Miss Grimwood wasted no time in explaining the situation to the gang.

"So, let me get this straight? This is a school for monsters and we just opened up a chest containing the most powerful demons in the world?" asked Daphne.

"Exactly!" She nodded.

"But that's impossible!" Shaggy exclaimed. "Monsters and ghouls and goblins don't exist! They're made up, just like Martians, unicorns and kangaroos!"

"There are no such things as ghosts." Daphne agreed.

"I believe that's where you're wrong." Miss Grimwood said. "Monsters, creatures and magic are all but truly real. We've kept them hidden from the mortal world for a reason."

"Then why don't you prove it?" asked Daphne.

"Yeah, like how do we know this isn't some kind of hidden camera prank show?" asked Shaggy.

"If this was indeed a prank, as you put it, then the students and I would be laughing by now." Miss Grimwood said.

"And believe me, I know a thing or two about pranking." Phanty materialized, giggling.

"Yikes!" Scooby jumped into Shaggy's arms.

"I still say this is all fake!" Daphne remarked.

Phanty giggled. "If this was fake, could I do this?"

Phanty flew into a nearby rag doll and possessed it, making the doll tap dance and do loop-de-loops.

"Ta da!" She flew out of the doll.

"Still not buying it." Daphne remarked.

"Well how about this?" Sibella changed into a bat.

"Smoke bombs." Daphne remarked.

"What about this?" Elsa lifted Shaggy and Scooby and spun them on her finger like basketballs.

"Whoa..." They hollered as they spun.

"Haven't seen that before." Daphne rolled her eyes.

"Well how do you explain my fur and fangs and tail and such?" asked Winnie.

"Heavy duty makeup." Daphne remarked.

"Excuse me, but I think I can convince you." Tanis sucked on her thumb.

"Awww, look at you trying to act scary..." Daphne gushed. "What're you gonna do? Puppy dog eye me to death?"

Tanis unwrapped her head and revealed her true face.

"AAAAHHHHH!" Scooby, Shaggy and Daphne screamed.

"Now do you believe we are real?" asked Sibella.

Scooby, Shaggy and Daphne nodded fearfully and slowly.

"Good, because I'm afraid what you've just unleashed is far more worse than that." Miss Grimwood said.

The gang gulped.

Meanwhile over at Calloway Academy, the cadets were all enjoying their leisure time.

"Gin!" Tug said as he threw down a card.

"Tug, we're playing poker." Baxter corrected him.

"You've got a lot to learn, cadet." Jamal rolled his eyes.

All of a sudden, the boys heard some spooky noises coming from the outside.

"Wh-what was that?" Pierre gasped.

"That definitely was something." Grunt said as they got up from their seats.

The boys walked up and saw where the strange noise had come from. There were strange shadowy figures flying into the sky from the Miss Grimwood's school.

"Holy cow!" Flim Flam exclaimed. "It's coming from Miss Grimwood's school! Either she's giving a lecture on dark arts or there's something weird going on there."

"I got a very bad feeling about this." Baxter remarked.

"I suggest we just stay out of it." suggested Miguel. "This kinda stuff always leads to trouble."

"You got that right, brother." Tug nodded.

While the others went back to whatever they were doing, Flim Flam stayed behind.

"Guys, we should go and investigate." He whispered to Logan and Pierre. "This could be big."

"I don't think so, Flim Flam." Logan shook his head. "Didn't you hear what Miguel said? I am not going to dragged into your wacky shenanigans anymore. Especially after what happened last time."

"Me neither." Pierre agreed.

"Very well." Flim Flam shrugged. "Just sit here and watch TV or play cards. I guess I'll have to go on a great big adventure by myself. Yes, an adventure filled with danger, maybe fight dark forces or become a hero and get huge celebrations in my honor afterwards."

"You can have it all, as far as we're concerned, Flim." Logan said. "We have enough adventures from your wacky shenanigans last time."

"Suit yourselves." Flim Flam shrugged again before he headed towards the school.

"Boy, that is one brave kid." Pierre remarked.

"He is so gonna get himself killed." Logan deadpanned.

Flim Flam snuck outside and hid inside of a bush for cover. Using his cadet periscope, he looked over the fence and saw Miss Grimwood bringing something over to Mystery Inc: it was a crystal ball.

"Oh, that can't be good at all." Flim thought to himself.

Inside the school, Miss Grimwood rubbed her crystal ball.

"Oh great and powerful crystal ball, please show me Vincent Van Ghoul so that I may speak with him." She chanted.

Upon hearing the words, the crystal ball started to glow and there was Vincent's image.

"Zoinks!" Shaggy gasped.

"Miss Grimwood, what seems to be the problem?" asked Vincent.

Miss Grimwood wasted no time in explaining about the demons escaping the chest and how the gang was responsible.

For a while, there was dead silence from the warlock.

"Wh-what's going on?" asked Scooby.

"Vincent?" Miss Grimwood tapped on the ball.

"How could you let this happen?!" Vincent snapped. "You were trusted to guard that chest with your life! Now those demons will wreck havoc on the whole world!"

"I know I should've been more careful, sir, but I assure you, we will get those demons back inside!" Miss Grimwood assured him.

"Oh you're going to get those demons back alright, and I'm going to make sure you do!" Vincent sternly said. "Same goes for those blasted meddling kids for opening the chest! Only they can get the demons back inside."

"Why us?" asked Shaggy.

"Because the demons can only be captured by the people who released them, that's why!" Vincent explained.

The trio each have a queasy feeling in the pits of their stomachs.

"Now here's the first demon!" Vincent conjured up the image of the first demon. "This is Rankor. He hates the sunlight and has made it his goal to destroy the chest. I've located him somewhere in the deepest, darkest part of the woods."

"Deepest darkest?" Shaggy and Scooby gulped.

You must hurry at once! There is no time to lose!" Vincent exclaimed.

The trio clearly looked overwhelmed.

"Well gang, it looks like we have a major mystery on our hands." Daphne said. "Probably our biggest one yet."

Shaggy gulped. "I was afraid you might say that."
