Within the Morgan household, all was calm. However, Alicia kept tossing and turning in bed. Inside her dreams, she kept seeing flashes and images. Like a flickering movie, she only caught glimpses of a pale, faceless man in a suit followed by the faces of scared children. What scared her the most was that Evan was there.

"Help me, Alicia!" Her brother called out in agony.

Alicia darted up in bed gasping for breath. She wiped the sweat off her forehead and tried to calm down.

Meanwhile, in the home of Lydia Chase, the Strawberry blonde was having a similar experience. She woke up in cold sweat, panting in fear. "This can't be just a dream..." She whispered.

~ Bayview High ~

"You don't look so good." Lydia commented as she and Alicia walked through the hallways at school.

"I've been having these strange dreams."

Lydia perked up when she heard this. "Dreams? What kind of dreams?"

"In it, children are crying for help... and I see-"

Lydia finished the sentence with, "A faceless man wearing a suit?"

Alicia looked up at her friend in disbelief. "Yeah, how'd you know?"

"Because... I've been seeing him too. This is freaky..."

Tobias and Jared walked up to the two.

Tobias asked, "You guys hear about what happened last night?"

"No, what?" Lydia asked.

Jared answered, "Another kid disappeared. It's the sixth one this week. It's too much to be a coincidence."

Alicia squeezed her right arm and asked, "Could it be supernatural?"

Tobias answered, "I think so... Jared and I were talking and we think this thing, whatever it is, is haunting us with dreams."

"You guys too?" Lydia asked.

"Okay, this is too freaky." Tobias answered, "Like next-level stuff, dude."

"If we're being haunted by the same dreams, would it make sense that the others are having these dreams too?" Alicia asked.

"Let's find out." Jared stated plainly. Before he could go off to find his friends, he and Alicia got an alarm from their wristbands.

"Looks like it'll have to wait. Let's go, Alicia."

~In the City ~

Alicia and Jared arrived to see countless people running away from a black fog. A little boy and his mother were lagging behind.

"Look!" Jared pointed to the two. "That's Tobias's mom and brother!"

Tony Berenson was Tobias's twelve year old brother. He had the same spiked brown hair as his brother and had a similar facial structure.

"It's headed straight for them!" She said. "We've got to stop it!"

The two jumped into the air and fired off from their X-Defenders only for their attacks to pass through. However, the delay gave the fleeing pair enough time to get some distance.

Suddenly, Alicia and Jared heard a creepily calming voice.

He beckoned, "Come to me."

The little boy stopped running with his mom and turned around as if he was in a trance.

"Tony, what're you doing?! Sweetie come back!" Tobias's mom called.

It was too late, Tony had gone into the smoke and disappeared.

Tobias and Lydia watched from the school library on Lydia's Ipad. Lydia saw a look of fear on Tobias's face that she didn't think was possible for him.

"Tony..." He whispered in disbelief. Without another word, Tobias left the library.

~ HQ ~

"There you are!" Jared exclaimed as he and the other Rangers entered HQ. Lydia was at home fearing for her own younger sibling, Aliya. Tobias was sitting on the computer typing away.

"I can't find any leads. I looked in the Destiny Book, I looked in this place's archives. There's nothing on this black smoke!"

"We'll find him and the rest of the kids." Liam comforted.

"Well, I want to find them fast. I'm kinda playing the part of the older brother who's freaking out!"

"Toby, let's just slow down." Jared said. "Since it was the four of us who had dreams, we should take extra precautions. Noah, can you, Asher, Sonia and Liam check on Lydia? Alicia, Chris and I will stay here and try to find this thing."

"Right." Noah nodded. "Let's go."

~ Lydia's House ~

Lydia had a luxurious home in the best part of town. It was rather large and mostly made of marble. It had stone pillars in the front, a nice walkway, and a magnificent chandelier hanging over the front door. Inside Lydia's room, she sat on her bed completely on edge. Tobias had these weird dreams and his brother got taken.

Now, she was afraid that Aliya would be taken as well. She crept up from her bed and tiptoed down the wooden floor hallway. She cracked open the door and saw her sister sitting on her bed, her back facing Lydia. She could see the pink violin on her lap. Her strawberry blonde hair was tied in a ponytail.

