Chapter 18

Han was really happy so far that he and Chewie were able to fly through the rather insecure outer systems near the territory of the New Republic on the way to Corellia. In nearly one hour they were entering a system where some guerrilla tie fighters had attacked a lot of freighters that had been trying to cross the former territory of the Galactic Empire. Han surely wasn't afraid of a confrontation with Imperial fighters but the fact, that those fighters could probably now strike out of nowhere got him a little bit worried because he surely hated any surprises.

Meanwhile at a little command station behind a moon in the nearby Trias System some Imperial personnel was pretty busy with working on their respective work stations and one Imperial Lt. was on the way to the little office of his commanding officer at the back of the bridge of the little space station with a little notepad in his hands. Lt. Mark Jacobs was on the way to Captain Weller, his commanding officer with some good news in tow: A rebel freighter was on the way into the Trias System, probably loaded with military supplies for the rebels in the nearby Corellia System. Captain Weller would really happy to hear that the newest project initiated by the great Admiral Thrawn himself was working as good as expected. Jacobs finally entered the office of Captain Weller and said: " The sensor grid in the Petro System has spotted a Rebel Freighter on the way to the third planet of the system right now, probably with military supplies for that Rebel Scum on board should we kept some fighters ready to intercept it?" When Jacobs had finally handed the little notepad with the coordinates on them, Captain Weller had a short look at the set of coordinates before he finally answered: "Not yet Lt. continue to monitor the movement of the freighter closely and put some TIE Fighters on stand-by so that they can move in to attack when they reach our monitor post in the Trias System."

"I'll get right to it Sir." Lt. Jacobs answered saluted shortly before he finally left the office of the Commanding Officer of the Monitor Station in the Trias System. Meanwhile back at the Jedi Training Center on Yavin IV, Padme, Jedi Master Ralkitta and her two children were still sitting together in Luke's personal quarters and Padme couldn't help but ask herself if anyone of her family had survived the Galactic War. She had been a member of the opposition against the big clone army, also had she watched shortly after the start of the war how the Republic that she had served for so long was slowly but surely turned into a dictatorship by Chancellor Palpatine.

Padme then asked her daughter to distract herself from this negative thought: "So I see that your brother has become a Jedi Knight just like his father, did you get into politics after the teachings from Bail?" The former Senator had asked her long-time friend Bail Organa not only to look after her daughter but only take her onto his wing considering the big field of politics. Leia got a sad look on her face as she was reminded once again of the tragic death of her father figure through all this years, where she didn't know who her father and her mother really were. Some later she would only remember some fragments of how her mother was like: beautiful but also kind of sad.

"Yes I'm actually a member of the Provisional Council of the New Republic and Mon Mothma is the current Supreme Chancellor." Of course her mother did deserve to know what had happened to Bail but she just couldn't bring herself right now to say it, because the moment where she watched her home world Aldeeran explodes as it was destroyed by the Death Star was so brutal that she wanted to block it out of her mind as good as possible.

She just felt like now wasn't the right moment to say it and no matter how much time she would decide to take with revealing that thing to her mother, Leia did know that one thing for sure: It would surely be not an easy thing to say because of the fact that she knew from Bail personally how close the two of them had been as friends and colleagues during the time of the Old Republic, especially during the Clone Wars Era that lead directly into the great Galactic War where he and her mother had been members of the opposition against the big clone army.

Of course Luke could sense the inner conflict of his sister; he somehow wished that he could ease her emotional pain but this one moment was still practically burned into her mind: Helplessly watching the explosion of Aldeeran, knowing that her replacement Parents were dying a horrible death and there was absolutely nothing that she was able to do to prevent it from happening. *We will tell her together about Bail when you feel ready to do so.* Luke said over the special force connection that he had set up with his sister over the years and as Padme was meanwhile busy with her own thoughts for the moment she suddenly heard an all too familiar voice in her head: Oh my dear Angel, I really wish that things would have went down totally different between us then we've could maybe live a happy family life now instead of being separated forever. But please do me one favor: Don't think about the past anymore, enjoy the time that you can have with the twins because they at least deserve to have their real mother that loves them in this still dangerous world. The former Queen and Senator was kind of amazed because of what had just went down, she really wasn't aware that she also had the ability to initiate a connection with that all mighty thing called the force but it seemed like that the force sensibility truly lay in the Skywalker Family Blood.
