Chapter 33
It was obvious that Ruwee Naberrie was still at a loss of words, slowly but surely beginning to realize that this whole thing wasn't a dream liked he had feared at first it to be but indeed the reality and truly something that could only described with one word in the best way: A miracle that he had wished for to happen, since that day where he supposedly escorted the dead body of his daughter to her last resting place. It took quite a while but then but then he found the strength to speak again: "It's a big surprise but surely a pleasant one to know that you haven birth to these two wonderful children and I'm surely happy to welcome you both into the big Naberrie Family." At that very moment Padme realized that she had failed to introduce her children and so she said after taking one deep breath: "Mom and Dad these are Luke and Leia and I'm happy to be back here after all those years."
Jobal and Ruwee smiled warmly at the twins and then Jobal said: "I can't wait to tell Sola about all of this once she comes back and I know for sure that she will be so happy to see you again." Sola had noticed the special way that Anakin had looked at her younger sister, even if didn't want to admit it at that time she truly had been right the whole time: Anakin saw her as more as a friend but she didn't want to admit that to herself at that time. Seeing Sola and her children Ryoo and Pooja would so special, she knew already that Sola would be shocked to see her and she couldn't blame anybody for looking at her with so much disbelieve in her eyes, because after all they all had thought that they had lost her forever on the day of her memorial.
She was totally lost in thought for quite some time before she decided to ask that one question that she had been so afraid of asking since Master Ralkitta had revived her from her numerous years in stasis: How did Anakin die? It was indeed painful enough to know that some of people that she had known for such a long time had been long gone, but on the other hand that one question still remained on her mind even if she was aware what the answer might to do her on an emotional level and so she took one deep breath and said: "How did your father die? I know he's dead because Master Ralkitta told me after he woke me up out of the stasis and because I was so busy with trying to understand why I had been chosen, I didn't want to know how it exactly happen at that point."
Of course Luke was very well aware of the fact how much of a big burden the fate of Anakin still was to her especially when she had been the one that had witnessed the transformation of the young Jedi to the Sith Lord Darth Vader and because of that he really had to choose his words wisely.
"He sacrificed himself for me during the fight against the Emperor and during that short talk we had on board the Death Star I could sense that there indeed was some good left inside of the ruthless Sith Lord Darth Vader."
"So I was right…there was indeed some good left inside of him." A small smile appeared on her face and she was so glad that he had realized the error in his ways before it was too late and turned against Palpatine to save his own flesh and blood. She couldn't but think about that moment again, where she spoke those last words to Obi Wan many years ago when they had seen each other for the last time and it still was a mystery to her how she could have known that in the first place. Because she was just an ordinary human being not a Jedi just like Anakin, Obi Wan where and like Anakin were before he let himself be manipulated by an evil force to follow the wrong path. She pushed that thought away for now and said: "Luke is a Jedi Knight just like his father was, while Leia is a member of the newly formed government of the New Republic on Coruscant and I'm very proud of you."
There was some silence for a few minutes between them before Padme asked: "What have Ryoo and Pooja, why two wonderful nieces been up to all those years?" Ruwee smiled at the mention of Ryoo and Pooja, knowing how much joy it would be for their aunt to see what two wonderful persons they had become over the years: "Pooja is representing Naboo in the Galactic Senate of the New Republic and Ryoo is a part of the Royal Security Force." The former Senator was very amazed as she heard that and also couldn't wait to see those two again it made her so proud that not only her daughter but also her niece was following her big footsteps and her two children followed this scene in silence because they weren't so sure what to say right at that this very moment. Later after some hours Jobal said: "You all must be very hungry, so because of that and as a celebration of this miracle I'll prepare a meal for all of us in the kitchen right now."
Padme liked that suggestion from her mother a lot and she couldn't help but think: It feels so good to be home and it somehow feels like I was never gone. She stood up from the couch, made her way to the dining room and she couldn't but think back to the last time where she sat right there at the same table with Anakin and the rest of the family. Leia joined her mother in the dining room and asked as she stepped right next to her: "What was our father like before he turned to the Dark Side of the Force?"
Padme shortly sighed, as speaking about Annie wasn't so easy for her but her children deserved to know everything there was to know about their father that they sadly didn't have the opportunity to get to know personally. "Your father was a very kind person, but also a somehow troubled by his emotions and from the beginning we had that special connection with each other. My older sister Sola was the first one to let me know that she knew that Anakin liked me more as just a friend, but at that I didn't want to admit to myself that I maybe felt the same way about him because I knew that the Jedi weren't allowed to love anyone like Anakin did love me and if I let my heart get the better off me your father would have been definitely thrown out of the order.
But there came that time where I had the feeling that I had to reconsider my decision, as it wasn't certain that me and your father would survive the first battle of the Clone Wars and so I pushed all my doubts away and let my heart win over my rational mind. "
AN: How will Sola react when she sees her younger sister again being alive after all these years?
