10 years later….

Ψ Percy's P.O.V Ψ

"Percy, do you know where the candles are?" Annabeth asked me as I blew up balloons once again for the twins birthday tomorrow.

"Yes, they're in the bottom draw, to the left of the sink" I replied, Annabeth had a checklist, as she had every year, since the twins started requesting themed parties. It started when they were four years old, that year they had wanted a finding nemo themed party. When they were five it was owls. Six was when it became difficult, Grace wanted a princess party and Charlie wanted knights of the round table – of course my brilliant wife came up with a solution that meant both happened simultaneously but hence the need for the checklists.

Tomorrow was Eleven and they'd actually managed to agree on a theme, Disney, superheroes and villains, and it was fancy dress. They came to the agreement after Annabeth and I had our third child, James Lucas Jackson, just over a year ago.

We call him JJ for short and when watching The Incredibles after their last birthday they started calling him Jack-Jack. Guess what the Jackson family will be wearing tomorrow, you guessed it! Red incredible suits made by our very own Edna Mode,(who doubles as mom), Annabeth. There's not a costume my wife can't make, it's incredible really (pun intended) – I've told her she'd make a fortune selling them online if she wanted to, but she only wants to make them for the kids and of course we join in as well.

James was a bit of a surprise; Mom had had the twins for a weekend sleepover, so Annabeth and I could have a weekend away before the twins broke up from school from the summer. A month later we found out we were expecting again, we were a little relieved to find out there was only one baby this time around though. We wouldn't change the twins for anything in the world but the strain they'd put on Annabeth's body, I didn't want her to go through that again. Fortunately, the whole pregnancy was smooth sailing, and the twins are obsessed with their little brother always wanting to help feed him or give him cuddles. It's been really great to see.

Grace looks just like her mother did at a younger age except for the fact her curls are black, and her eyes are sea green. Charlie looks just like I did except his messy hair is blonde and his eyes are the same startling grey as his mothers. James is more of a combination, he has blonde curls and sea green eyes, but other than his eyes I think he looks more like Annabeth and she thinks he looks more like me, I guess we'll find out as he grows up.

"How are we doing on the checklist?" I asked Annabeth.

"I think we have everything ready, was it really necessary for the giant inflatable fortress complete with moat and ball pit?" She asked.

"Yes!" I said "What else will they defend? Plus, landing in the ball pit if safer than grass!"

Annabeth rolled her eyes at me, like she always did when she thought I was being ridiculous, but she loved me in spite of it.

I wrapped my arms around her waist pulling her to me, her back up against my chest, my chin resting on her shoulder.

"Can you believe," she whispered to me as she placed her hands over mine. "That they are nearly as old as we were when we first met?"

"It's almost unbelievable, it feels like a life time ago." I replied.

"Would you change anything?" She asked.

"No, if changing one thing meant our lives didn't end up like this, with three amazing kids, no. Would you?"

"No, I have everything I've ever wanted and more right here" She said turning in my arms and giving me a chaste kiss.

Δ Annabeth's P.O.V Δ

I watched as Grace and Charlie as they took turns holding a giggling James while 'defending' the inflatable fortress with their friends, it really warmed my heart.

There were 21kids in all, and they were facing off against the dads' who were outnumbered almost 2:1.

In attendance were the five Zhang children, Emily, Marie, Nic, Sam and Jace, the two Rodriguez children, Selina and Beck, the three Di Solace-Angelo children, Bianca, Michael and Chase, the two Valdez children, Ace and Zoe, Malcolm and Pipers little Boy, Tom, Katie and Travis' daughter, Lily, Estelle, and then my three nephews, Bobby's son, Patrick, and Mathews twin sons, Dominic and Jacob. So that Estelle, Patrick, Dominic and Jacob could attend the kids had a separate celebration with their other camp friends, my nephews didn't know about our world and it was safer for them that way. It meant we missed hanging out with Grover, Juniper, Tyson and Ella and their children but they understood why and when the twins were younger, we'd just held two parties now they're happy to have one party at home and one at camp.

