It was Friday night and not a lot had happened lately. The Rangers took the opportunity to enjoy themselves. Jared, Asher, Liam, Chris and Tobias were having a guys night out while Sonia, Noah, Lydia and Spencer were having a double date.
It was around 10:30 PM when Bobby had walked Alicia to her house from the movie theatre.
"Thanks again, Bobby." Alicia smiled nervously, "I had a great time."
"I'm glad." Bobby beamed back as the two leaned in for an awkward kiss.
"I'll see you tomorrow?" Bobby asked with a confident smile.
"Of course." Alicia answered as she turned away. Bobby picked up on this but elected to ignore it.
"Good night." Alicia wished as she closed the front door a bit too quickly.
Bobby turned away feeling like a million dollars. As he made his way away from the house he felt a pit grow inside of him; he looked down at his right hand and noticed his Werewolf nails were growing. The boy grimaced as he clenched the hand in a fist and willed the transformation away.
Succeeding, he sighed in relief. "Stay in control." He told himself. "Stay in control."
Alicia closed the door behind her and rested her back against it. She took a deep breath and let it out; something just didn't feel right...
~Dark Void~
Wiseman was observing the Werewolf from a crystal ball. The sphere glowed a dim yellow and cast its light on the stone walls around Wiseman.
"Looks like we have another opportunity. Slade, I have a plan."
The strange wizard waved his hands over the ball and changed its view to footage of Chris using his demon based powers.
Down the hall, Slade was in his own quarters levitating the Void Key between his hands. Inside the hollow sphere was a slowly rising purple liquid.
"Even with all the ancient spirits I steal from Wiseman, I still can't fill this key." He said to himself.
Hearing Wiseman's voice, Slade stood up and went to meet his comrade.
~Cue Theme~
It was free period Monday morning and the Rangers relaxed in the sun. Sonia was strumming her guitar, Alicia was reading a Magic Book disguised as a text book, Jared was wracking his brain trying to write a paper, Liam was studying for an Algebra II test he had next period, Noah elected to neglect the Algebra II test and was doodling in his notebook, and Chris was talking to Asher. Tobias was typing away on his computer when a map appeared on his screen.
"We have a problem."
"What's up?" Liam asked, closing his notes.
"I'm picking up four different Twilight signals throughout the city."
Alarmed, the Rangers crowded around the computer.
Four blinking dots appeared spread out in a square pattern in an overhead map of Bayview.
"This looks like a trap." Sonia pointed out.
"It may very well be." Jared answered. "We need to split up and be careful. We'll need some extra help."
~Bayview Park~
Jared and Noah arrived at the Park to see Alviss leading a squad of Shadowlites.
"Haven't seen you in a while." Jared said materializing his Legend Sword.
"Slayer... Hunter... You've come to play." Alviss responded by raising a black bladed sword.
"We've come to take you down." Noah threatened raising his Legend Staff.
~Bayview Plaza~
"Get down!" Alicia shouted as she fired a few shots from her Legend Staff. As soon as she and Sonia arrived, they were ambushed by Twilight Pink and dozens of Shiners
Sonia flipped away from an assault and struck her attackers with lightning.
~Downtown Streets of Bayview~
Liam and Asher took cover behind a city bus, which was shielding them from an onslaught of beams coming from Twilight Red.
"You two aren't the Red Ranger, but you'll do just fine."
~Bayview Forest~
Chris, teamed with Bobby, were having trouble fighting Slade and Wiseman. Bobby raised his golden sword and sent a wave of energy forward, but Wiseman dispelled the attack and blasted the Wolf Warrior into a tree. Chris covered his right arm in the black metallic armor and sent a punch at Slade. The boy missed and was sent into the air.
"You two aren't reaching your full potential." Slade mocked. "You mystify me, Christopher. Do you not know the truth of your Demonic powers? Join us and I'll show you the ways."
"We'll never join you." Chris spat raising his Fan and Zwei-Sword.
Wiseman extended his hand outward. "Oh?" He then shot a needle thin energy beam at Bobby, who screamed in pain. He dropped his sword, clutched his head and fell to his knees.
