Asher's dreams were clouded and murky. He had no idea where he was or why he was there. Just... a voice ran through his head. It was a girl's voice and by the sound of it, she was worried and in a rush.

"Only you can do this, Asher. You can change all this. It has to be you."

"Come with me."

"You know why I can't. Hurry! They're coming!"

Despite hearing the conversation in his memories, Asher could not see much. The only images that flashed by him were blurs, surrounding him in a crazed frenzy.

"Asher!" Came a third voice. "Asher! Asher!"

The boy woke up from his deep sleep and met the eyes of Jared. It took a few moments to realize that he was back in his room in Jared's house. It was still early morning as the sun hadn't risen yet. The calm darkness filled the area as Asher could barely make out the outline of Jared.

"What?" Asher asked, wiping the drowsiness from his eyes.

"We have a problem in the city. Let's go."

~Cue Theme~

Alicia still hadn't recovered from the incident with Bobby, so the Rangers were one short. It had been about 10 days since Bobby passed, and in those 10 days, Bobby was buried and the Rangers attended his funeral. The official story was that Bobby was attacked by a wild animal. It was morbid, but the Rangers had to use their magic to disguise his injuries. Alicia wasn't the same after Bobby was laid to rest.

But, of course, the Supernatural didn't stop for anyone. Six of the Rangers were in the middle of a battle with the usual Monster-of-the-week which came in the form of a Demon known as 'Paradox who could manipulate time and space.

He wore a black and white mask that covered his face. His long white hair cascaded down to his waist. He wore a black trench coat over more black clothing.

Liam launched a barrage of boulders forth but Paradox slipped through a space rip, appeared behind the Ranger, and slammed him into the ground.

"You can't beat me." Paradox taunted as he jumped away from a rush of fire. "I know all of your tricks and strategies!"

Chris tried to take a swing with his Buster Sword, but Paradox knocked the boy off balance. "And I know your weaknesses!" To prove his point, he hit numerous pressure points on Chris making him scream in pain. The being then blasted him with a burst of spatial energy.

"Liam!" Noah called out, sending forth icicles from his hands. The assault made the fiend back off as Sonia helped Liam to his feet. Jared and Chris jumped high into the air with their swords and swung down at their opponent, nailing him with a succession of many attacks.

"Let's end this." Jared told the others.

"Right!"

The six Rangers lined up and focused their Mana into spheres.

"Fire!"

The six spheres sailed forward and mixed together into a giant golden ball; Paradox grinned under his mask and met the attack with a blast of spatial force.

Asher, annoyed by Paradox, summoned his Legend Blade and jumped in the air.

"Asher!" Chris called.

"Don't be reckless!" Sonia pleaded.

"Take this!" Asher shouted as he slashed downward. His weapon made contact with Paradox but something mysterious happened.

See, as Paradox was struck, he attempted to open a space rift to escape. However, the shock of Asher's weapon interrupted his concentration and forced the energy to explode outwards.

A bright light filled the area as the Rangers covered their visors. When the light faded away, all was calm; Asher and Paradox were gone.

~Asher~

Asher was falling through a weird tunnel of lights. Colors melded together in random ways and there seemed to be no end to the portal. However, the far white light at the other side expanded and Asher lost himself.

Waking up, he couldn't really move that well. His head was swimming and his vision was dark. His entire body was heavy and hard to command. He could feel the cold ground under him as he struggled. Realizing that it was dirt he was on top of, Asher concluded that he was outside.

"Is the battle over?" He muttered as he found the strength to lift himself. It was midday and Asher realized he was late to school.

"Why do I care?" He asked as he orbed away. "I'm from the future."

As the boy went on throughout the day, he noticed something off about the student body. In each of his classes, half of the students were missing.

"That's weird," He commented as he walked out for dismissal; everyone was rushing to get home.

Asher stopped and asked a girl why everyone was in a hurry.

"Where've you been for the past two years?" She asked with a worried face.

"I've had problems remembering things lately..."

Sighing, the girl replied, "You should at least get home before curfew." With that, the girl rushed to her bike.

"Curfew?" Asher repeated, crossing his arms. "It's 2 in the afternoon."