"I don't know how you do it" Piper said to me.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"You throw these extravagant parties, while taking care of three kids and you still find time to make your kick-ass costumes." She told me.

"Please, the twins spend the summer at camp now, they have since they were seven, so I've had one child to look after and the party isn't that extravagant, it's a bunch of over grown men trying, and failing, to take an inflatable fortress from their kids and some food, which Percy made." I told her.

"If you say so" she said, like she knew something I didn't, which bugged me as I hated not knowing things.

"How's Tom getting on? Have you and Malcolm decided when you're going to start letting him go to camp?" I asked.

"Tom is good, in many ways he's just like Malcolm, he's so smart , even at six –"

"You're not exactly stupid" I reminded her, and she smiled at me.

"We were thinking we'd follow your example and let him attend next summer when he's seven. We told him last week, he's so excited." She smiled.

"I bet, Malcolm also mentioned something about glowing Hedgehogs?" I asked.

"It's an old Cherokee legend about the stars." She told me and I remembered her telling me briefly about it many years ago.

"I think you've told me that before" I noted, and she nodded.

"Tom wasn't too fussed, but I want him to know his heritage."

"As he should" I smiled at my friend as we joined the other moms and Thalia who were laughing at something.

"What's so funny?" Piper asked.

"Frank tried to sneak past the kids by turning into a guinea pig, but it seemed to distract Percy to a point where Grace and Charlie manged to unbalance him with water from the moat and he fell in. " Hazel told us, and Piper and I erupted into laughter as well.

Our friends didn't know about Percy turning into a guinea pig all those years ago, but the image that flash through my mind had me in stitches long after the others had stopped laughing.

"What's so funny?" Percy asked, joining us after his dip in the 'moat'.

"I don't know, Hazel was telling us about Frank turning into a guinea pig distracting you, and Annabeth's not stopped laughing."

Percy gave me a look which said 'really?' I eventually got myself back under control and smiled at him.

"Would you like some celery Percy?" I asked innocently.

"Oh, think you're being funny, do you?" He asked.

"Yep" I said and took off for the far side of the garden, Percy chasing after me, it felt like we were sixteen again.

After cake, the older children, Grace, Charlie, Emily, Marie, Nic, Selina, Beck, Bianca and Lily headed back to camp; Estelle, Patrick, Dominic and Jacob headed back to their respective homes with their families, and our friends stayed with the younger children at ours. We set up Tangled in the theatre room for the kids to watch, Sam, Jace, Tom, Michael, Chase, Ace and Zoe sat with popcorn in a make shift blanket fort, that Percy had set up the night before. James being the youngest was having an afternoon nap.

"So, are you going to explain what that was all about with the celery comment earlier?" Hazel asked, I laughed, and Percy frowned.

"Would you like to do the honours Seaweed Brain?" I asked, we were all sat in the Kitchen so we could keep an eye on the kids in the next room.

Ψ Percy's P.O.V Ψ

I told our friends about Circe's island from the summer we'd travelled through the sea of monsters. It was humiliating and our friends all laughed but it was worth it when my wife whispered in my ear, "You made a cute guinea pig" just liked she told me all those years ago in the maze.

"I can't believe you never told me that before" Thalia said trying to control her laughter.

"I promised Percy I wouldn't mention it" She said.

"Even then, you still got dibs huh?" Thalia teased me.

"Of course," I answered, "Didn't call her Wise Girl for nothing you know." I teased back.

"What are you two on about?" Annabeth asked, already fully aware of the fight Thalia and I had all those years ago. Nico answered her.

"Remember that Winter, that you were kidnapped? Percy and Thalia had a huge fight in the woods after losing capture the flag to the hunters. They didn't know it then, but it was about you." He said.

"Aww guys, you didn't have to fight over me" Annabeth teased, and our friends laughed.

We reminisced about our quests and adventures from the past, it felt like a completely other life that we were talking about, and if I hadn't lived it, I probably would have thought that it was a tale of fiction.

