We'll Be A Fine Line

Catradora

Catra feels as though she can count the good things she's done in her life on one hand.

It's been a few months since the defeat of Horde prime, and the saving of all worlds. And, she knows people have forgiven her. Adora, most importantly, but the other people of the rebellion aswell.

They're all such forgiving people, and it stinks.

She cant help but think of the times she hurt Adora, and all of the other princesses. The people of bright moon, and all of Etheria. Heck, she was even terrible to the people who fought on her side, who stuck with her. She put so many lives a stake, and hurt so many innocent people.

She cant get it out of her head.

"Hi!"

Catra hisses and jumps, turning around to the person who so rudely barged into the room she's in.

It's Adora.

"Hey, Adora."

The blonde woman walks up to were Catra is sitting at the large purple beanbag, and squats down to kiss her cheek. She laughs, and swats away the hand that was ruffling her hair. Adora pulls away, smiling, but once she sees Catra's smile slowly into previous stern scowl, she frowns.

"Penny for your thoughts," she says as she sits Criss-cross on the rugged floor, resting her hand on her Partners knee.

Catra runs her nails through her short hair.

"I- It's-...ugh."

Adora smiles sadly, tapping Catra's knee.

"You don't have to tell me...just-"

"Why did I do it?"

Adora raises a blonde eyebrow, but situates herself so she's sitting crisscross in front of Catra. "Do what?"

Catra puts her head in her hands. "Oh, I don't know. Hurt thousands of peoples, let you go, stayed with the Horde." Adora's eyebrows scrunch together.

Why is she thinking about this? The princesses have told her tens of times that they forgive her, and they've tried to make her feel at home in Bright moon. Repairs were running smoothly, an everything seemed to be looking up.

Why didn't she tell her she was still worried about this sooner?

"Catra, you know-"

The stubborn woman groans, and abruptly stands up from her spot on the fluffy beanbag. Not out of anger at Adora, but herself.

She walks over to a window outlooking bright moon. The land she wanted to burn to ashes a few years ago, but now desperately wants to feel at home in.

"I was so...stupid."

Adora frowns and begins to stand. Catra turns away from the window, and to her.

"Most everything I did was...in spite of you. You went with the rebellion, and I was so...angry, and hurt. Looking back at it now, I realize that was stupid. The Horde treated you terribly, and you found the sword, and you didn't know what was gong on. I was just...so mad."

Adora walks closer to her. "Catra, it wasn't stupid-"

"I nearly killed you multiple times. I loved you, but I hurt you anyways because I thought you betrayed me," Catra says angrily. Tears were beginning to leak from her eyes, and she roughly turned back to the window.

"I was even terrible to the people who stood by my side." She wipe's at her eyes with her palms. Adora is now standing directly behind her, listening closely to every word she says.

She turns around to her. "I hate how the Princesses treat me. Like I never hurt them, or their friends. Like I never destroyed their homes."

Adora reaches out to Catra, and just as her fingertips brush her shoulder, Catra spins around and jumps into her arms.

She cries, and Adora holds her close, trying to think of what to say that could be comforting. All she could come up with was-

"I love you."

Catra pulls away just to the point to where she could look at Adora. She sniffles as she says, "I love you too."

Adora cups her face in her hands, and pecks her nose with her lips.

"Catra, can't help you if you don't talk to me. Yeah, you've made mistakes, but everyone does. What matters, is that you did everything in your power to make up for it. You did good in the end. You saved Etheria. Everyone makes mistakes, even good people."

Catra smiles lightly at Adora, as she wipes the remaining tears of her freckled cheeks, and she smiles back.

"Now," she says, pulling away from the embrace. "I think Bow's making something in the kitchen if you're hungry. I can only guess it'll be good."

"Unless he let Glimmer help."

Adora laughs, and grabs Catra's hand. "Seriously, I love her, but I wouldn't eat something she cooked if it was the piece of edible food on the planet." The two giggle as they exit the room, and head down the halls of the Castle.

Catra snorts. "She's a terrible cook."

Adora smiles as she looks over at her.

She knows this isn't the end of the conversation. But they're getting there, slowly but surely.

So she squeezes her hand a little tighter, and looks ahead.

"Yeah, totally."

I DO NOT OWN SHE-RA. THAT WOULD MEAN I'VE MET NOELLE, AND I WOULD REMEMBER IF I MET HER.

Well, this is the first ever She-Ra fanfiction I've ever written (or anything that isn't Percabeth, for that matter).

I don't really know how I feel about it...but hey, Catradora. Ya know?

(Also, the title doesn't really have anything to do with the story, to be honest. I was listening to 'fine line' (by Harry Styles) while writing most of it, and I couldn't think of anything better.)

Thanks for reading. You, are pretty cool.