Walking down the streets, Asher couldn't help but notice the lack of activity. His converse clicked against the pavement creating large echoes. Looking around, he could see that numerous buildings were boarded up and had signs that read, "Out of business."

Bayview, California had become a ghost city.

As he journeyed on, the boy heard something following him. Clenching his fists, he was prepared for whatever it was supposed to be.

"Who's there?!" He demanded turning around and taking a stance. However, he was met with an empty street. Shrugging, he continued through the abandoned city.

The sun was beginning to set and Asher was getting worried. He couldn't find any of his friends and he still had zero answers on how he got there in the first place.

With a final beam of sunlight, dusk descended and activity skyrocketed. From nowhere, shadowy figures burst around Asher and surrounded him. He could tell from sheer experience that he had just run into a pack of vampires.

Leading the fold was a very hesitant looking Liam.

"Liam?" Asher asked, relaxing a bit. "What're you doing here?"

This Liam was paler than the one Asher knew. Black streaks ran through his medium brown hair. He wore a black leather coat over a dark green shirt, black jeans and green converse.

"No one's called me that in a long time..." He commented. "Who're you?"

"What do you mean? I'm-" Suddenly, Asher froze mid sentence as he looked into Liam's green eyes; Liam's NEON green eyes.

"A Bount..." Asher whispered, taking a step back.

"Oh, so you're not completely dumb. Yeah, I'm the only Bount left in the world... And you? You're my prey. Attack!"

The twenty or so Vampires swarmed the Light Watcher as he raised his arms in defense.

Though outnumbered, Asher put up a tremendous fight. He mowed through quite a few Vampires using his telekinesis.

"What's going on here?" He asked himself as he impaled a Vampire's heart with a metal pole. "Why is Liam a Bount?" Asher rolled under a swipe and ripped two Vampires apart with a telekinetic pull.

Within a few minutes, all the Vampires were dust.

"Impressive." Liam sneered. "But it's my turn now." The Bount clapped his hands together and flattened them out against the ground. Neon green energy shifted the earth around him and created metal cannons. With a deafening crack, energy balls sailed at the Light-Watcher. Panicking, Asher orbed as fast as he could to avoid the constant assault.

"A Light-Watcher/Witch Hybrid? Interesting!"

A final shot hit Asher as he orbed out of the air. The boy fell onto his back in a heavy daze, his vision clouding. A thin layer of sweat matted his bangs to his forehead which also had a bloody cut to the side.

"It's over, Kid." Liam said as he stepped over Asher. Suddenly, a blue burst of energy knocked Liam into a car.

"Back off." Came a familiar voice. Asher shifted his head and found the source: Noah. This Noah looked more battle hardened than Asher's. His hair was shorter and spiked up and his eyes were emotionlessly cold. He wore his family Hunter cloak, which was slightly ripped, black pants and black boots.

"Noah... good to see you again, Buddy." Liam stated with a calming voice.

"I'm not your buddy anymore." Noah's voice answered with a slight crack. Noah raised his arms and his aura powered up with energy. Through his clothing, symbols glowed underneath: Fire-Rose-Wall. Blue fire tendrils burst from the ground and tried to wrap around Liam, but he quickly evaded them.

"A shame." Liam sighed.

Asher got himself up to his feet and limped backwards. "What's going on?" He asked himself.

"How could you stoop so low?" Noah demanded.

"Me? Stoop low? It's your fault this happened to me! I didn't ask to be like this!"

"Well, it's my job to stop you."

"Try it."

With that, the two Best Friends charged at each other and clashed. Liam sent down green energy discs but Noah blasted them away with his molecular bursts.

As the intense back and forth battle raged on, Asher couldn't contain his shivering.

"Stop it..." Memories of the world he seemingly left behind flashed through his brain; being with his team mates, laughing, fighting together...

"Stop..." Asher whispered again as Liam kicked Noah in the head.

"STOP!" The boy ran forward and telekinetically threw Noah and Liam away from each other.

"What the hell's going on?!" Asher demanded. "What happened to you guys? You're friends! My friends!"

Noah shook his head. "What do you mean?"

"They don't know me..." Asher whispered. He then said, "Ok, how about Jared?"

"Jared?" Liam asked.

Asher nodded, "The Vampire Slayer."

"You know the Slayer?" Noah asked in surprise.