Now our kids would be heading out on quests to help save the world and we could only hope that we'd prepared them well enough to do that. Although, with the brains they both had inherited from Annabeth, and their powers over water, that they had inherited from me, I didn't doubt that they would make it through anything.

I remembered when we first found out the twins had water powers, they had been six, Grace had shown signs first and then Charlie about a fortnight later. Annabeth had been a little down thinking that neither had inherited her brains. Turns out both had those as well, it made for a challenging few years, but they were totally worth it. And, as stated earlier, I wouldn't change a thing.

"Hey Percy, what would you say your greatest adventure was?" Leo asked. I looked at my wife and I immediately knew the answer.

"Oh no, if it's so soppy romantic thing, do not answer that." Thalia said noticing the eye contact between me and Annabeth.

"Sorry Leo, you heard the lady." I said, laughing along with all of our friends.

Ξ Piper's P.O.V Ξ

Tom really enjoyed the party today at Annabeth and Percy's. He'd gone as Archimedes from the Sword in the Stone. Annabeth and Malcolm had been thrilled because essentially, he had dressed up as an owl. Let's just say Malcolm had had a really proud dad moment, it was really heart-warming.

As I watched Malcolm kiss him good night after reading him his fifth story, I looked back on the last six years. The day he was born was simultaneously the best and the most terrifying day of my life. Fortunately, Annabeth had been with me every step of the way as had Malcolm. The thing they don't tell you about pregnancy, is how much the birth is going to hurt, and trust me you'll never feel another pain like it, but when your baby gets placed in your arms it's almost completely forgotten.

Tom put me through 23 hours of labour and painful contractions before I could start to push. But, when I held him in my arms for the first time, I felt something in my heart that I'd never felt before, a feeling of being complete. As that perfect little hand closed around mine for the first time, none of that had mattered.

Watching him grow up has been the most magical thing I have ever experienced, as well as thew most terrifying. Finding out what he likes and what he doesn't like in all aspects of life, food, books, films, arts, sports and also seeing who he looks like had all been magical. The terrifying parts were his first fall, when he lost his first tooth, his first day of school, my first day back at work. And I had no doubt that his first summer at camp would be just as terrifying especially with the world we live in in, but like my dad said, I had to let him grow up at his own pace. And I didn't want to keep him from the world he belonged in, even if that meant trusting him to stay safe.

Annabeth and I had discussed that in length before the twins went to camp for their first summer, be she and Percy had prepared the twins so well, and they were always learning new skills and strategies. Malcolm and I would just have to do the same for Tom. Sometimes being a parent was more terrifying than facing the likes of Gaia but, it was all about trusting that we had taught our son what he needed to know and trusting him to put that knowledge to use. I knew as a grandson of Athena; he'd always put that knowledge to use and for that I was grateful.

Ξ Thalia's P.O.V Ξ

Looking at all the kids lives that I got to be involved in because of my friends really warmed my heart.

Grace, who looked like a little Annabeth but with Percy's hair and eye colours, she was wicked smart and could control water too. It was almost like having that younger Annabeth back sometimes.

Charlie, who looked like a little Percy but with Annabeth's hair and eye colours, he was also wicked smart and had control of water, a little more so than Grace. It was like having a smart Percy which was scary in itself.

James, who was a perfect mix of both in looks, Annabeth's curly blonde locks and Percy's sea green eyes. I wondered who he would take after in the godly power aspect, but he'll probably take after both like his siblings.

Both twins had Percy's sense of loyalty and I wondered whether James would have Annabeth's pride, I guess only time would tell.

Emily Zhang, who looked so much like Hazel apart from the shape and colour of her eyes, they were Frank's. She'd inherited the Pylos family gift. She took after he mom in many ways; she had the same power over precious metals, and a very similar personality.

Marie Zhang, who was the double of Hazel, had the gift of Pylos and took after Frank in that she'd, inherited war strategy from the Mars line. She was just like Frank though personality wise as well.