"Hey, Lea." Lydia breathed in relief.

"Oh hi, Lid."

"What're you up to, kiddo?"

Her thirteen year old sister just shrugged. "Just practicing."

"Well, you sound beautiful. You want me to make you something?"

"A pancake would be nice."

"Pancakes for dinner?"

"Yeah." Aliya smiled with bright green eyes.

"Alright, a few pancakes coming right up."

After about fifteen minutes, Lydia had finished three perfectly made pancakes. As she put them on a plate, she heard Aliya scream.

A rush of adrenaline coursed through her. "No." She whispered as she started to sprint across the living room and to the stairs.

As she entered Aliya's room, the black smoke seeped out of the window. As a reflex, Lydia screamed at the top of her lungs. Its piercing sound grabbed the attention of Noah, Liam, Sonia and Asher who were outside. And somehow, it had reached HQ; everyone inside recognizing Lydia.

Noah was the first to burst through the bedroom door. "What happened?" He asked.

"Aliya... she's gone!" Lydia wailed.

~ The Next Day ~

The Rangers were still stricken from fear and worry. Police reports were officially filed on Aliya, causing a stir amongst the town. Noah stayed home all around the clock to make sure Arum, Mayflower and Daisy were safe. To distract them, he played games using their powers. He'd throw a ball into the air and Arum would turn it into ice. The twins would then freeze its molecules. With Kira in New York, Sonia decided to hang around the Ryders.

She sat on the back porch in a chair levitating a soccer ball between her hands. Since her experience with awakening the Key within her, Sonia had been trying to figure out how to grow her divine spark. So far, she was only able to perform minor feats of magic non-verbally.

Meanwhile, Liam wasn't sure whether it was the right thing to do, but he decided to stay home as well; although his brother Seth was a high school senior while he was a junior, the boy took no chances.

Jared, Chris, Lydia, Tobias and Alicia were at the Gordon Manor sitting in the sun room. Cody was tasked with occupying Evan.

"Where's Asher?" Alicia asked.

"In his room. I swear he's hiding something. Can you ever sense him?"

"No, I don't get anything from him anymore."

"Can we focus here?" Tobias asked rather bluntly. "My brother was taken by this thing!"

"And we'll get him back." Chris stated. "We don't even know what we're up against."

Tobias calmed down and stated, "I've been doing research on this thing at HQ. I mean, extra research. And I might know what's happening. We just need to see it one more time for me to know."

"We'll set a trap for it." Alicia pitched.

"How?" Tobias asked, crossing his arms.

As an answer, Jared made his eyes glow a brilliant red. "Call Lydia."

Chris still didn't know Jared's power. "I'm sorry, am I missing something?"

~ Later that Night ~

Jared, Alicia, Chris, Tobias and Lydia stayed perched in the bushes. While the three Rangers wore their slaying uniforms, their respective ranger color t-shirt with black cargo pants and black boots, Tobias and Lydia wore dark colored civilian clothes. Tobias wore a deep blue hooded sweatshirt over black jeans and black sneakers. Lydia wore a dark violet sweater over black sweatpants and grey sneakers.

"Ready, Lydia?" Jared asked, making his eyes red.

"Yes." She answered as her Soul Gate appeared on her chest.

Jared pressed his hand into the gate and found himself flying through Lydia's heart. He sped past her memories and emotions going straight for the center of her soul. As he landed on the stained glass floor, which consisted of a giant rose being held by a hand, Jared saw the glowing orb which contained Lydia's True Soul.

Before he could touch it, he saw a glint of light flash above him. Curious, he jumped to it and tapped it with his pointer finger. A blast wave of Lydia's scream sent him spiraling back to the floor. Eyes widening, he realized what that was; how Lydia was able to scream so loud that he heard it a HQ.

Quickly, he grabbed Lydia's True Soul.

Not wanting to scare Lydia even more, he decided to keep his discovery a secret. He just handed her the Hacker's Interface and nodded.

