Chapter 86
Millennium Falcon
As time was their big enemy right in the middle of the territory of Admiral Thrawn, Han and Chewie had made the ship battle ready again in record time and the only question left unanswered was: How long would it take for the enemy to pick up the intruder inside of their space again? As much as they both hated to admit but two things were clear:
Admiral Thrawn's soldiers would definitely not give up just because of one set back and secondly it was only a matter of time before Thrawn's people would have been able to get rid of the interference that avoided the Falcon from being detected by their sensors at this moment.
The Chimaera, Admiral Thrawn's Flagship
The Admiral was a fair person and so he admitted to himself, that the resistance from the forces of the New Republic posed quite a challenge to his strategic mind but one thing was for sure: As much battles the New Republic might be able to win in this war, at the end they would surrender to the Master of Military Strategy as this was just a question of when the fall of the New Republic would actually happen and not if that would be even the case at all.
In his mind he was thinking about how he would an example of that thief Han Solo and his hairy Co-Pilot Chewbacca, delivering a clear message to The New Republic of one simple fact: Actions always have consequences at the end, the only question was how they would be for the opposing side in the conflict.
It had taken quite a while but finally the ship was ready to go again and both of them knew one thing for sure: It would be quite a challenge to leave the enemy's territory behind them, as Grand Admiral Thrawn would anything in his power to make it as hard as possible for them to return to their home base on Coruscant. Because of the Fact that time was also a big enemy at the moment, they weren't able to bring back the deflector shields to full capacity and even if this was easier said than done: They needed to keep their pursuer as far away as possible.
"Ok I've got the data for the estimated time for the Hyperspace Jump and this will be one bumpy ride for sure." This definitely wasn't his first rodeo in his long pilot career, so no matter how bad the situation might look for the neutral bystander Han knew exactly what to do to get through this one piece.
Coruscant, Jedi Temple
As Luke watched the young Rey train from the distance, he felt kind of conflicted when it came to her because she had shown a lot of talent with the Force so far but one thing could prove to be a huge roadblock when it came to being a full-fledged Jedi: The negative emotions that were bottled up inside of her had the tendency to come out at the most impractical moments and bring her in danger at the end. Anger is the path to the dark side, that is one certainty that would never lose its actuality.
As much as look was aware of the danger that Rey could choose the wrong path, he was confident that it wasn't too late yet to hold her on the right path with the help of the guidance that he offered to all of his Jedi trainees.
Aside from rebuilding the Jedi Order he had that little side project going: Teaching his sister how to use the force, but right now he wasn't so sure if that thing did have a future, as Leia had been busier with handling the recent conflicts inside of the New Republic.
Even if the Force wouldn't be able to show him, if Leia would continue her Jedi training at some point in the future, it was sure that one thing was definitely going to happen at some point:
Han and Leia would be parents to two force sensitive children and Luke would train both of them to use this power in the right way.
He was so lost in his thoughts for a while that he didn't realized that Master Ralkitta had joined him at his observation position. It felt weird for the Jedi Master to be back at the Temple after all these years, because after how him and the Order had gone their separate ways it had felt quite unlikely for him to ever enter these halls again.
He was so glad to see, that Master Skywalker had been able to bring back the Jedi Order to its former glory after the evil master plan of one man had caused it to fall to pieces in record time. It took him quite a while to realize that Palpatine alone had been to blame for the end of the Jedi Order, back in the days of the Old Republic as the Sith Lord had clouded the vision of the most experienced Jedi Masters.
Coruscant, Senate Quarters
After being done with her work for the day, Leia got herself and her mother something to eat and she could see that her mother was happy, that her daughter finally took a little break from the stressful work in politics.
"Mon Mothma is the right woman for the job, as I couldn't have imagined any one else to take over this high position to rebuild democracy after Palpatine had destroyed it and it had always been a pleasure to work with her side by side in the past." Padme said after Leia had told her a little bit more, how the way had been for her and Mon Mothma to rebuild the Republic and how quick new enemies had emerged out of the shadows to challenge this young democracy: From the outside but also from the inside.
AN: Leia and her mother spending some quality time together is good thing, but where will Padme fit in in this still so new world?