Nico Zhang, who preferred to be called Nic, looked like a mini Frank. He also bore the gift of Pylos and even though he was of Roman decent well in regards to Hades anyway he had inherited control of Hell fire and skeletons from the Hades line rather than Pluto. It had been a surprise but it made him a lot like Nico di Angelo and I think Nico liked that his nephew who was named after him had the same powers as him.

Samantha Zhang, who preferred to be called Sam, was almost a carbon copy of her older sister Emily. She like her other siblings held the gift of Pylos but had also inherited the war strategy from the Mars line.

Jason Zhang, the youngest of the Zhang's, who preferred to be called Jace, was named after my brother. So far the only power we knew that he had was the family gift from Pylos, but I had no doubt he was destined for great things. So far he was like a mini Frank in personality, fortunately having four siblings meant he wasn't given the opportunity to be as shy as Frank said he was at that age.

The Zhang's were a force to be reckoned with I'd seen the old siblings take part in war games and capture the flag their shape shifting power made them very hard to beat, without their other gifts.

Selina and Beck Rodriguez, both are nothing like the original Selina and Beckendorf, but both brilliant representations of their parents. Selina looks like a female Chris but with Clarisse's hair, and she has Clarisse's personality although she doesn't swirly new comers to camp like her mother did way back when. Beck looks more like Clarisse but with Chris' hair and personality.

Ace and Zoe Valdez, Ace had been Leo's name choice when their son was born, Zoe had been Calypso's after her sister and my friend. Ironically though Ace was more like Calypso although he looked like Leo's double. Zoe looked so much like Calypso and in a way Zoe herself, but she had all of Leo's ADHD and also had inherited his fire power.

Thomas Pace, who preferred Tom, looked the spit of Malcolm and had Athena's blessing in the brains department, but he had a lot of Piper's personality too. That boy could be very persuasive when he wanted to be, but I don't think it was charm speak necessarily. Though a child or love and logic, was going to be a force to be reckoned with in his own right.

Lily Stoll, who I didn't have much to do with, looked just liked her mother, but acted just like her father. I got the impression her and Travis together were a handful although Katie never said anything to prove or disprove that theory.

The last three legacies, whose lives I got to be a part of, were the three Di Solace-Angelo children. In a way I felt closer to these three than the others because my eyes had been used to help create them even if my DNA had not. I won't bore you with the details but essentially Will and Nico got married and wanted to start a family of their own. They were looking at egg donors and Will had an idea how with his father's help they might be able to use both their DNA's and instead of one of theirs and the egg donors. Long story short they stripped my DNA out of the egg and replaced it with Will's and then used Nico's to complete the sequencing needed for the baby to have a full set of chromosomes.

I had volunteered my eggs as I wouldn't have a use for them with eternal maiden hood and Annabeth had carried all three children to term and birthed them. Much to Percy's dismay after the incident with the twin's, however, they only did one egg at a time to guarantee that there wasn't too much strain on Annabeth's body.

The eldest child, Bianca looked exactly like Nico's elder sister, so much that they couldn't really have called her anything else. But, she had Will's sunny disposition and was a stellar healer. Next was Michael who looked more like Will, he was named after Will's brother who had fallen in the battle of Manhattan, they had been really close. He had Nico's shadow travel abilities and reminded me a lot of the ten-year-old Nico I had met all those years ago.

And last and by no means least was Chase, he was named after Annabeth, he had Nico's dark hair but Will's eyes. He was the youngest and I looked forward to seeing what powers he possessed.

Then there were the baby goats, well technically satyrs of course, but I called Grover Goat-boy for so long now baby goats felt right. There was Clover, Jasmine and Ferdinand and they were the sweetest little satyrs. Always keeping Grover on his toes though, which, is rather entertaining.

