Thrown roughly against the ground, the dragons laughed as he weakly got up, arms still bound together. Looking up, he saw one of the dragons move it's head closer, then it let out a small puff of fire. Instinctively, David put up his arms to defend himself, but no harm came to him - at least, not from fire. The one closest to him slapped him, talons cutting his cheek. Laughing at him, they left. Taking his time to get up, he placed a hand against his cheek, it was cut, but otherwise wasn't dangerous. What the hell was that? He thought, wiping off the drool from his mouth. Looking up, he saw a dragon pressed against the cell bars. Swearing loudly with a slight jump, "the hell do you want, eh?" He asked, the dragon only staring at him for an uncomfortably long time before it left. "Damn dragons."

What a cute scavenger! Cereus giggled. Oh! I need to make a big hat for it! She laughed at the idea of making a goofy hat for it. Moving a curtain aside, she walked into the doctor's office to see Viper. Her friend laid on a soft cloth that covered the rock slab. "Hey Viper," she meekly said, sitting on the side of the rock.

"Hm? Oh, hey there," he greeted weakly. "Came to see your best friend, huh?" He joked, earning a chuckle from his friend.

"Yup! So, what did the doctor say about your injuries?" She asked, looking at the bandages around his face.

"Well, the good news is that I'm still alive, the bad news is that I can't use my stinger any more," Cereus looked down at his tail, where there was once a stinger, was now a lump. "And my face is a little crispy, but it's not permanent…" he stopped, trying to think of something to say. "So what about that scavenger?"

"Oh, my moons!" She started. "It is so cute! I bet I could just cuddle with it, and imagine the hats I could make!" She said, squealing like a little dragonet. "After this, I'm going to get started on a nice straw hat for it, can you imagine what it'd look like on it?" She said, planting the image of a scavenger with a straw hat in Vipers mind.

"Yeah, I can imagine that," he said, sighing. "Cereus. I want you to listen to me, ok?" He said to the dragon, gain her full attention. "That scavenger is not something to be cuddled with, it will take any chance to kill you, understand?" Cereus nodded. "Good."

"Well, Viper? I'm going to go now, bye Viper! I'll see you tomorrow!" She said, running out of the office.

C'mon - just budge one bit - "SHIT!" He yelled, kicking the metal bar of his cell. Putting his hands on his waist and sighing he kept looking around the cells, inspecting every crack, deformity or flaw the cell had - which was a lot. All he needed was some kind of tool…

Wait. Reaching his hand into one of the many pockets of his leather jacket, his suspicion was confirmed, he still had his multi-tool pliers on him! It had a plethora of tools, one would surely help him! Let's see, file? No, that's not on the right edge. Knife? Probably too small to do any damage. What if I just dig through the rock? He thought, hitting the rock with the tip of his pliers, dust flying up and getting in his eyes and lungs. Once the dust settled, there was no mark that any damage had been done. Fine, I'll try one more thing. He thought, walking to the back of the cell, then running up the bars and drop-kicking it, landing painfully on his shoulder. After a few minutes of groaning, he looked up to see nothing had happened to the bar, and instead, it seemed to attract the attention of a dragon.

Shit! He hid his pliers inside his jacket, and sat against the wall, pretending as if nothing ever happened. Talons tapping against the sandstone floor, a large, dark yellow dragon appearing and gazing down at him. Just look away, and you're fine, David told himself. However, he had to force himself to look up when he heard the dragon open the cell door.

"Rwat rer ru?" It asked, grabbing his jaw slightly and forcing him to look up. David glared directly into his eyes. David pushed the dragon

"Get off me," David said to the dragon, however, it only seemed to start invading his personal space, even more, getting under his jacket, "I said get off!" David said again, this time pushing the dragon off him.

"Rhat's rit," the dragon said, grabbing him by the arm, attempting to push David to the ground. Instead, David stood and stared at the dragon, directly at eye level with the beast. The dragon's maw dropped in disbelief and gave David the perfect chance to hook the dragon in the head, giving David the chance to run out of the cell and shut the door.

"Ha! Take that!" He said to the dragon, before running down the hallway, almost immediately charging into another dragon, sending both of them to the ground. Pushing himself off the dragon, he could see that it had much more visible scars and a pattern of black scales on its chest.

"What in the three moons?" The dragon asked, face to face with the biggest scavenger he's ever seen. "What in the three moons!" He pushed off the massive scavenger and got up. The scavenger seemed to have the same idea, getting up and trying to run away. "Stop right there!" The Sandwing officer said, pouncing on the scavenger.

"Dret groff dre!" It yelled, the scavenger struggling to get the Sandwing off. Instead of trying to hold it down, the Sandwing hit the scavenger in the head, putting in enough force to knock it out.

"Oh, my moons!" A feminine called out. The officer looked up to see Cereus quickly approaching him.

"Cereus, what in the moons is this?" The Sandwing officer asked. "Why did you and viper think - ow!" Stopped mid-sentence, he pushed off the scavenger so that Cereus could coddle it. "What do you think you're doing!"

"Keeping it safe from the likes of you!" She said, putting a wing over the scavenger's body. "I'm not letting you kill this one."

The officer let out an extremely audible sigh. "I'm not going to kill it," when he said that, he could see Cereus perk up and open her maw. "I want to train it, imagine, what would the queen think when I have a new weapon! I'd be her right-wing dragon!" He said, thinking of the fame and glory. Maybe… "Cereus, I want you to train this scavenger."

"You - you want me? Me to take care of this scavenger?" She asked him. "I- I'll -Yes! I'll take care of it!"

He let out a slight hiss, "no, no. I want you to train it. If you want to keep this scavenger, I expect you to train it, I've heard about the weapon it used, I want that." He said to the female Sandwing. She only nodded her head vigorously. "Good, let's put it back in the cell, you start tomorrow."

A/N: I was stumped for this chapter. I knew what I had wanted from it, but not how to get it. Not only that, I can't lie that I'm slightly disappointed with the turnout, but it's a result. As always, constructive criticism is always appreciated.