"Wait, what? Of course I do. He lives here."

"No... last I heard he was stationed in Seattle." Noah stated.

Asher's head started to spin a bit more. "Seattle? But if he never came here then I..."

"Excuse me, Kid." Liam called out. "Stop talking to yourself, and let me go."

Asher still kept a hold on both boys so they wouldn't attack each other.

"I'm not gonna let go unless you guys stop fighting."

"I can't let Liam live." Noah informed with a cold glare.

"Why?" Asher asked.

"Yeah!" Liam added. "I didn't do anything! We haven't spoken in three years!" It was then Asher realized that the Legend Power Rangers never came together. He was tempted to test his morpher but decided against it.

Liam continued, "Why not defeat the 'Master?' He's the one who did all this!"

"The Master?" Asher asked.

"Yeah, he's a powerful Vampire who's been alive for hundreds of years. He wiped out a large number of Witches, Supernaturalists and other powerful beings... even the Power Rangers. He even wiped out the Twilight."

"What? No way." Asher stated in disbelief. If he and the other Rangers struggled against the Twilight and this "Master" wiped them out, then a tough fight was definitely in the future.

"Yeah, even all the Bounts. I'm the last one, like I said. I'm undesirable #1 in his book."

"This can't be... We're all friends."

"What're you saying?" Noah asked with an irritated tone, struggling against the telekinetic straight jacket.

"This isn't the best place to talk." Asher informed as he orbed himself and the two away. As the scene cleared, a lone Vampire stood watching behind a corner. She had stalked Asher all day and grinned to herself. She scurried off to tell the Master of what just happened.

~HQ Location~

Asher thought he'd land in the familiar surroundings of the Legend HQ. Unfortunately, he was in for quite a shock. The entire building was destroyed and reduced to rubble. The remains were weathered and rusted; clearly it was destroyed long ago.

Falling to his knees, Asher let a few tears fall from his eyes.

"Are you ok?" Noah asked.

"Please, I know how we can save everyone."

"Really?" Liam asked as he stepped closer.

Noah explained, "Kid, I'm in a small resistance group. Sonia and I are leading it and we're not doing the best job. You can't just expect me to believe that someone like you can turn the tides."

Asher took in a deep breath and answered, "I'll tell you everything if you get everyone together."

"Everyone?" Noah and Liam asked.

If it wasn't obvious by then, it had to be now; Asher was somehow sent to an alternate world where the balance between good and evil was massively thrown off.

~Bayview City Hall~

Bayview City Hall was the perfect spot for the Master to set up base. Sitting in the darkened main office, the Master looked upon the darkened city through a tinted window.

The Master himself was a bald vampire with blood red eyes. His skin was borderline albino pale. He wore a simple black suit which he kept neat at all times, even going as far as dusting off small unnoticeable specks.

Listening to his minion inform him of what she heard, he studied the city with bored eyes.

"The Slayer, huh? Haven't fought one of those since the Boxer Rebellion. Interesting... Send a battalion. If what you're saying is true, then we'll have a very special guest by eight."

"I told you..." Came a voice.

"I won't doubt you again, new partner."

Paradox stepped out of the shadows and nodded. "I'm glad." The being smiled in pure glee.

~Bayview Woods~

One of the few safe places left, Bayview Woods was protected by a magical charm that blocked out the Master and his minions.

Noah, cross armed, leaned against a tree next to Sonia who was sitting. Sonia too looked battle hardened. Her hair was cut to shoulder length and it was striped black. She wore a dark yellow hooded poncho sweater over a black shirt, black pants and black boots. Next to Sonia was Lydia and Tobias. Both wore all black and had emotionless expressions.

Liam sat on a low tree branch away from Noah and Sonia.

"Calm down, Sonia." Noah beckoned, the girl was staring at Liam with poisonous glares. In a swirl of pink lights, Alicia stepped into view. She resembled the Alicia Asher knew, matching her in almost every way. Except, this Alicia had on a black leather jacket over a dark pink shirt, dark brown pants and black high heeled boots. In her left hand was a black bow. On her back was a quiver of magical arrows. In this world, Alicia Morgan was a Hunter.

"Who's this kid?" Alicia demanded looking at her former classmates. "I was about to go on a hunt with my Caroban students. This better be important."