I had made myself a promise, that when they went out on their quests because soon some of them would, that I would do what I could to keep them safe if I crossed paths with them. I knew they had to find their own way, but some of our past adventures would have been so much easier if we had someone we knew looking out for us directly. That's not to say we didn't receive help because we did, but most of the time we set off, with no idea of how we were going to get to where we needed to go, never mind how we were going to survive, that was always more of an if. I wanted to try and help make it more of a certainty, not that I would tell any of them that but, being practically immortal meant I would lose all the people I cared about one day and I wanted to keep them all as safe as I could for as long as I could.

Ψ Percy's P.O.V Ψ

Annabeth and I sat downstairs with the baby monitor on after all of our friends and their kids had gone home. James had been asleep for almost an hour now which is a new record as of late as he'd been teething recently. I had not missed teething and I couldn't wait for it to be finished again.

"Perce?" Annabeth asked me.

"Yes?" I replied.

"What were you going to say your greatest adventure was earlier?" She asked me.

"My greatest adventure has always been and always will be, you, Annabeth" I replied looking at my beautiful wife.

"Aww, right back at you, Seaweed Brain, I love you."

"I love you too, Wise Girl" I replied before kissing her.

"Do you worry about the twins going on a quest next summer?" Annabeth asked me.

"Yeah, of course I do, but we've taught them everything we can and they're so strong, they have the best parts of us power wise. We have to trust they'll be able to handle it, just like we did when we were twelve." I replied, and it utterly terrified me, the thought of letting my children go off into harm's way, but I knew we couldn't stop them from being who they are.

"You're right" She said.

"Sorry? What was that?" I teased, "Say it again for me"

"I said you're right." She said again rolling her eyes at me in that way that meant she thought I was being endearing which always made me smile. "I wonder what James will inherit from us" she said.

"If I had to guess, your mom will bless his brains, like she has all of her grandchildren so far and dad not wanting to be left out or beaten by your mom in any way will also bless him in some way too. So, he'll probably have the same gifts as the twins."

"Maybe, but your dad could give him many gifts, water power, storms, earth shaking, even shape shifting." She said.

"I hope he doesn't get shape shifting, could you imagine the fights we'd get? Mom! Grandpa loves James more because he gave him better powers! Mom! Grandpa loves the twins more because I can't breathe underwater unless I'm a fish!" I imitated our children as I complained to her about power problems.

"Gods! I think I'll pray to your dad in the morning and request a fair blessing like he gave the twins otherwise you'll be hearing, 'be thankful you have any powers at all' a lot!" she exclaimed.

"You know you have powers right?" I asked, "Just because you can't see the way they manifest like you do mine with water doesn't mean they aren't there." I said.

"I know, Seaweed Brain, but as a kid it's not that easy to remember that super smarts and strategies are a power when the boy your like has super cool water powers that heal him, for example." She said to me seriously.

"But that super cool water power would have gotten me killed had I have had to follow The Mark of Athena under Rome. It was your smarts that defeated her; do you know how intimidating it is to be dating the smartest girl you've ever met?"

"You were intimidated by me?" She asked.

"No, I was always intimidated by the idea that I wasn't enough for you" I replied.

"You know you really do have kelp for brains if you thought that, you've always been too good for me." She replied.

"No I haven't, why would you think that?" I asked.

"Because you've always been the kindest person I've ever met, you helped me mend the rift with my family and you always challenged me in ways I didn't think of most of the time you were the one with the solution, not me." She said.

"You're giving me too much credit. You always had the solutions; I usually created the problem you had to solve."

"Let's agree to disagree on that point then." She said.

"We might have too" I replied smiling, revelling in that fact that she'd always thought I was smarted than others thought I was, she always believed in me.

Annabeth and I continued to reflect on the 'good old days' while our kids slept in their beds whether that was in our home or in cabin thirty six, the legacies cabin. While we strolled down memory lane I couldn't help thinking that my mom was right when she named me Perseus all those years ago. I got my happy ending and it was amazing, and I couldn't wait to see how the next chapter of it unfolded with my beautiful wife and our beautiful children. Maybe it was more of a happy beginning than an ending, but either way my mom was right, I had my happy ending.