"Bobby, what's wrong?" Chris asked.
"I can't... control... myself..."
"Oh no..." Chris dematerialized his weapons and pressed his right index finger to his helmet. "We have a problem guys!" He spoke as he sent a wave of darkness at the Twilight.
"What's wrong?" Came Jared's voice between breaths.
"Something's wrong with Bobby! Wiseman did something to him."
In a worried tone, Alicia informed, "I'm coming!"
Within a few moments, Alicia appeared next to Chris.
She knelt down and shook her boyfriend. "Bobby, is everything ok? Bobby, speak to me."
Wiseman informed, "He won't answer you!" The robed figure sent forth numerous balls of fire to which Chris tried his hardest to swat away with his Fan.
"What'd you do to Bobby?!" Chris demanded.
Slade informed, "What we're about to do to you right now!"
With that, Wiseman hit Chris with the exact same needle thin beam. The boy cried out and lost his Ranger form.
"Chris!" Alicia called out.
"Give into the darkness Bobby and Chris... You know it's in your nature..." Wiseman beckoned.
Alicia lost focus and demorphed as well. She frantically chanted, "Ekam a Llaw!" and erected a shield of pink energy to block Slade and Wiseman. "Guys! They're trying to brainwash Bobby and Chris!" She yelled into her morpher. "I don't know what to do!"
~Noah and Jared~
Noah was thrown into a bush and spoke into his morpher. "Calm down, Alicia!"
~Sonia~
Sonia kicked Twilight Pink in the chest and sent her flying. "Just keep them busy, we'll be there!"
~Alicia~
Breathing in and out, Alicia willed her nerves to stay calm.
"Bobby... Chris... you guys have got to hold on."
Both felt like their heads were about to explode. They felt as if they were being torn apart by an unseen but powerful force.
Chris felt his mind start to cloud up as he muttered, "They're right... my powers are evil..."
Alicia knelt down beside him and denied it. "No they're not. They're good. You're good, Chris."
The two made eye contact and Alicia gasped. Chris's irises were turning pitch black. Composing herself again, she whispered, "We know your powers are terrifying. We know your Dad was a Demon-Warlock hybrid and that's why your power is demonic. But your Mom was Light-Watcher, Chris. There's light inside of you. Don't let Slade take you away from us."
Chris clutched his head and yelled out at the top of his lungs. Inside Chris's mind, memories surged forth so fast he could barely process the images. He saw glimpses of Orbing for the first time when his parents were killed in the crash, orbing to save himself from Shax, joining the Rangers, having lunch with them, training with them, figuring out how to use his magic, casting spells, goofing off, getting into trouble, everything. Eventually, Chris began to speak in a demonic language, which caused his magic to surge out of him as bright purple lights. The lights knocked Alicia away, who once again shouted his name.
"I…" Chris groaned, "am…" He let out another scream, which made the light subside. With his eyes closed, he stood up which worried Alicia.
"Chris?" She asked, holding her breath.
Chris's right arm was once more covered with black armor.
"No..." Alicia whispered. However, something else happened; Chris raised his arm above him and opened his eyes. The pitch black became a beautiful white with tints of blue. The black armor skin glowed the same color and transformed into a diamond-like material.
The boy punched forward and sent a burst of bright energy forward. It absorbed the energy from Alicia's shield and collided with the Twilight soldiers.
Gasping for breath, Chris said, "Thanks, Alicia."
Nodding, Alicia took a deep breath. "Glad you're still with us." That was when her attention turned back to Bobby. He was still struggling in pain.
"Bobby..." She began to walk over to him.
"No... Alicia, no..."
"Bobby?"
Bobby turned his eyes to her. They were feral and wild. "Alicia, stay away!" With one final scream, Bobby's armor disappeared and the boy began his transformation into a full werewolf.
"Come on, Alicia! We have to go!" Chris said, grabbing her wrist and orbing away.
Slade and Wiseman got up from Chris's assault and approached the werewolf.
"One out of two isn't bad." Wiseman commented.
Slade agreed. "Not bad at all."
A/N: Part 2 will be up soon.
As always, thanks for reading!