Noah explained, "Apparently, this kid Asher knows of a way to defeat the Master."

Tobias laughed. "Really? Him?"

Lydia added, "And what makes him so special? And why are we here?"

Overwhelmed by the presence of the counterparts, Asher stuttered, "I... I can't tell you until Jared gets here."

"The Slayer?" Alicia asked intrigued. "Why him?"

"You'll see."

Suddenly, a small beeping sound from Lydia's pocket. She pulled out phone and tapped the touch screen. "I'm getting tons of activity from the City."

In an instant, Alicia sprinted forward raring for a fight. Sonia followed after her with Liam. Everyone else followed leaving Asher in the dust. He shook his head and orbed after the group.

Asher arrived to see a full out brawl going on in the Plaza. The counterparts of his friends were in perfect control of their powers. The hundreds of Vampires didn't stand a chance. Even Lydia and Tobias fought with ferocity.

Eventually, Asher himself joined the fray and staked a few Vamps. However, after a long while, he began to tire out. He attempted to use his morpher numerous times but to no avail. As quick as a flash, Asher felt a fist connect with his stomach and just as quickly, he found himself on his back against the asphalt. A vampire smirked at him in victory and was going in for the kill when a silver and red streak of energy sliced through her.

Looking at the source, Asher's eyes widened. Jared stood ready with a giant silver buster sword. He was drastically different from Asher's Jared. This Jared's hair was shaggy and a bit wild. His eyes were indifferent and bloodthirsty. A small scar rested atop his right eyebrow. He wore a dark red long sleeved shirt, black gloves that didn't cover his fingers, dark pants and black boots. With one swipe of his sword, he destroyed the remaining vampires.

When all was over, the sword burst into lights and sailed into Jared's chest; his soul gate. This Jared's True Soul was a giant destructive sword.

"Can someone tell me what the hell I'm doing down here?" He asked the others.

"Jared Gordon." Lydia stared in awe.

"Well? Someone speak up." Jared demanded.

"Ask him." Tobias pointed to Asher.

Taking a breath, Asher began to explain...

"Us? Power Rangers?" Noah laughed. "All the Rangers are dead."

"But in my world, we're the Rangers." Asher restated. "We're the heroes!"

Jared, clearly angry, half yelled, "You dragged me down from my post to tell me a fairy tale?!"

"It's not a fairy tale!" Asher yelled back. He ran up to everyone and shook their shoulders one after the other.

"Lydia! Tobias! You guys have to believe me! You two helped out of so many jams! You weren't Rangers but you were both so brave! Noah, Liam! You guys are best friends; you two always work together! Sonia, you're supposed to be gentle and kind! You were always there for me! Jared! Alicia! You two... you're supposed..."

"Stop it." Sonia cringed trying to fight back tears. "The people you're describing don't exist."

Alicia sighed and explained with a gentle voice, "The Twilight attacked first and we were defenseless. Every Ranger team rose up to fight but were killed. Then the Bounts and Twilight destroyed each other. The Master came forward from the Underworld and wiped most of us out. The people we once were two years ago are gone, Asher."

"No..." Asher whispered. "Chris will believe me! I'll go find him and..."

"Chris Paige?" Noah asked.

"Yeah?"

Tobias informed, "Chris died about a year ago. The Demon, Shax killed him."

"We were supposed to save him..."

Before anything else could be said, a force wave knocked all the teenagers to the ground. The Master appeared with a smile on his face.

"Resistance Fighters, a Hunter, the last Bount, and the Slayer. Looks like I hit the jackpot!"

"Asher, get out of here!" Sonia warned. "Run!"

"What?"

Liam said, "I don't like it, but if what you're saying is true and you're from a different world, you have to get back there."

"Go." Jared commanded.

Nodding, Asher orbed away. As he did, he looked down to see the teenagers get overpowered and captured.

Asher landed face first against warm sand. He looked up at the tattered HQ and gave up.

The captured Teens sat in front of City Hall behind a dark energy barrier. Their powers wouldn't work and they knew they would die. Guarding the barrier was the Master and Paradox.

The two wanted to draw out all the remaining citizens and execute the captives as an example.

"I was thinking about what Asher said." Alicia informed the others.

