep sigh but didn't respond. He started to head back into the house when Tohru spoke up. "Kyo...", she started when he suddenly snapped. "Just leave me alone! I don't want your help!". She stepped back with a frown her hand reaching out but not daring to move any closer. She was at a loss of what to do.

He winced feeling even worse now for snapping at her like that. Just yesterday didn't he agree to let her help him yet here he was yelling at her when all she wanted was to help him. God, why did he always do this?. He slowly raised two fingers to rub at his temples, damn this fucking headache felt like it was splitting his head open. "Look Tohru I didn't mean to snap at you but please just leave me alone right now". He was angry at himself for yelling at her but he didn't feel like being around anyone right now. Tohru withered a bit but she couldn't just back down when he was sick. She wanted to help and she promised Yuki she would care for him and not leave him alone.

"But...Kyo. I promised to take care of all of you and I intend to keep that promise, I can't just leave you alone when you're so sick. Please let me help you, I know I'm not a nurse and if you didn't like how I was yesterday then please give me a chance to improve. Kyo I care about you a lot so please let me help you, you don't have to deal with this alone".

Kyo was taken aback by the sudden determination and passion in her tearful eyes. It was his fault she was so close to tears. He was the idiot that got himself in this predicament and yelled at her when she was only trying to help. He hated himself for that. He walked up to her and placed his hand on top of her head. "Fine, let's go inside its getting cold". He turned away and started to make his way inside when he had to stop to catch himself In the doorway. He squeezed his eyes shut and grabbed his head. It felt like his head was going to explode as it pounded away at his skull. A choked whimper escaped his lips without his permission, on a normal occasion he would be disgusted or embarrassed but right now at that very moment, he was far in too much pain to give a shit. Tohru at some point had rushed to his side. He felt her grab his hand, wrapping the other around his shoulder and helped him to the couch. Where he all but collapsed. He wasn't sure if she was still there but he took that time to try to lay down and recompose himself.

When she returned she held a glass of water and some Advil. He didn't hesitate to grab it and swallow it down in one gulp. Letting out a heavy sigh he quietly thanked her before laying back down. She smiled and leaned forward to rub his temples gently for him as he drifted off to sleep, his body slowly sinking further into the cushions as his body relaxed at her gentle touches. Once she was sure he was asleep she kissed his warm forehead before moving to head to bed.