Lydia grabbed her True Soul and went to work on the hologram interface. Out in the opening appeared a holographic child.

It wandered around for a bit when a black smoke appeared above it.

"Now!" Jared shouted. The teenagers jumped out from the bushes and started throwing vials of potions at the smoke. They exploded on impact, but they didn't destroy it.

"Give me back my sister!" Lydia screamed running forward.

"Lydia!" Tobias shouted, running after her.

The smoke retreated into a thin portal. Tobias and Lydia passed through it just as it closed.

"No!" Alicia yelled falling to her knees. Turning, she watched the hologram child fade away into glowing lights.

~ A Very Dark Place ~

Tobias woke up with his head swimming. He saw Lydia lying off a few feet away. He tried to stand, but his entire body was racked with pain. Instead, he crawled his way to her side and lightly shook her.

"Lydia... come on, Lydia. Stay with me."

Lydia's eyes slowly opened and upon remembering what happened, darted up.

"Where are we?!" She asked.

"I don't know. I just woke up." The two helped each other to their feet. It was pure dark all around the only thing off in the distance was a house under what looked to be a large spotlight.

"I guess we have somewhere to go." Tobias commented.

"Then let's go." Lydia nodded.

~HQ~

"Lydia's a what?" Alicia asked.

"A banshee." Jared stated.

Alicia crossed the room and flipped through the Destiny Book of Shadows and found the entry.

"Banshees are humans or humanoids who shriek at any sign of danger or death. So, how can Lydia be one?"

"It could've been passed down to her somehow."

"Ok, so how does this help?" Alicia asked.

Then, Chris got an idea. "I think I know. Let's say Tobias and Lydia were taken to the place where the kids were taken. And if Lydia screams, she might be able to reach us. Then we open up a portal and get them out of there."

"That's a good plan, but we still don't know what we're dealing with. There's no record of the smoke or the man in a suit in any of our archives."

Jared sat down and thought it over. "Alicia, remember Kind Schnitter?"

The memories of being the hospital protecting the kids filler her mind. "How could I forget?"

"He wasn't in the Destiny Book either. Remember where Devon found him?"

It then dawned on Alicia. "Fairy Tales." She ran out of the room to the room where Devon kept all his books.

Within minutes, Alicia slammed the open book on a table. "Here!" She exclaimed.

The three gathered around and looked.

"Der Ritter. It says that this creature has appeared across time dating as far back as the Black Plague. It would lead children away in the dark of the night. The only defense against it is... to run away."

"That's creepy." Chris said.

Jared tapped the bottom of the page. "Alicia, look."

Alicia recognized Tobias's handwriting under the text. She read, "It now appears as a man in a black suit. Nowadays, he is known as Slender."

"Slender? The internet myth?" Chris asked. "No way..."

"I've heard of it too. But the internet information doesn't exactly match up with what this book says."

"It doesn't matter. We have to find this thing and get everyone away from it." Alicia stated closing the book.

"Contact the others and let them know what's going on. We're gonna have to trust Lydia and Tobias."

~ Slender's Domain ~

Tobias and Lydia finally got to the front door of the two story house.

"Ready?" Tobias asked.

"Ready."

The two opened the door and slowly entered. Everything was dimly lit and had an eerie atmosphere.

Walking up the stairs, they felt a presence around them that sent shivers down their spines. The hallway at the top of the staircase was long and winding with numerous doors on both sides. The two kept opening the doors only to find dark and empty rooms. At the end of the hallway was a big red door.

"If that's not gonna lead us to them, I don't know what will." Tobias stated.

"Only one way to find out."

Before they could touch the door, a giant figure appeared behind them and threw them down the hall. The figure may have been humanoid, but it was by no means a human. It had wrinkled black skin and jagged teeth. Its eyes were a bloodthirsty red and its silver hair was spiked. It wore silver claws on its hands.

The creature charged forward and tackled Tobias.

"Tobias!" Lydia shouted. The two struggled on the ground, rolling across it. Tobias kicked it in the stomach and sent it into a wall.

"Lydia, get everyone out! I'll keep him busy!"