"And?" Noah asked, irritated.

"Don't you guys feel it? The five of us... I know you can feel the connection."

Perking up, Sonia closed her eyes and felt a sense of safety emanating from the others. "She's right..." The two made eye contact and exchanged small smiles.

Jared shook his head. "It doesn't make sense. I don't know you."

"But in the world he came from, you do know us." Alicia answered. "Maybe it's not too late for us. We all used to be friends... we're supposed to be."

Exchanging glances, the seven teenagers felt a warmth around each other.

Noah and Liam fist bumped for the first time in years. "I missed my best friend." Noah stated with a crying smile.

Liam nodded and blinked away his own tears. "I missed all of you." As cliche as it was, they all came in for a group hug.

"Come on, Jared." Alicia smiled. "We need to work together."

Asher's attention was snapped into focus when he saw a glowing light come from the rubble of HQ. Using his telekinesis to move the pile, he found a black case. Inside the case were five Morphers.

"How long do we have to wait?" The Master asked. "We should call the assembly now."

Paradox responded, "Patience. The last rat will be here soon." On cue, Asher orbed into view.

"See what I mean?"

Master commanded his Vampire forces to attack.

"Asher!" The teens called out.

The boy flung rocks and metal poles through the hordes to disband them. In his right hand was the black case. He orbed into the air and destroyed the Vampires below him with bright white orbs. He cast a power canceling spell on the barrier and broke it. At that moment, Paradox nailed him with a powerful strike to the chest, sending him off his feet.

Asher couldn't breathe; the wind was knocked out of him. He couldn't find the strength to get up. He had to get the case to the Rangers. He had to save them.

"It's over!" Paradox yelled in victory. He was going to end Asher's life when a burst of telekinetic energy flung him away. Jared, Noah, Alicia, Sonia and Liam sprinted together and stopped in a straight line in front of Jared.

"Not today!" Noah taunted.

"You pests!" The Master screamed sending forward a wave of red lights.

Together, the five teens began to glow and a shield of multicolored energy protected them.

The case in Asher's hand opened and the morphers floated into the air and perched themselves on the wrists of the five.

"Let's do it!" Jared yelled.

"Right!"

The multicolored lights reappeared and changed them. The five resembled Asher's five Rangers even more down to the hairstyles, eyes and features. All scars were gone as well. Liam even changed back to human, much to his amazement and delight.

"Spirit Legend, Awaken!"

The Transformation circles appeared under them and glowed brilliant lights. Swirling energy wrapped around them until they were fully morphed.

"Red Legend Ranger!"

"Blue Legend Ranger!"

"Pink Legend Ranger!"

"Green Legend Ranger!"

"Yellow Legend Ranger!"

"Ancient Spirits Unite! Power Rangers Next Legend, Start up!"

The group stood ready for battle, all impressed with what had just happened. The only difference with these Rangers was that their visors shared their own Ranger color but in a lighter shade.

The five charged forward in complete synchrony. They tore through hordes and hordes of Vampires with their weapons. They fought with such passion and ferocity, it brought one last tear to Asher's eye. In minutes, the Vampires were dust and the Master was destroyed with one blast from the Legend Burst Cannon.

"Now it's your turn!" Jared threatened Paradox.

"I don't think so!" He yelled, sending forth a blast of energy. The attack was met by the LBC's final strike and the two lights collided in midair.

Suddenly, Asher felt himself get sucked forward. "It's happening again..." He whispered as he flung forward. The golden blast of the alternate Rangers destroyed Paradox and opened a wormhole. Screaming, Asher was pulled through.

Feeling his face flat against the pavement once more, Asher's head was in a daze yet again.

"Asher!" Came Jared's voice.

"He's there!" Alicia called, her voice sounding so distant. In seconds, he felt the back of his head resting on someone's lap. He opened his eyes and thought he saw his parents. He hadn't thought of them in a long, long time.

"Mom... Dad..." He whispered softly. However, his eyes came back into focus and he came into eye contact with Jared and the other Rangers.

"I'm back..." He said so they could hear him. "I'm... back..." Without another word, Asher fell into a deep sleep relieved he was with his Ranger family once more.

A/N: I really enjoyed this chapter. I love "what ifs" they're so much fun!
