Chapter 34

A little bit later Padme, her children and her parents sat at the dining table and the former Senator's of course had once again out done herself by creating one very wonderful tasting meal. She had missed this good old times with her family here on Naboo a lot for all these years, because sadly she hadn't been able to spent as much time as she would have liked to on her home world since the big war the Separatist Movement had started. The former Queen of Naboo had lost so much that she had held dear because of the Clone Wars: Good Friends, her husband and she had witnessed the loss of democracy first hand which was one of the saddest things to witness for her in her entire life. They eat a little while in silence before Padme's mother said looking in her daughter's direction: "So do you have any idea how long you will exactly stay here on Naboo?"

Of course Padme really didn't plan her time so precisely at all, so she took her time to think about this question before she finally said: "I don't know how long I'll stay here, I just know for sure that I want to show Leia and Luke where I grew up and also introduce them to some other family members and after missing so much things because of my time in the stasis pod I know for sure that I don't want to rush anything at all." Ruwee and Jobal were glad to hear that, having the chance to spent some time with their daughter again was really one of the many great things that happened to them in their entire life and they were also pretty sure that one mysterious god from above was responsible for this wonderful miracle to happen in the first place even if neither of them had ever been the kind of religious person in their entire life. Both of them and the rest of the Naberrie Family were happy that things were going slowly but surely back to being normal again, after the people of Naboo had to go through such a dark time during the occupation of the planet by the Empire and the few people who dared to be against the Empire only held up their meetings in secret far away from Naboo. The sad fact was that the risk, for the people who supported the Anti-Empire Movement to be deported to some far away prison camp by the soldiers of the Imperial Garnison was just too big to be taken lightly by anyone.

Padme kept looking around in the room, thinking about how much she had missed all of this since she had been here the last with Anakin and she couldn't help but ask herself over and over again how her big sister Sola would react to the big news. Thinking about that she also remembered the constant teasing from her when it came to men, but also had there been that great concern that her little sister would never settle at all: Marry and have some children like she did. Padme was also a little bit scared of the reaction from her sister to the fact, that she neither has told her of the relationship she had with Anakin and that they even had a secret marriage right here on Naboo. She pushed those away for now, focused back on eating her meal and deep down she knew that her mother was probably already aware of the fact that something was really bothering her daughter at this very moment. Later they finally finished the meal together, Padme, her parents and her children then returned back to the living room and Jobal said before she disappeared into another room:

"I'll be back shortly because right now I want to see if I can contact Sola over the Holocom and I can't wait to tell her the good news." Padme looked into her mother's direction until she was out of sight and meanwhile in the other room, Jobal also felt some anxiety coming up in her stomach as she slowly approached the com unit, so before she activated it she took one final deep breath and tried her very best to keep her emotions in check for now.

Theed, the House of Danred and Sola Naberrie

Sola's husband was busy with going through some pads for his job as an architect when he heard the com unit signal a new incoming message and so he put his work aside for now and quickly made his into the next room where the communication device was located. As he saw who appeared on the other side of the transmission he had a big smile on his face and said: "What a pleasant surprise your call is, do you actually have something particular on her mind or do you just want to say hello?" Jobal smiled back at him, she really had be so happy that the two had found each other from day one because they made the perfect couple and she couldn't wish for better son-in law at all.

"Is Sola also at home? I have to tell you both something very important that will probably sound unbelievable at first but I assure you that it is the truth and nothing but the truth." Sola's husband was now truly intrigued and couldn't help but think what was so important that his wife also needed to be present to hear it.

He decided to push those thoughts away for now and said: "Yes she is home too; busy with preparing our lunch but since this seems to be very important I'll get her right away." The kitchen of the house was not very far away from the living room, so it didn't take Sola's husband long to reach it and as he had finally reached the doorstep he said: "Hey darling your mother wants to talk to you over the holocom, she didn't want to say what it is about but said that it is pretty important for us to hear." Sola turned around to face her husband and thought: Why is Mom so secretive all over sudden and what is so important that she wants to tell us? After thinking about what to say for a moment she replied: "Okay then let's go and I'm very anxious to know what mom has to tell us."

Sola then took the lead on the walk back to the living room and she was so much nervous as stood in front of the holo com unit that she gently held onto her husband's hand, because she felt like she needed all the emotional support she could get in her emotional state.

"I think it's the best for all of us if I cut to the chase right away: Your little Sister lives Sola. Padme is alive and well, trust me I know that you must ask yourself how that is possible and I didn't want to believe at first too." Jobal could see how shaken up Sola was right now and so there was silence between the three and Padme's older sister definitely needed some time now to digest all this.
