Chapter 36

Sola was quite amazed after she heard that story from her sister and of course had a very hard time digesting all of this information at once. Padme had expected this reaction from her older sister, because if the roles would have been reversed she would have reacted the same way and so she gave her all the time that she needed to understand all those things that she had just been told. It took quite a while to wrap her head around all of this but then she had recomposed herself again and said: "All of this feels so surreal to me, when I first saw you here in the living room as I arrived I couldn't but think that this was a dream that I would wake up from very soon. It took a while but I finally realized that my eyes don't fool me, you are really here with us again and I'm so sorry for your loss because you and Anakin made such a cute couple. But I'm also happy for you for giving birth to those two wonderful children and I would like to welcome you into the big Naberrie Family."

Padme was thankful for the kind words of her sister and spending more time with her family again after all those years would be great. She was also pretty sure that Leia and Luke would easily fit into the big family and after a longer pause the former Senator said: "Thank you all for your condolences considering the loss of Anakin, I really appreciate that a lot and Anakin maybe dead but only will he have a special place in my heart forever he also proved me right in the very end by dying for a good cause." Having know Obi Wan for a such long time, she deep knew at that very moment on the day where she supposedly died what he thought as she had insisted that there was still some good left inside of him. Seeing the terrible things that his former Padawan had done in the Jedi Temple to Younglings made him think that Padme's choice of words for him were more wishful thinking than it was the actual reality at this very moment.

"It's really a shame that I didn't get to meet my father, but judging from the things that I've been told about him he must have been a genuine nice person and sacrificing himself so that Luke could survive was a noble thing to do." Leia then said and even if he did was wrong, he wanted to do it for the right reasons saving his wife and the children that he was so worried about but his fear for them was used against him by the Emperor and he left the right path.

Hearing those kind words from her daughter made her a little bit sentimental once again, because she had missed so much of her daughter's life like watching her grow up and falling in love for the very first time but in the end there was no use in holding onto the past. She needed to focus on looking ahead to the future and she wasn't quite so sure when it came to her plans for the future:

Would she want to go back into politics or only focus on being a mother after she had missed so much of the lives of Luke and Leia? Right now she only knew this for sure: She definitely didn't want to make a rash decision about something this important, because she didn't want to feel any regret at the end and now wasn't the time to decide about this matter. There was some silence between them, because nobody was really sure what to say right before Padme decided to speak again: "Is Pooja also here on Naboo right now? I would really love to see her, because from what Mother has told me we have a lot to talk about since she's now representing our home world in the newly formed Galatic Senate on Corcusant. "

"And I'm sure that Pooja will be happy to see you again too, but sadly she's not on Naboo right now because she has to take care of official business on the Capitol World of the New Republic but I'm sure that we can arrange a meeting between you two very soon." Sola said with a big smile on her face and being able to spend some time with her sister again was a really wonderful feeling for her and she couldn't wait to tell Ryoo and Pooja that their aunt is alive. Luke had of course also listened very closely to the stories about his father that surely made him wish that he had met his father before he had been corrupted by the Dark Side of the Force.

Jobal disappeared into the kitchen to get everybody something to drink, because she assumed that she wasn't the only person in the room that was thirsty right now. Meanwhile Ruwee decided to speak for the first time as he and Sola didn't have the opportunity to see each other that much in the last months: "How are things going for Ryoo in the Royal Security Force?" Of course the job as a member of the Royal Security Force proved to be very stressful as expected but Ryoo had told his mother on several occasions how much he loved his job.

"Ryoo enjoys his work for the Queen very much even if he hasn't got much time because of the stressful schedule but in the end he would never prefer any other job over this one." Sola answered in such a happy mood and she was as proud as one mother could be of her children. Pooja going into politics to be the representative of Naboo even during that very dark era of the Galactic Civil War in the Imperial Senate wasn't a big surprise as her aunt Padme had always been a big idol to her since her childhood days.