Nodding, Lydia ran and threw the door open. Tobias tackled the figure to the ground and repeatedly punched it in the face only to get thrown off for his trouble.

Lydia was confronted by a long hallway. She carefully walked forward while trying to keep her breathing under control. Suddenly, a scream that reverberated down the hall made her sprint at full speed.

"Aliya!" Lydia called out. She reached the door at the end of the hall in no time flat and kicked it open.

Her sister, Tony, and a few other kids were huddled together. She ran forward and grabbed her sister.

"Lydia! Oh, Lydia." Aliya cried into her sister's neck.

"It's ok. I'm here. I'm getting you all out of here."

"I cannot let you do that." Came the same calm voice from before. From the shadows came Slender. His faceless features glared down at Lydia and the children, severely frightening them.

Lydia let out another one of her reflexive screams.

~HQ~

"Got her!" Alicia called from the computer. Lydia's scream came through to them loud and clear. "I've pinpointed them. Jared, throw the potion!"

Nodding Jared threw a purple potion at the floor in front of him, causing smoke to rise up.

"Nepo!" Alicia chanted causing millions of swirling lights to fuse with the smoke and form a portal.

"Let's get them out." Chris said.

The three morphed and jumped through.

~ Slender's Domain ~

Lydia somehow got the children away from Slender and were all now running down the hall. "You cannot escape from me." Slender stated sending more shivers down Lydia's spine. She could only force her legs to go faster and faster. She ignored the burning in her lungs and pressed on to get all the kids out.

She opened the red door to see Tobias pinned by the humanoid. His face was caked with sweat and blood. His eyes were staring up in fear.

"Tobias!" Tony shouted. The humanoid swung down but its claw was intercepted by a glowing red and silver sword.

Jared kicked the humanoid in the chest and into a wall.

"This way!" Chris and Alicia called. Lydia led the kids toward her friends.

"You ok, Tobias?" Jared asked, helping the boy up.

"I'm fine. Thanks for finding us."

"It wasn't easy, believe me. Now get going! There's a portal open for you!"

Jared, Alicia and Chris stood against Slender and the Humanoid.

"Legend Burst Cannon, Fire!" The three shouted. The golden blast hit the Humanoid and vaporized it. Slender was a harder opponent. Every attack they threw at him either missed or had no effect.

"This isn't working!" Chris said as he sent over waves of dark energy from his fan.

"If we can't destroy him, we trap him!" Alicia suggested.

"How?" Chris asked.

Jared said, "Wait right here."

After a few minutes, Lydia and Tobias reappeared with Jared.

"Now!" Jared shouted.

Lydia, using her True Soul, created holographic beams of energy fire at Slender, who thought the attacks were real. He dodged them all and jumped forward.

Together, Lydia and Tobias held the Pessimist's Torch and fired off a black sphere of dark light. It hit Slender and trapped him in a sphere of dark light. Chris then wrapped the sphere with darkness while Jared and Alicia chanted:

"I am light,

I am one too strong to fight.

So go away and leave my sight,

And take with you this endless night."

The sphere then condensed into millions of steel chains and bound Slender into an energy cage. He struggled to escape, but to no avail.

"Let's go!" Jared said to the others.

Days passed and Slender's haunting dreams disappeared. The children were all reunited with their families and all was well.

Lydia and Tobias were the most relieved out of everyone.

The teens, minus Asher, sat near the Park square.

"So... a Banshee..." Lydia said hesitantly to Tobias and the Rangers.

Alicia comforted her close friend. "Don't worry. We're gonna help you control your powers."

This brought comfort to Lydia, who smiled.

Noah asked, "Anyone notice the spike in Supernatural activity?"

Liam nodded. "It's not a coincidence. I think we should be careful."

"I'm getting a little worried about this." Sonia finally said, crossing her arms.

Off in the distance, Alviss watched. "You have no idea how worried you should be..." He whispered. He knew Wiseman was going to press harder to fill the Void Key. He knew Slade was going to keep sending beings from the Underworld. He also knew that Slade was waiting and watching for the perfect chance to strike at the Rangers. And finally, the Prince was under the impression that his Grandfather's days as King were numbered...
